It has definitely been a challenging year, for both Admin Kelc and myself. With being in college and all. I apologize that I had not been inspired/motivated to write for a long time now. Hopefully this summer I will get motivated again and be able to find the joy in writing once more. So far I would say that I have been doing great and building up my motivation again. I plan to definitely finish this mini-fanfic and possibly write more. I also apologize to all our readers who have been waiting for us to write, but thank you to those who continue to read our work. The weekend had gone by in a flash. You laid in bed on Sunday night thinking back to your date the day before. A smile spread across your lips as you thought back to how sweet D.O was to you and how funny he was. You really enjoyed your time with him.

After the movie the two of you went to the park as you suggested. The movie ended a little late in the evening but the sun was still out. You walked along the path through the park and decided to sit on a hill that would over-look some of the park. As the two of you sat there you both talked about your lives.

To your surprise you were even comfortable enough to tell him that you lived alone since your mother had been killed in a horrible accident a year ago. You also explained to him that, that was the reason why you had stopped singing in the first place. He just sat there nodding in understanding and gently (but a bit awkwardly) patted your back to comfort you. After the sun had set D.O said it was started to get colder and darker so he’d walk you home. Of course, you agreed to it. On the walk home the backs of your hands brushed a couple times. D.O suddenly, slowly slipped his hand into yours and glanced at you to make sure what he was doing was alright. You smiled shyly at him feeling your face turn a light shade of pink. Once you reached your apartment building he stopped at the entrance of the lobby and smiled. You had told him that you had a great time and that you wanted to do this again with him. He smiled like a fool, your words making him the happiest man in the world at that moment. The two of you stood in silence just gazing at each other for a bit before he leaned in-

Bzzzzzz. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

The sound of your phone vibrating on the night stand interrupted your thoughts. You picked up your phone and took a look at it. It was Kai.

(Kai=bold; you=regular)

_______! You awake?!

Yes…. why?

Do you remember if we had anything to turn in for dance tomorrow???

I don’t believe we do

Oh okay. thanks :D

Why are you still awake? it’s late. go to sleep.

Yah… wait… why are you still awake????

I was about to go to sleep. but SOMEONE woke me up.

oh… sorry ;;;;

You chuckled and simply replied: Good night Kai~ see you tomorrow :)

With that you put your phone down and went to sleep.

The next morning as you were walking to school you saw D.O waiting at the front gates of the school and smiled. The moment he saw you he smiled brightly and waved.

You walked up to him and smiled brightly, “What are you doing here so early?”

He just shrugged and smiled, “Changing things up today.”

You chuckled and nodded, “Ah, okay.”

“Have you eaten yet?”

“Aniyo… I never eat breakfast…”

“Mwoh?! You should! It’s like the most important meal of the day!”

You just chuckled and shook your head, “Thanks for the lecturing mom,” you joked with him.

He just chuckled, “Wanna go get something to eat?”

You nodded, “Sure.”

Kai looked at his phone, “He left early. AGAIN.”

The other’s chuckled and shook their heads, “What has gotten into him lately?” Chanyeol chuckled, “He never wakes up early.”

Sehun grinned, “It must be the new girl.” Sehun and Kai proceeded to give each other high fives and snicker to themselves. Chanyeol just shook his head and laughed, “Well at least he’s actually doing something with his life… he seems more lively these days. It’s a nice change.”

As the group approached the gates they saw you and D.O coming from the opposite direction. The two of you were laughing and smiling at each other. It was a side of him that they only saw when they hung out together, they never seen D.O this happy with someone else.

They slowed their pace and watched as the two of you passed them, then they decided to sneak behind the two of you to keep an eye on the two of you.

“What are you guys doing?” Kris said a bit loudly as he saw the younger ones acting weird.

They jumped at the sound of Kris’s voice and their eyes darted to look at the two of you to make sure that neither of you noticed that they were following you. Chanyeol quietly shushed Kris and pointed ahead at you and D.O. Kris squinted his eyes to see what Chanyeol was pointing to, “…Is that… D.O?” They all nodded simultaneously. “Are they… dating?” Kris looked back at the group. They all shrugged.

