CHAPTER ELEVEN
Black ParadiseCHAPTER ELEVEN
You are a puppet. You are meant to follow everything you’re told to do. A puppet that follows everything he’s told to do; not because he wanted to but because he had to. What held the puppet’s strings wasn’t a puppeteer; it was the person he cherished the most.
Hakyeon flashed Taekwoon a small (and comforting) smile before allowing the man to pull him into a room he knew all too well. It was actually just like any other room in the building, except this room had another occupant besides Hakyeon himself. Between them was a table. Hakyeon looks at the table and frowns, eyeing the object on the table.
It was then that Hakyeon hears the voice he has heard a million times. “You know what to do, Hakyeon. Just aim and pull the trigger and that man’s misery will end and once again, you’ll rid the world of yet another evil,” Hakyeon’s eyes darken and he slowly walks towards the table and lifts the object; a gun. “That’s right, Hakyeon, that’s right. You are an angel, right? Then you’re doing the right things. Yes, that’s right,”
With his eyes empty and void of any emotions, Hakyeon grips the gun and puts his finger on the trigger. The man finally sees the boy pointing a gun on him and his eyes widen. “B-Boy w-w-what are you doing? Put that thing down, it’s dangerous! No-,” bang.
Hakyeon watches as the man grips his stomach before he falls to the ground; a pool of blood surrounding him shortly after. Hakyeon blinks his eyes and looks around the room. His gaze lands on the bloody man on the floor a few feet from him and his lips turn into a frown.
Hakyeon throws the gun away and frantically wipes his hands clean. He falls to the ground and covers his ears to block out the imaginary voice he hears. “No, no, stop, I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t do anything wrong. Stop saying that, stop!”
From the opposite room, Taekwoon flinched when he heard the older boy shout. Standing up and ignoring the bloody man a few feet from him, he ran towards the room and kicked open the door. He sees a sight he never expected from the elder.
Hakyeon was on his knees, crying. A few meters from him were a gun and a lifeless body. From his position, Taekwoon sees that Hakyeon’s shot was very accurate; it had him the man right on the center of his head. But Taekwoon ignored all of this and walked towards the boy. Taekwoon didn’t know what to do to comfort the boy so he did what he thought could help; he pulled the boy closer to him and wrapped his arms around the crying boy. Taekwoon awkwardly patted the boy’s back.
It took a couple of minutes but soon, Hakyeon was calm enough to move himself away from the younger boy. Frantically wiping his tears, he gave a short, dry laugh before looking at Taekwoon. “Sorry you had to see me like that, Taekwoon. I’m embarrassed,” Hakyeon said, attempting to lighten the atmosphere. Taekwoon, however, didn’t believe it. Of course, he didn’t say anything and just stood up, Hakyeon following after.
“What do you think, Taekwoon? Is our life to your liking? Does it give you the thrill you seek?” Taekwoon, surprised of the boy’s sudden change in tone, stops walking and looks at Hakyeon; the older boy’s face showed no emotion, nothing of his usual cheery attitude. It was a face familiar to Taekwoon, seeing it once before, but it was still something that sent shivers to his spine; of course, he didn’t show this. Instead, Taekwoon does nothing and continues to stare at the boy. “We could stop and not follow his directions; that’s what you’re thinking, am I right?”
Bingo. Taekwoon was amazed by how pinpoint Hakyeon’s guess was. “We can do exactly that. If my hunch is correct, by the look of things, it seems like only Jaehwan doesn’t know of this place. You, Wonshik and Hongbin seem to know it all too well,” Taekwoon says as he starts walking again. “We can just not listen, you know,” he says, not casting a second glance. Taekwoon, however stops when he hears Hakyeon’s dry (and somewhat maniacal) laugh. He turns around and sees something he knows he will never forget in the older boy’s eyes.
“It’s never that simple, Taekwoon. We’re being manipulated. Used.”
Author's Note: Okay, so the reason for being called has been revealed, and so is CHA HAKYEON's role as the LITTLE ANGEL. In this chapter, we can see exactly what happens when one of the boys gets called. What happens during this time and how it happens. As N had said, they are being manipulated; meaning they cannot control their bodies and minds during this phase however it doesn't mean they do not remember anything during this period. Anyway, I'm done focusing on N and Leo. The next chapter will be Ken-centric (not that I've written it or anything). With HAKYEON being revealed to be the LITTLE ANGEL, the BONUS QUESTION is now closed. Comment are loved.
