After that phone call, Jihyo and Jongkook got even closer together. They both felt that it's not just friendship that's between them but something more beyond that bond. The only problem was, both were just too scared to confirm what that feeling was so neither took a step to justify if their thoughts and feelings were real. Kwangsoo as well was getting suspicious with the way the pair was acting. His filming schedules got tighter that he didn't have any chance on going out with his friends anymore.

It was a Wednesday evening and Jongkook and Jihyo were at the gym, spending their quality time together. The gym didn't have their usual amount of customers but the attention the Commander and the Ace were giving to each other made that issue somewhat disappear from the back of their heads. Jongkook was on the bench press, pumping up his muscles to the full while Jihyo was on the treadmill, her headphones on as she ran faster on the machine, each doing their own exercise routine in their own personal bubble. But for some untold reason, Jihyo began to get curious on how such a man can carry such weight with just his arms. Getting off the machine, Jihyo walked over to where Jongkook was and watched the man as he flexed his arms with the barbell.

Focusing on what he was doing, Jongkook didn't notice that the woman was standing right beside him. He kept counting the times he lifted the barbell and grunted in the middle of each number. Sweat was dripping from his forehead, soaking up the foam where his head lay. But to Jihyo, concern wrapped around her system, instinctively taking her towel and wiping off the sweat that trickled down the singer's temple, startling him from his work.

"Oh!" Jongkook said, holding the weights in the air. "What are you doing? How long were you there?" He asked between pants, placing back the barbell on its hook.

"I was just curious and I saw you sweating so I wiped it." Jihyo explained, feeling nervous with her deed.

"Ahhh." Jongkook chuckled and sat up, wiping face with his hand. "Curious with what?" He asked.

"With that." The actress pointed out at the barbell then chuckled. "And how one man can lift such a heavy thing."

Laughing from her statement, Jongkook stood up and moved to the side, gesturing his hand towards the contraption. "You want to try?" 

With a smile on her face, Jihyo nodded and quickly sat on the sweaty cushion before laying her body down. Jongkook was surprised with Jihyo's actions. Most girls would wipe off the sweat or disinfect the bench just to make sure it's clean but Jihyo was different. She doesn't mind getting down and dirty and Jongkook just loved that about her.

"You do know that the cushion is covered with my sweat right?" Jongkook said as he moved to the side, lessening the weight on each side of the metal bar.

"I'm sweaty too, Oppa, so cleaning it would just be a waste of effort." She giggled while stretching her arms.

"Hmm.. true enough." The Commander grinned. "Oh and water?"

"Yes please."

Heading towards to where their things were, the singer rummaged through his bag in search for a clean face towel. The sweat that was covering his body was enough to fill a pail and being with Jihyo in that image made him conscious with his every move. He wiped off the beaded liquid from his forehead, down his neck and in his sleeveless shirt, drying himself temporarily. He then strolled over to the boxes filled with bottled water, taking four pieces at once. He noticed that the gym only had three people in it, the caretaker and them making him wonder to why there were lesser customers than before. Making his way back to where the actress was, Jongkook looked around the gym, observing the atmosphere, when he accidentally tripped over a random object that as laying around the floor. The four water bottles were dropped, rolling lifelessly on the ground and thankful for his quick reflexes, the Commander was able to hold unto something, preventing his body and the ground from touching. His eyes were closed, fearing of what might have been the outcome of his body condition if he did meet the ground. But later did he know that he was in a situation where he wished he disappeared like air. 

His eyes opened wide to see that Jihyo's face was just centimeters away from his. The towel hanging from his neck covered their faces from anyone to see. Jongkook couldn't move a muscle, his hands stiff as well as his legs, preventing him from moving away. The actress on the other hand was immobile as well, shocked at the event that was happening before her eyes. She didn't have the energy to push the man away. She knew she had to but deep inside that she didn't want to.

Their eyes looking straight into each other's, lips that were just a breath away. Neither wanted to pull away and just wanted to savor the moment being in their own private bubble. They felt electricity pulsing through their veins along with heat surrounding every sinew of muscle that was in their body. The mutual feeling that was surrounding them was now palpable, making anyone feel it if they saw the couple. Slowly, blacking out from his senses, Jongkook started closing in, preparing himself to kiss the woman he adored, but reality kicked in, making him pull away to stand up beside the bench. He turned his back, his face the shade of crimson as he realized what he was about to do. Jihyo as well, reacted the same. Her face the blushing hard as she imagined the Commander pushing on with his deed. She didn't know if she wanted to be kissed, not in that state but she couldn't help but feel a slight pang of disappointment when the man she loved pulled back in committing such crime.

"Sh-shall we start?" Jongkook asked as he finally faced the actress.

"Uhhh.. what?" Jihyo looked at the man, her eyes wide in confusion.

"The liftings. Shall we start?" 

"Oh.." Looking around, deciphering the situation she was in, she nodded and laid down on the cushion, her fingers wrapping around the cold metal bar.

The atmosphere was awkward at first. None were talking but just counting to how many times Jihyo has lifted the metal bar. Their eyes never meeting each others, only looking around to avoid uncomfortable contact. 

"twenty-one.. twenty-two.. twen-ouch!" 

"Omo!" Jihyo stopped when she heard the man. "What happened?"

"It's nothing." Jongkook assured. "My toe just ached." 

Chuckling, Jihyo hanged the bar over at the hook and covered her face to stifle her giggles. "And what might be funny, Seongim?" Jongkook asked.

"You are."

"Eh? How am I funny?" 

"Well you've been working out for two hours already and you only complained about your toe." She laughed. "Are you Iron Man or something?"

Jongkook laughed as well at the woman's explanation and gave her an innocent shrug. "I can be Superman if you want and you can Wonder Woman. The Commander and The Ace." He grinned.

And with that, the awkwardness between the best friends suddenly disappeared. They were laughing again, joking around, the weird feeling of earlier's event forgotten. Giving up on the bench press, the Commander and the Ace then headed towards the floor to ceiling mirror, deciding on stretching as their cooling down routine. Stretching and flexing their arms, their couldn't help but glance at each other to the reflecting glass, smiling once their eyes lock unto one another. As they finished their gym venture, the Commander and the Ace made their way back to their occupied bench. The man's arm around the woman's shoulder and the woman's arm around the man's waist. Jihyo smiled and giggled as she remembere