As D.O and you walked into the school gates after getting some breakfast, D.O could feel something strange… like someone was watching them. Then he head the familiar booming voice of Kris and already knew that it was his friends… he would have a lot of questions to answer at lunch.

He proceeded to walk with you to English class. He went to his seat and you to yours. He couldn’t help but smile during the whole class period, he also couldn’t help but glance back at you every once in a while. Or shoot you the occasional text saying how boring the lecture was that day. When the class finished you packed up your things and waited for D.O to walk over.

“Where’s your next class?” He asked starting to lead the way out of the classroom.

“It’s history… so on the second floor, you?”

“Biology, just down the hall… want me to walk you to your next class?”

You chuckled, “No, it’s too far, you’ll be late to class. I wouldn’t want that to happen.”

He smiled softly and nodded hesitatingly, “Arasso… I’ll see you during music then?” You nodded and waved goodbye before moving into the flow of students to head to your next class.

As the next few classes passed by D.O just wished that the clock would speed up so he could see you again. A bright smile played on his lips while he was sitting in class when he received a text message from you asking how class was going. He replied that it was alright and just wanted it to be music class already… every other class just seemed unnecessary.

As the bell rang signaling the end of class and the start of lunch, D.O quickly packed up his things and headed out of the classroom. He heaved a sigh and shook his head when he saw Kris, Suho, and Chanyeol waiting for him at his locker. He already knew what was coming. He quickly made his way over to them and opened his locker to put his books away.

“So…..” Chanyeol started grinning like a huge fool.

D.O ignored him and quickly closed his locker and walked away quickly to avoid their questions. He tried to walk faster than them but Kris had already caught up and slung his arm around D.O’s shoulders.

“Stop avoiding it. You have to have known this was coming.”

D.O heaved a sigh and shook his head, “Why don’t we save the questions for the table so I don’t have to answer the same questions twice.”

The three chuckled and nodded as they walked into the cafeteria. They got into line and grabbed their food. D.O could already feel the sly grins and whispers from the table as he walked closer and sat down in his normal spot. All eyes shifted to him and smirks ate at him as he tried to start eating normally, but the weight of their stares were just too much to bare and he put his fork down.

“Ask.” He kept his eyes on his food not wanting to look at a single one of them.

No one said anything for a while but they kept looking at each other, until Kai spoke up, “So… are you and _____ dating?”

“…Yeah…” He said calmly.

They gasped and he could hear a high five going on, his eyes shot up to see who was high-fiving who and why. It was the maknaes of the group and he shook his head.

“WE KNEW IT!!!” Sehun said a bit loudly and laughed not caring that others were starting to look at their table. D.O quickly reached across the table and slapped Sehun’s head. Sehun just chuckled and high-fived Kai again. Suho chuckled, “Would explain why you’ve been acting weird lately." 

"When did you guys go on a date?” Tao asked tilting his head, oblivious to the whole situation. 

“Um… this past weekend.”

“What?! Is that why you refused to come play video games at my house?!” Tao gasped and frowned. 

Everyone at the table chuckled and shook their heads. D.O didn’t care the moment he saw you walk past their table with your headphones in heading towards the cafeteria exit. He smiled as he looked around at his friends who were smiling and genuinely happy for him, he was happy as well.

“Hey guys… I uh… gotta go,” D.O smiled as he stood up.

“Hey how’s your song coming along?” Baekhyun piped up stopping D.O for just a second.

“It’s… coming along,” he lied. He knew he had to complete it soon, the talent show was in a few days and he still had the same thing he had about a couple weeks ago. Nothing. He quickly got up and waved goodbye to his friends before he made his way out of the cafeteria to follow you. He smiled as he saw you lightly dancing to whatever it was you were listening to as you made your way down the hallway towards the dance classrooms. He chuckled to himself and continued to quietly follow behind you, letting you be in your own world for the moment. As you walked into dance classroom, you placed your bag down at the back of the class and plugged your ipod into the stereo. You smiled as you started to move around the empty practice room gracefully.

