The Manager's Dilemma

Description

VIXX is getting a new manager and it could lead to many successes as well as many problems. Why? Because the new manager is a woman! She's also around the same age as the members of VIXX. What will happen when these six men and one woman start living together? Will love ensue? Will they encounter many more problems? Will they be uncomfortable? Read along as VIXX becomes more popular and encounters more problems than ever before.

So, hello! I'm back after an entire year, and I have started to write again. I have had an unhealthy VIXX obsession for the last month, so I'm starting a VIXX fic right now. Uh, I've basically given up on all of my other stories, but I'll try at some point to finish what I can. Here are the links to them if you would like to read them:

The Key to the Master Bedroom (Complete, most popular story)

In Love With an Idol (Ongoing - SUPER LONG HIATUS)

My Dead Girlfriend's Diary (Ongoing, SUPER LONG HIATUS)

BTD: Beyond the Darkness (I don't even know about this one anymore. I didn't really get much response)

Without a Soul (Ongoing - Long-ish Hiatus)

Stop Copying Me (Apply Fic, closed, still a pretty good story, hiatus)

The Death Giver (Apply Fic, closed, also a very good story, hiatus)

Paradise (Oneshot, complete - so very sad)

B R E A T H E (Oneshot, complete - so very cute)

Sharp Edge (Oneshot, complete - so very angsty)

Foreword

The roads were slick with rain from the night before making the black asphalt appear shiny and slippery. Lee Jin walked aimlessly through the night, observing her surroundings and pondering on thoughts she found troubling. She had been into an unexpected project the day before by her indecisive uncle. He continuously repeated how much he needed her and how she would be a big help if she did this one thing for him. Who knew that the favor he asked would be to take care of five grown men and one teenager? She had just started her job at a publishing company and to suddenly be into the job of managing rookie idols had her stumped and looking for answers. Her uncle hadn’t even explained anything before leaving the country with his family. The company for which he worked had no answers either. They were okay with everything that he had suggested. Apparently, he told the company directors one month before that Jin would take whatever job she could get and would never reject to being a manager for an idol group; however, that was before she received a job offer from the publishing company of her dreams. Though the managing gig paid more money and came with living quarters, would all that be worth giving up a job that she yearned for?

The correct answer would be no, but Jin was much like her uncle in being indecisive. She ran her dainty hands through her tousled, dyed red hair. The sandal strap of her shoe snapped earlier in the night and Jin had resulted to limping back to her mother’s apartment. Having had the energy out of her, Jin was exhausted. She wanted to lie down in bed and dream a sweet dream that would make her forget about all of her troubling ordeals. Should she be a good niece and help her uncle out, or should she pursue her dream? She was still young; there was plenty of time to go after her dream. Maybe, just maybe, the fact that this happened at that time meant that something else was destined for her; something better. Perhaps, she would find managing 6 attractive idols more enjoyable than printing out papers and making coffee. They weren’t just any idols, either. They were VIXX. Jin had been monitoring them since their debut – her uncle had requested her to do so – and she believed that they had a bright future ahead of them. They were destined for success.

Jin had been blessed with a certain gift as a child. Whenever she saw someone with the potential to become something great, she could see a light so bright growing behind the person. Sometimes the light would be blinding and sometimes the light would be dimly glowing. All of the members of VIXX had brightly glowing lights growing behind them; every last one. Jin had been the one to predict INFINITE’s first win and SHINee’s eminent success. She was the one to prove Verbal Jint’s one-of-a-kind talent and Nell’s ever-so-hypnotizing music. She had much confidence in all of these artists and she knew they would gain popularity as they went on. She had been a fan of talent since she was a small child. Her parents or any other family members knew nothing of this specialty. She refused to tell people she could see the light behind talented people. They would most likely believe that it was a bad omen and that Jin should be contained. Jin sat on the steps in front of the apartment building and sighed in frustration. The street light in front of the high rise building began to flicker on and off. People continued to pass by, completely ignoring the light and Jin with her broken shoe in her hand. She could hear singing in the distance accompanied by an acoustic guitar.

She nodded along to the comforting song, swaying her body as she did so. It was a soft, melodic voice that gave Jin goose bumps down her back. She could feel her skin crawling in a good way. It was talent like this that made Jin want to take up her uncle’s offer. Jin stood up suddenly and took off her other shoe. She was tired of limping around and wanted to walk with confidence, even if it meant she had to be barefoot. She followed the sound of the music and reached the corner of a street where a group of people were gathered around a man, around 20 years old, sitting on a stool with his guitar in his lap. His fingers were long and slender as they strummed the acoustic guitar. His wavy black hair reached his shoulders and surrounded his slim face. His face looked serene and happy. He was genuinely happy to be playing on the street. In front of him sat his guitar case, wide open and almost overflowing with money. He continued to sing with gusto, his expression calming as he sang of lost love and betrayal. It was a touching song that tugged at Jin’s heartstrings. The looks on the faces of those surrounding the young man were those filled with sorrow and remembrance of pains passed. It touched them as well. Jin looked back at the player and saw the dimly lit light glowing behind him. It wasn’t bright, but it was there. He had more potential. He was able to do better than he was currently doing.

Immediately, she pulled a ten thousand won bill out of her pocket along with the business card she had gotten earlier that day. It had the name of a scouting agent at Jellyfish Entertainment. His talent wasn’t something that should be kept to himself. He had to share this with the world. She placed the card and the money in the guitar case and walked away, the music fading behind her. She took out her phone and called the number for Jellyfish Entertainment. She wanted to see VIXX grow. They still had more potential than could be imagined, and she was ready to help give them their chance.
