The Start of the Story.

Yujin

Couple of weeks flew by and Seunggwan became busier than ever. I tried calling his office and I receive is ‘the number you dialed is currently unavailable, please try again later’.

I tried driving to his place, but he wasn’t there. Tried talking to his secretary, she wouldn’t speak up. Tried to go back to our usual café, not there.

Tried to stroll around our usual park, not there.

Tried to send him letters, no reply and still unopened – I checked.

Tried to get answers from his friends, not even a single word.

Tried to everything, and nothing.

It’s funny how I still do all these things everyday when nothing really happens. But I’m not giving up. And thank God I didn’t, because today was different – soooooo different.

Today I sat beside the floor-to-ceiling window of the café – our usual seat. I took a sip of the warm latte in front of me as I busied myself from reading the new issue of vogue. Everything’s still the same. Soft ballad played throughout the café, the lights were perfectly dim and relaxing, and the calm aura.

Seunggwan and I discovered when we found out that our favorite ice cream shop moved to another place and this café bought their place. I was very miserable at that time. But thanks to Seunggwan, I felt a little bit better. And that’s the story of how I turned to love this café. 

 The sound of bells ringing rang throughout the café which signifies that there’s a new customer. I adjusted my reading glasses but didn’t look up. The thing is, I’m scared. What if it’s him? What if-

I was cut off by a very very very familiar voice. “Yujin?” Raspy,

 “Yujin!” Sweet,

“I’ve missed you!” Voice.

Slowly, I look up and smiled. “Hansol, how are you?”

Seunggwan

She called, followed, threatened, mailed, waited, blackmailed and stalked me and my friends. I was MIA for a couple of weeks and the first thing I got home, this welcomes me. A thousand missed calls and messages, my friends and secretary telling me her fiasco and the mails.

Okay heads up, I was gone for weeks because I promise Sumin – now called as my girlfriend – needs to fly to Milan and London and she needed me to be there with her. It’s her first time walking down on a big show and she needs my support. And for those weeks, everything I see, hear and breathe is her. Nothing else matt
