NINE – Hidden feelings...

[JESSE P.O.V]

“J-Jesse!?”

Oh boy… I’m dead…

Great! Now I am officially doomed! Tiffany Hwang was right before me and staring at me quizzically. Think, Jesse! Think! If she discovers my disguise, I am totally dead! Okay, time to put my acting skills into action! Trying to look ‘confused’, I frowned and adjusted my glasses while speaking with a ‘nonchalant’ tone:

“Excuse me, miss? What did you call me?” 

She then looked confused and shook her head after staring at me carefully again. Yet, when I took a good look into her eyes, I realized that they were gloomy and slightly puffy, as if she had just cried. Unconsciously, I felt a tug on my heart; I wonder what happened to her… She massaged her temples and muttered with apologetic tone:

“Hmm… I am sorry, b-but you remind me of somebody…” “Somebody?”

I pretended to look curious as I pressed on. So, she chuckled weakly and replied:

“Yeah, someone important to me… Jesse Jung…”

All of sudden, my face heated up when she mentioned the word ‘important’ and my heart pounded erratically. So that means I am important to her?! Wow… this is nice; aish, Jesse snap out of it! Don’t forget that she still is a player! Shaking my head to brush my thoughts away, I saw her looking directly at me as she spoke with a soft tone:

“I’m sorry for asking that… but what is your name?”

Oh, cr@p! What should I do now?! I can’t give her my name! While I was thinking, she was staring at me intently, waiting for my answer. So something clicked in my head and I rapidly blurted in nervousness:

“It’s So-Sooyeon!” I automatically face palmed myself in my mind; well at least my Korean name worked for something. With that, she glanced at me as if I was crazy due my reaction, but I guess she decided to let this one slide. In order to not look weirder that I was, I regained my calm as I asked gently:

“And you are Miss Hwang Tiffany… the main singer of TTS, right?”

She looked surprised at my remark and her eyes practically begged me not to make any commotion. As if I had read her mind, I raised my hands as I spoke with a safe grin:

“Don’t worry, Tiffany-shi. Your secret is safe with me.” It was then she sighed in relief and muttered a ‘thank you’, which make me smile slightly. She then looked at me as if she was analyzing my features, when all of sudden, she chuckled and remarked gently:

“It’s funny, no one ever addressed me like this… except Jesse… you two are really so similar…”

However, a loud gulp formed in my throat when I realized that she still was staring at me intently. This isn’t good, she might discover everything! I need an excuse and now! It was then something clicked and I tried to look as convincing as possible. So I brushed my bangs and added with a nervous tone:

“Yeah… m-maybe because we are… cousins???” I almost squeaked at the last part.

I know; I know… this was the dumbest excuse that I have ever thought up, but it seems that she bought that. I can tell this when she nodded slowly, still trying to digest my words. After some seconds, she suddenly widened her eyes and her tone heightened one octave:

“Wait! Are you… JESSE’S COUSIN?!” And they say that I am slow…

Nonetheless, I forced a smile and nodded my head slowly. I then finally saw her gloomy face light up when she mentioned the name ‘Jessie’. Oh God, why is my heart beating so loudly and fluttering wildly? I shook my head as I felt her tugging my hand like a naïve and overzealous kid as she spoke in an excited tone:

“SO… DOES HE TALK ABOUT ME? WHAT DOES HE THINK OF ME? Please, I wanna know everything! Pleaseeeeeeeeeee?”

Okay, where is the usual spoiled princess that I know. I couldn’t help but feel surprised at her actions, so of course I looked stunned with all this skinship. However, it suddenly looked like she noticed my blank stare, whilst thankfully not noticing my blush. She then quickly pulled her hands away and spoke with an embarrassed voice:

“Sorry for disturbing you… I don’t want you to think that I am a noisy or bad person… I have a lot to improve on… or else… Jesse won’t be proud of me… *sigh*”

WHAT?! SO SHE DID CARE ABOUT WHAT I TOLD HER?! Ya, stop it! Don’t smile, Jesse! Don’t smile! You can’t melt! But this means something! At least she is trying… that’s good! Anyway, I tried my best to look composed and, of course, I couldn’t burst her bubble, right? So, I smirked at her and replied nonchalantly:

