“You know how in movies where this lead guy falls in love and everything just stops moving for awhile? And suddenly she’s the only one he sees, looking so pretty and oblivious of the inner turmoil of said lead guy is currently having?” Lu Han said seriously, looking Minseok straight in they eye. “Yeah, that. It was amazing, like having glasses and seeing how the world really looked like for the first time. That amazing.”
Sehun snorted from the side, muttering a low, “Cheesy,”
“So...you fell in love just like that?” Minseok asked, unsure. He had an eyebrow raised to show his confusion.
“More like, I’ve probably been in love with her for a long time now,” Lu Han replied after some thought. “I just...didn’t know. That is, until yesterday, I guess. Sehun was there. Ask him what happened,”
Minseok looked over to where Sehun was reading manga from his phone.
“His jaw dropped. And he was blinking really fast. And when noona asked him what was wrong with him, he kind of just stuttered as if they weren’t best friends for years,” Sehun drawled out. “He looked stupid,” At the insulted look Lu Han threw at him, Sehun gave a shy smile. “Sorry, Lu Han-hyung, but even Yixing-noona said so,”
“Yeah, yeah,” Lu Han shrugged, “You’re just bitter because she’d never look at you more than a cute younger brother, Sehunnie,”
Sehun pouted, frowning at Lu Han. Lu Han knew of Sehun’s puppy crush on Yixing, and he also knew how much Yixing adored him for being such a cute dongsaeng, nothing more. It was sad, really. It was obvious Lu Ha had more chances of ending up with her in the end, so with that in mind, he gave Sehun a friendly pat on the head. Pat pat, his hand went.
“Sorry, Sehunnie. Hyung’s your rival, now,”
“But hyung,” Sehun started, looking up at him with the pout still on his face, “Doesn’t noona only see you as a friend?”
Lu Han froze in his patting. It felt as if a large boulder suddenly landed on his back, and that--the fact that Yixing did look at Lu Han only as a friend--that hurt. All optimism he had flew out his bedroom window, along with his hopes and dreams.
Minseok gave a low snicker, “Oh, friendzoned, huh,”
Lu Han groaned, frustrated. It wasn’t his fault for falling in love Yixing, and a part of him nagged at him continuously, saying, ‘Out of all the girls you could’ve fallen in love with, your stupid heart decided to fall in love with your best friend. Good job, Lu.’
“Don’t worry, I’d support you all the way,” Minseok grinned good-naturedly.
“May the odds be ever in your favor,” Sehun drawled, snickering, “Rival Lu-hyung,”
Lu Han groaned some more. He wasn’t prepared to get rejected by the first girl he ever fell in love with.