D.O smiled as he watched you from the doorway. He loved seeing the way you glided across the room. He continued to watch as you danced to the song. You reminded him of one of those elegant butterflies he saw around the garden that one morning. Once the song had ended he opened the door and leaned against the door frame and started to clap. At the sudden sound you jumped and your head darted towards the source of the sound. You sighed and chuckled softly turning to face him, “Yah~ you scared me.”

He chuckled and pushed himself off of the door frame and walked towards you, “Mianhae I couldn’t help but to applaud a great performance.”

You chuckled and shook your head at him, he gently took both of your hands in his, “You dance so well.”

“Thank you~” You chuckled and smiled at him.

He lifted your right hand to his lips and placed a soft kiss on your knuckles, “Are you going to dance for the talent show?”

You thought for a moment and shrugged, “I’m not sure if I will enter the talent show…”

“Why not?! You’re great~!”

You chuckled and shook your head at him, “Hajima~” He couldn’t help but chuckle and smile, “I’m just telling you what I see, and pretty much everyone else. You dance so elegantly… like a butterfly…” You smiled and scrunched your nose at him, “A butterfly? I don’t think so.”

He smiled and nodded, “Neh like a butterfly.”

You shook your head again, he smiled and looked up at the ceiling with a bright smile, “you’re my butterfly…” He glanced down at you to see your reaction. You laughed out and lightly hit his chest at his cheesy remark. “Yah~!” He laughed and ran across the room seeing you lift your hand to lightly whack him again. He smiled and you laughed as you playfully chased him around but stopped plopping to sit down in the middle of the class. He smiled and sat next to you. You shook your head at him and he smiled as he chuckled at how you were so shy about the pet name he wanted to use for you.

You smiled, “So mister cheesy, what are you doing for the talent show?”

He smiled and didn’t mind the change in subject, “Well I’m planning on writing my own song.”

“Jinjja?”

He nodded, “I have to work on it during my free period.” You nodded smiled, “Ah I see, well good luck with that, I can’t wait to hear it.” He smiled and looked at the time, “I should go soon.” You nodded and smiled gazing at him warmly, “Neh you should so you can work on that song of yours.”

He nodded and lightly his lips as he gazed back at you. He gently started to lean in, your eyes falling shut as well as his.

Sehun and Kai were laughing as they left the cafeteria nearing the end of their lunch. The two had gotten their things out of their lockers and walked towards the dance classroom. They were chatting and talking about how they were totally right about D.O liking you. They were a bit proud of being able to deduce that from seeing the two of you interact and how he had started acting at the mention of your name.

The two smiled and burst into the dance room but stopped in their tracks as they saw you and D.O leaning in towards each other. But at the sound of their entrance, the two of you had separated quickly.

Sehun and Kai blinked as they say the two of you pull away from each other.

“S-Sorry we didn’t know the two of you were going to be in here…” Sehun stuttered a bit and bit his bottom lip. Kai nodded in agreement.

D.O cleared his throat as he got up on his feet once again. He grabbed his backpack and smiled down at you, “I’ll see you in music class.” He smiled sheepishly before he turned to Sehun and Kai and walked past them out the door. The moment he left the two smirked and moved to sit next to you, their smirks still plastered on their faces. You looked up at them and blinked looking between the two, they wiggled their eyebrows playfully at you. You squinted your eyes and them and lightly hit both of them on their shoulders. They instantly broke out in laughter at how embarrassed you were in that moment.

D.O made his way down the hall towards the empty music room. He sighed and placed his bag down on his desk then pulled out one of his notebooks. He opened it up to the page that he had started to compose his song for the talent show on. He walked over to the piano with his notebook and a pencil and sat, hoping that he’d be able to get some inspiration to write or at least figure out the melody or just anything in general for the song.

As he sat there he tested out a few keys on the piano that would work well together. He started to compose the song piece by piece throughout his free period. Of course, the sound would eventually attract some people to the room, being as he hadn’t closed the door completely.