“Don’t worry, Tiffany-shi. You are not bothering me at all. But Jesse told me good things about you actually…” “He did?!” In one fluid motion, she turned her head towards me and I swear I could see a glow in her eyes, it was just… wow… Err, anyway, I was getting nervous due her direct stare and proximity. So, I couldn’t help but stammer:

“Y-yeah… he told me t-that you were a little spoiled girl at first”

Aish, cr@p! How could I let this one slide?! OMG, she will kill me! But then… my body froze when I heard her hearty laughter as she spoke apologetically:

“I guess you are right, he would say something like that…”

However, a sincere smile formed on my lips as I continued speaking the truth:

“Yes, but he also told me that you are very good person once someone gets to know you. Very lively, clumsy and happy too. Yet, I guess he missed something… because I am not seeing a lively and happy Tiffany-shi… this one before me seems troubled and sad…”

I and my sharp tongue; but I couldn’t help it, I was worried about her. Still, I don’t like asking people about their problems because I don’t want to look nosy. However, I saw that she tensed a little and looked down to hide her sad semblance. So, I extended my hand and placed it on her shoulder as I spoke warmly:

“Look, my shift has ended and if you noticed, there is a coffee shop across from us. I know that this might sound weird coming from a stranger… but I am a good listener and you have my word that I’ll keep whatever you want to tell me confidential”

Honestly, I didn’t know what got over me, but I couldn’t let her go like this, I knew she was sad about something, yet I couldn’t ruin my disguise. After awhile, she stared at me deeply like as if she was pondering her thoughts. To make her more at ease, I smiled and replied playfully:

“Caramel coffee?”

With that, she finally smiled genuinely and nodded her head. I breathed in relief, removed my apron and together, we went to the coffee shop.

[NORMAL P.O.V]

With YoonHyun…

“So, how is your potato?” Yoong asked with an amused tone as he gently stared the girl beside him. It seems that Seohyun was having a good time with her favorite meal; she nodded her head in excitement as the deer boy giggled at her childish behavior:

“Well… its seemed that it’s very good, haha.”

After she gulped the food down in satisfaction, she blushed coyly and spoke with a smile:

“It was, oppa! It’s has been so long since the last time I ate such tasty sweet potatoes. I wonder how did you know about it?”

Yet, the boy laughed heartily and spoke with a nonchalant tone:

“Let’s say that it was a good hunch!” However, the shy girl blinked a few times, trying to digest the information. The alligator guy then noticed her questionable stare and all of sudden, hunched his shoulders forward and sighed, confessing with a soft muttering:

“Let’s just say that I kinda saw the TV show where you said that the Sweet Potato was your favorite food. Okay, you can say that I am stalker now…”

Nevertheless, he was expecting that this innocent girl would bark at him or even be mad at him for this situation, yet he was pleasantly surprised with the sound of a soft giggle. Looking around, he saw Seohyun placing her hand in front of as she spoke in amusement:

“So… you did watch that show? … Are you my fan by any chance?”

It was then he felt his balloon of hope fill as he fidgeted his fingers timidly, replying:

“If I say that I am your number 1 fan… will you think of me as a creep?”

There was a moment of silence and this was killing Yoong. Yet, everything suddenly turned wet when he found himself being pushed by the laughing girl to the fountain square:

“Yaaaa! Look at me! I am drenched!” “Hahahahahaha!”

Seohyun burst out in laugher when she saw Yoong all soaked due the fountain’s water. Yoong then narrowed his eyes playfully at the maknae and the latter gulped in return. Suddenly, he charged at her and splashed some water on the poor girl:

“Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… oppa!” “Its payback time, Juhyun! Take that!”

Soon, the couple started to splash water on each other like kids, not caring about the weird stares from the people around them. Seohyun faked an angry tone as she warned playfully, getting ready to splash him again:

“Oppa… you better apologize now…”

“Ha! Catch me if you can, Hyunnie!”

He even made a ‘merong’ face as he tried to flee from her intense ‘attacks’. They kept playing ‘tag’ when the deer guy suddenly hugged Seohyun from behind and both of them end up falling onto the ground, bursting out in laughter. Once their laughter had ceased slowly, however, they suddenly realized what position they were in, which was Seohyun lying on top of him and both of them panting hard. They held an intense stare for a moment before both of them averted their eyes in shyness. A blushing Yoong stood up and extended his hand to help the maknae to stand up carefully. However, the shy girl tripped on him and they end up laughing as she scolded herself:

“Aish, I’m sorry, oppa. Its just I’m a little clumsy.  You can go ahead while I tie my shoelaces.”

