New Friend

✉ "Dear Aunty Kris..." ✉

"To open... Not to open... To open... Not to open... Open..! Ahh!" You shrieked as the last petal on the shriveled flower floated down to the ground. You were now walking to your new classroom together with Lay. So very coincidently, the two of you shared the same homeroom. You sighed as you tossed the bald flower into the bin. Frowning at the yellow file briefly, you couldn't help but to feel curious.

However, you knew it was wrong to peek at others' items, morever something that stated "Private and Confidential". You wouldn't like it, and definitely that guy wouldn't like it either.

Lay put a reassuring arm around you. He seemed to think that you were worried because it was the first day of school. You haven't had the chance to tell him about the attractive boy you bumped into. Besides. You had no idea why you felt like holding on the file longer, when you could just hand it over to the General Office. Maybe it was because you want to see him again?

Lay and you finally entered a classroom on the third floor.
A girl noticed you entering and immediately squealed excitedly, "Hello!!! There are two seats here!" She pointed to the two empty seats, one beside her, and the other one beside a guy sitting behind her. You couldn't help but to smile back as she eyesmiled you happily.

Lay and you made your way awkwardly towards the two seats. You sat beside the girl, while Lay sat beside the guy. He looked up at Lay and stopped whatever he was doing.

"Hello! I am Hwang Miyoung, but you can call me Tiffany!" The girl exclaimed, sticking out her right hand towards Lay and you.
You shook her hand and nodded, "I am Park Mi Eun."
Lay smiled and his dimples appeared, "Zhang Yixing. Call me Lay."
You watched as Tiffany got up, smiling and sat on the desk of Lay's new tablemate.

Tiffany saw your shocked faces and laughed. "It's not what you think. This is my twin brother, Hwang Jongdae! Wae? Don't we look alike?" The two of them moved their faces beside each other's and blinked at Lay and you, looking at you expectantly.

Lay and you exchanged looks and laughed it off awkwardly.
Jongdae spoke. "You can just call me Jongdae. Miyoung here doesn't like her Korean name, unlike me," he smirked as he flicked Tiffany's forehead.
"Hey!" Tiffany frowned as she gave a little pout. "We're from America, if you were wondering." She eyesmiled brightly at you. Even though you barely knew her for five minutes, you immediately took a liking to you.

Jongdae grunted as he got back to his work. Seeing that Jongdae had matters to complete, Lay gently shook his head at both Tiffany and you, mouthing, "Not now".

Jongdae sensed the silence and looked up briefly. He saw Lay shaking his head at the both of you and responded. "Thanks Lay." Lay dimpled and went back to his seat, starting to get ready for the first lesson.

Tiffany chuckled and looked at you. At the very same time, the both of you uttered in unison, "Bromance." Hearing the same word come from both of you at the same time only made you two laugh harder. Tiffany took your hand and dragged her chair towards yours.

"I've a feeling we'll be the best of friends." Tiffany giggled, and I couldn't help but to agree more.

Five minutes past eight and the teacher had yet to arrive. After checking with the teacher next door, it was revealed that our homeroom teacher had a last minute meeting to attend to. Tiffany and you took the time to gossip, while Jongdae had finally opened up a little more and was chatting with Lay. You smiled at the sight. That's the Lay you knew. Always friendly and nice, making people feel comfortable around him.

Tiffany nudged your arm, "Have you seen any eye candy so far?" You froze as a faint blush crept up your cheeks. You suddenly remembered the guy you had bumped into earlier on.

Tiffany didn't seem to notice your reaction, and she continued babbling on excitedly. "You know there's this guy who's only in the first year, but already half of the female population in the school has been smitten with him!" She clasped her hands together dramatically and sighed with a dreamy smile. You couldn't help to laugh at her drama. "Yah, are you exaggerating?" You poked her arm.

"I am not! I'm serious! I swear!" Tiffany raised three fingers and looked at you in alarm. "As Jongdae and I were walking into the school today, we saw a huge crowd of girls. Turned out that the new guy has more suitors than any other sunbae in the school! I even managed to snap a picture of him!" She pointed out. Swiping her phone screen, a rather blurry photo appeared. There was a large crowd of girls around what seemed to be like a stage?

"That's so blur, I can see his face so clearly!" You complained and stuck your tongue out at her.
"Oops. Wrong photo. That was during EXO's fanmeet." Tiffany blushed as she continued swiping.
You shook your head, chuckling.
"Found it!" She beamed and let you see what was on her screen.

Your heart skipped a beat as Tiffany zoomed in on the face. Isn't that...?

Though it wasn't very clear, you could still make out his face. Those nicely shaped eyebrows that weren't too thick. That pair of beautiful brown orbs. The high nose bridge and y lips. That fair and blemish free skin.

It was the guy you had bumped into earlier on.
