Double Trouble

Rules Are Meant To Be Broken [Hiatus]

{ Chapter Three | Double Trouble }

“I give up!”

Sungyeol placed his pen down in frustration, massaging his right hand which didn’t stop writing for two straight hours. Sighing, he also pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned back on his chair. Sungyeol glanced at his antique clock that hung above his bed and realised it was already half-past ten. Grumbling, he finished off the last paragraph and stuffed his assignment into his backpack. Looking up, he cringed at the stack of papers and books that he would have to check later on the next day.

“Aigoo, why did I do to deserve this?” Sungyeol muttered before moving the papers to the side.

Grabbing a towel and his night clothes, he headed to the bathroom. The brown-haired boy soon came out, and sat on his bed glancing around his room and sighing. Lying down, he placed his hand over his forehead and sighed. It has been a week since Myungsoo stayed over at his house and couldn’t help but missed the younger’s presence. His lips curled at the memory of Myungsoo.

Just as Sungyeol left his room, a familiar tune echoed. Myungsoo turned to the sound of his phone ringing, and walked painfully to get it. Grunting and not bothered to check who the caller was, he slid across his screen to accept the call.

“Yah?”

Yah? Is that what you say to someone who’s worried about you? How can you say that hyung! I miss you! When are you coming back from Sungyeol’s place?” Myungsoo cringed when he heard Sungjong’s voice at the other end but smiled that he knew that someone cared.

“Don’t worry Sungjong, and yes I know you miss me. I know how much you love me,” Myungsoo replied, finishing the sentence off with some kissing noises. “Yah Sungjong-ah I miss you. I need you, come here in Sungyeol’s place, I can’t take it anymore, I need you and your touches. Sungjong~”

It was silent on the other end, and Myungsoo wondered if he freaked his dongsaeng out. He hoped that Sungjong knew that what he said was a joke. After all, they are friends.

“Hey, don’t say words that you don’t mean L hyung,” Sungjong whispered, his voice sounding a bit broken.

Myungsoo bit his lip, knowing he hurt his friend’s feelings. He knew exactly what Sungjong meant. Before he could say anything, the door suddenly opened. Myungsoo’s face flinched at the unexpected action, but calmed down when he saw it was Sungyeol. Sungyeol looked at him with a confused face before proceeding back to drinking his bottle of water.

“Who’s on the phone hmm Myungsoo?” asked Sungyeol after finishing his drink. When he didn’t get an instant reply, he moved closer to Myungsoo and swiftly saw the ID’s name and smirked. “Oh I see, it’s that girly guy who was with you! What was her name again? Sunyoung? Sunmi? Sohee? Ah! Seohyun!”

Myungsoo snickered at Sungyeol’s comment before hearing Sungjong’s voice screaming at the other line.

Yah Lee Sungyeol! I am not a girl! And my name is Lee Sungjong. Lee Sung-jong. Get it?” Myungsoo widened his eyes at

Sungjong’s outburst and started to laugh despite Sungjong’s protest. “Hyung, don’t be so mean! What’s so funny? Hyung!

“Just for your information oh sweet dongsaeng of mine, it’s Sungyeol hyung, arraso? Arraso. But wait, you’re not a girl? Ah I get it; you must be one of Myungsoo’s crazy fan-boys. I see, I see,” Myungsoo couldn’t help but burst into laughter after Sungyeol’s comment. Who knew this guy was funny?

“What makes you think I want to talk to you Sungyeol? And for your information, I am not one of Myungsoo’s crazy fans! Speaking of Myungsoo, where is he? Why isn’t he speaking? Yah, what did you do to him? Answer me Sungyeol!”

“That’s Sungyeol hyung, Sungjong-ah!” Sungyeol heard Sungjong scoffed at the other end. His lips curled into an evil smile. Scooting closer to Myungsoo, he pinched the latter’s waist.

“Ow! Let go of me Sungyeol! Stop! D-don’t do it any harder!” cried Myungsoo, who was hurt from the painful pinch. Sungyeol had to bite his lips from laughing. The raven-haired boy caught on what Sungyeol was trying to do, and tried to refrain from smiling at the other’s plan.

“Hey! What are you doing to my hyung?! Hyung! Can you hear me?! What is Sung-”

Myungsoo! That’s it baby!screamed Sungyeol, before slapping his thighs for the noise effect. Myungsoo buried his face in Sungyeol’s pillow so that his laugh couldn’t be heard. “Myungsoo! Myungsoo! Faster baby, faster!”

“S-stop it Sungyeol! You’re h-hurting him! Sunggyu hyung! Sunggyu hyung!” Both of the boys heard Sungjong calling for Myungsoo’s brother. After a brief moment, they high-fived each other before bursting into laughter. They stopped when the sound of footsteps thundered on the other end (and Sungjong’s squealing) and Sunggyu’s oh-so-familiar voice roared on the phone.