D.O sighed and hung his head a bit as he tried to write lyrics to match this song that he had just composed. He looked up hearing the door open to the music room. He blinked in surprise seeing a girl standing there with a smile on her face. He had recognized her as one of the girls that were, as Sehun and Kai put it, “the president of his fan base.” He wasn’t sure why she was there and he didn’t care for her presence too much, he just wanted to figure out some lyrics for this song.

“…You’re song sounded really beautiful,” the girl said as she moved closer to him leaning against the piano.

He just nodded and sighed, “…Thanks…”

She puffed her cheeks a little frustrated with the fact that he wasn’t really paying any attention to her. She started to wonder if the rumors were true, that D.O had some how been infatuated with this new girl, but she didn’t want to believe it. “…Is this for the talent show?”

D.O just responded with a slight nod.

“…Can I hear what you have so far?” She continued to urge him on.

He sighed and nodded, “Sure.” He willingly agreed because she wasn’t doing any harm and she must have heard bits and pieces from outside.
As he started to play she smiled and moved to sit next to him, he was thrown off a little by the action but didn’t let it go. Once he had finished playing he glanced at her to catch her reaction, she smiled brightly and started to clap.

“That was beautiful~! …but… no lyrics?” She looked at him and blushed seeing his gaze and quickly looked away. Being the oblivious, non-responsive guy that he was, didn’t notice a thing. Instead he just shook his head and sighed, “I’ve been trying to figure that out for the past 3 weeks or so… and today probably the past half hour.”

The girl smiled and gently placed her hand on his, “Why don’t you relax for a bit, have some fun then maybe it will come to you?” He glanced at her hand that was on his and gently pulled it away. She nodded encouraging him, trying to convince that a little fun might help him to focus better. He eventually agreed to this and chuckled softly, “Fine… what do you suggest?” She smiled brightly and placed her fingers on the piano and started to play a fun tune of a familiar song. D.O smiled softly instantly recognizing the song and started to happily sing along to the tune. As the two remained like that, D.O was actually enjoying himself and was able to relax. She smiled and laughed with him, she stood up grabbing her bag off the ground. She turned to face him smiling as he stood up as well.

On the other hand you, Kai, and Sehun were having fun in your dance class. Luckily since the teacher encouraged the class to participate in the talent show there was nothing much you could do towards the end of class and got to leave early.

“_____~” Sehun smiled and draped one of his long lanky arms around your shoulders, “Will you be participating in the talent show too?”

Kai smiled and walked up on the other side of you, “Yeah, we are~ and so is your boyfriend. You should enter too!”

You chuckled and shook your head, “I don’t think I will join.”

“Aw come on you have too~!” Sehun pulled you closer to him, “come on~~~”

You chuckled and lightly hit the whiny giant making him release his grasp on you a bit, “Arasso, arasso I’ll think about it, okay?”

Sehun and Kai grinned happily and nodded. You slipped out from under Sehun’s arm and smiled waving to them, “I’m going to head to my next class~” They both nodded and waved goodbye and turned to walk the opposite direction towards their lockers.

As you walked down the hallway you could hear a soft tune floating down the hallway, as well as a very familiar singing voice. You smiled brightly and walked faster towards the music room. As you neared the door of the classroom you froze hearing a girl’s voice in the room. You walked slower, eavesdropping on what was happening.

“Well, I should head to my next class now.”

He chuckled softly and smiled at her, “Thank you, it actually made me relax… I think I’ll be able to work on the song now.” 

You walked up to the door and looked in through the window on the door, of course you hid off to the side a bit though to not get caught. You watched the two as they parted. But what happened next made you feel sick to your stomach. You watched as the girl stepped closer to D.O and pressed her lips to his. Your hands lifted to cover your mouth and your eyes brimmed with tears. You watched as D.O just stood there, he didn’t push her away at all and you felt like your heart was ripping to shreds as you stood there. You couldn’t take it any more and ran down the hall. You ran past Sehun and Kai and out of the school’s gates. You ran straight home.

Kai and Sehun looked at you running past them then back at each other.