“Hey Myungsoo! What the hell is Sungjong talking about? What does he mean by you’re doing the communication of bodies with Sungyeol? Myungsoo?! Myung-”

 “Myungsoo!

Sungyeol!

With that, Sungyeol ended the call and quickly removed the batteries from Myungsoo’s phone to stop any incoming calls from Sunggyu or Sungjong. He looked at Myungsoo who also met his gaze, before chuckling again. Myungsoo smirked and giggled as well.

The two prepared to go to sleep as it was almost near eleven o’clock, and unfortunately they had school tomorrow. Luckily, the troublemakers had the brains (surprisingly) to do their homework before the phone incident. No matter how the school acknowledge them as, it was known that despite the commotion the choding and cheeky boy caused; they were smart; all 7 of the students were smart.

Myungsoo looked up at the ceiling before looking at Sungyeol who stubbornly insisted on sleeping on his couch. His eyes twitched at the scene, for some reason he felt bad for letting the tall choding sleep on the couch. He wouldn’t have mind if both slept on the same bed. Snapping out if his thoughts, he called out to Sungyeol.

“Hey Sungyeol, just because of what happened today, that doesn’t mean I see you as a friend,” The raven-haired boy watched Sungyeol turned so that they were both looking at each other.

“I didn’t expect you too,” replied Sungyeol before turning his back on him. Myungsoo sighed and did the same, a pang of guilt in his throat.

“But we can try,” For some reason, Myungsoo’s lips curled upwards at his own words. He turned back to see Sungyeol’s reaction but to his disappointment the brown-haired boy didn’t move. Pouting, he crawled to the side of the bed. Sungyeol, being an owl he is, heard the ruffling noises and snapped at Myungsoo for possibly deepening his injuries. The latter rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out before proposing a plan.

“Let’s embarrass Sunggyu hyung and Woohyun hyung,” stated Myungsoo, his eyes piercing into Sungyeol’s.

Sungyeol could see the seriousness in Myungsoo’s orbs but scoffed at the idea. Why would he want to do that? With his so-called ‘rival’? Okay sure, Sungyeol admits that he was the one who tried to befriended Myungsoo, which was probably one of the most stupidest ideas he ever thought of, but why would he want to embarrass his rival’s brother? And his own friend?

“What a stupid idea Myungsoo. Why would I want to do that to Woohyun?” answered Sungyeol. He saw Myungsoo pouted, and before he knew it, the other male was pulling the puppy eyes. Sungyeol sighed in defeat, whilst the other did a victory dance. “So if you may, Myung-, please care to explain to me this plan of yours.”

It’s been a week since Sungyeol agreed to Myungsoo’s plan. Why he chose to do it? He didn’t know. But Sungyeol was certain that tomorrow would probably be either the worst or best day of his school life.

It was a normal day at Woollim High for Kim Sunggyu. The redhead sat down on his usual tree before plugging in his earphones, and proceeding to write notes on his music pieces for his upcoming performance. Sunggyu smirked; yes, the Kim Sunggyu was going to perform in front of the school, and no-one, even Nam Woohyun, was going to beat him. It wasn’t until a few minutes, he saw Myungsoo running up to him with a worried expression written on his face. Concerned, he pulled on the earphones.

“Hyung! It’s Woohyun hyung! I-I don’t know what happened but I heard him scream!” cried Myungsoo. Sunggyu was unaffected with Myungsoo’s words and went back to placing the earphones in his ears. “Hyung!”

“And you expect me to care why Myungsoo?” asked Sunggyu in a monotone voice. The redhead didn’t even look up which made Myungsoo puff.

“Sunggyu! This is a life and death situation! You know well that Woohyun can’t take care of himself!” Sunggyu smirked at the comment, and looked at Myungsoo who threw his arms up in the air.

“It’s Sunggyu hyung, and why do you care so much? He can take care of himself, don’t worry” Sunggyu ruffled his brother’s hair before his hand was slapped. Taken aback, Sunggyu saw the worry and anger in his dongsaeng’s eyes.

“B-because, he was crying for your help; for you Sunggyu hyung!” The older widened his eyes at the remark, before staring at the ground. Myungsoo bit his lip from the smirk that was threatening to appear.

“Where is he?” The raven-haired boy smiled widely before hugging his brother. Sunggyu pushed him away, and raised his brow; Myungsoo knew exactly what he meant.

“Drama theatre”

And with that, the redhead sprinted leaving a grinning Myungsoo alone. Fishing his phone out, he texted to Sungyeol, the grin never leaving his face.

“Hey Sungyeol! What are we doing here in the backstage of the drama theatre?” Woohyun called out to Sungyeol. He walked casually to the choding when he received no reply; placing his hand on the latter’s right shoulder, softly shaking him. “Answer me, Owlie!”

Sungyeol turned around with an indescribable look in his eyes, Woohyun flinched at the sight of it and took a step back only to realise that his back was against a cold wall.

“Sungyeol? Umm, what are you doing?” whispered Woohyun. He stopped at the uncomfortable touch of Sungyeol’s hands his sides. “Sungyeol? Stop it, please!”

A sinister smile appeared on Sungyeol’s face, “I don’t think so hyung.”

Woohyun’s eyes enlarged at Sungyeol’s words, and before he knew it, he was trapped. Woohyun was pinned onto the wall, and his feet couldn’t move. He screamed at Sungyeol to stop whatever he was doing, begging to let him go. His attempts to free himself from the choding were weak and pathetic which just made Sungyeol grin more. Sungyeol moved closer to Woohyun who was struggling at his strong grip, until a familiar voice was heard.

“Woohyun! Where are you?”

“Sunggyu hyung! I’m here, help me!” called Woohyun.

Fortunately for him, Sungyeol was surprised at the sound of Sunggyu’s voice. Mustering up all his strength, he kicked the other’s stomach. Woohyun pushed the tall boy out of his way, after Sungyeol loosened his grip from the attack. The black-haired boy sprinted with all the energy he had left, calling out Sunggyu’s name.

“Woohyun? Woohyun! Where are you?”

Sunggyu looked around the stage that he ran up to, after hearing Woohyun’s voice. Worry was evident in his face and tone, looking from side to side frantically. Beads of sweat started to drip down from his forehead. “Woohyun!

“Sunggyu!”

Turning around, Sunggyu saw a sweaty Woohyun crouching down. Unknowingly, he ran to Woohyun and tackled him into the ground, enveloping that latter in a tight hug. Woohyun hugged back, a smile appearing on his face but was replaced with worry that Sungyeol could still be looking for him. Sunggyu noticed Woohyun’s body tense and looked at him.

“What happened?”  Questioned Sunggyu in a serious tone. Woohyun looked up and just shook his head, wanting to forget what happened earlier. “Woohyun?”

“S-Sungyeol, he ah, he-” Woohyun never finished his sentence as Sunggyu hugged him once more. Woohyun melted in the other’s embraced, and buried his head in the older’s neck.

“Where is he?” Sunggyu stood up but stopped when Woohyun hold his hand. Looking at their intertwined hands, he glanced at Woohyun who didn’t want to let go.

“Don’t leave me hyung! Please stay here with me,” His last words were barely a whisper, and Sunggyu fought the urge to let go and find Sungyeol. Before he knew it, Woohyun pulled the redhead back into another tight hug. “Let’s stay like this Sunggyu.”

Sunggyu smiled and patted his dongsaeng’s back. He stiffened when he saw a peculiar figure staring at him. Sunggyu looked around the theatre, noticing the many eyes that were staring at him, him and Woohyun.

“And what are you two doing on my stage?”

Woohyun and Sunggyu looked up to see Mr. Jung looking down at the students with a dissatisfied expression. Heck, they could even feel the tapping of his foot. Sunggyu heard some laughter, and realised the compromising position he and Woohyun were in: he was on top of Woohyun, his hands placed at both sides of Woohyun’s face whereas the latter was holding him tightly around his waist. A cough was heard from the head of the drama department.

Well?” roared Mr. Jung. The two flinched at the tone of the teacher, and looked down. Woohyun saw the worried look on Sunggyu’s face, and was about to open his mouth.

An all too familiar noise was heard, and both the students knew what it was. Turning around, they saw Sungyeol holding a camera, smiling widely and waving at them when he noticed the angry eyes.

“Hi hyungs!” the choding exclaimed. Unfortunately he didn’t notice Mr. Jung’s presence.

You! You are the mastermind behind all this!” bellowed the red-faced teacher. He pointed accusingly at Sungyeol who pouted and shrugged.

“Whatevs, Sir Bull-face,” Sungyeol replied, sticking his tongue out. Mr. Jung took a step back at the action, before furrowing his eyebrows.

“You’ll be done for Lee Sungyeol! Just you wait and see when I tell the headmaster this!”

“Don’t forget me as well!”

Everyone turned their attention to another person standing next to Sungyeol. He wrapped his arm around Sungyeol’s shoulder who pulled a face in disgust. The student just grinned, and flicked the brown-haired boy’s forehead before looking back at a surprised Mr. Jung.

“Hey teach!” The head shook his head in disapproval before glaring at the two students.

Kim Myungsoo! Lee Sungyeol!”