Nonetheless, when the maknae was about to tie her sneakers, something unexpected happened. Promptly, the deer boy kneeled and gingerly tied her shoelaces. He didn’t know, but Seohyun was agape with his action. She couldn’t help, but had this reaction…

Her heart thumped erratically as she watched Yoong with an awestruck expression. No one ever did something like that for her before and this makes her feel warm inside. Soon, her face was flooded with a tint of pink as Yoong stood up with a smile, replying cheerfully:

“There! Now, you are safe to walk!”

Once their stare met, they chuckled nervously in tandem as the brown-haired girl nervously placed her wet hair behind her ear as she looked down. However, seeing that the girl was shivering slightly, Yoong frowned, removed his jacket and placed it around her. Although it was wet, it could still warm her. He rubbed her shoulders gently as he whispered weakly:

“I think I should take you home now or else Yuri noona and Soo hyung would kill me…”

He added in a nervous tone as he shivered at the thought. In return, Seohyun nodded with a smile and genuinely spoke out, not breaking the stare between them:

“Oppa… I don’t have words enough to thank you … it’s been a long time since I had so much fun… I really appreciate this. Thank you.”

Soon, the deer boy’s face heated up and his cheeks got flushed as he faked a cough. Yoong shook his head with an endearing grin as he uttered truthfully:

“Don’t need to thank me, it was a pleasure. If you let me… I would love to repeat this date- Er, I mean this, huh, this encounter again, hehe *chuckles nervously*”

The poor guy stuttered when he accidentally confessed what he had in mind; of course Seohyun didn’t think of this as a date, even though he wanted it to be so much. Yet, he was interrupted with her hearty laughter as she added bashfully:

“It’s a date then…” Now, he was dumbfounded as he stared at her with his big and widened eyes. She kept laughing at his surprised expression when, all of sudden, the mood between them got warm. However, an unfamiliar voice caught their attention:

“Juhyun… is that you?”

Once they looked around, they found a brown-haired boy holding a guitar as he stared at the maknae in awe. He soon walked over to her and asked in confusion:

“What happened to you, Ju Hyunnie? Why are you all wet?”

Ju Hyunnie?! Yoong was aghast when he saw the guy all attentive and caring with the girl of his dreams. He felt a painful stab in his heart as the guy kept talking with Seohyun as if Yoong was invisible. However, to his relief, the maknae noticed this as she added nervously:

“Oh oppa… this is my friend, Yoong oppa. Yoong, this Yonghwa oppa.”

“Hi… but, how are you doing, Seohyun? I never thought that you would be around this area, hahaha” Yonghwa ‘greeted’ Yoong without even taking his eyes from SeoHyun, yet there he was throwing his charms at the shy girl. Yoong, who watched everything with an agape mouth, felt his blood boiling to see this guy totally gushing over his girl! Okay, not his girl… for now… but he has faith to win her heart.

However, he felt out of place when the ‘couple’ was talking happily before him. To show off his skills, Yonghwa answered with his eyes shining in infatuation:

“I just came back from a rehearsal. I learned a new song. Do you wanna hear it?”

“Hmm, oppa, I –“Seohyun tried to intervene after she realized that Yoong was kinda out of the conversation. However, Yonghwa didn’t even listen her plead, as he quickly grabbed his guitar and sang every verse of the new song without breaking his stare from the maknae. The latter gulped in embarrassment as she giggled nervously when she saw Yoong’s not very kind stare towards YongHwa. Nonetheless, before the situation could get out of her control, she clapped her hands and spoke kindly:

“That was … really nice… oppa.” “Hah, thanks, Ju Hyunnie. I knew that you would like it.” The guy said boastfully with a cocky smirk; on the other hand, Yoong was practically steaming due the guy’s obvious flirting. Yonghwa even added with a sly remark:

“I’ll be making a presentation on ‘Dancing with the stars’. I hope you enjoy my song.” The maknae blushed madly and didn’t know where to look. So, she laughed nervously and added, whilst already grabbing Yoong’s hand to leave:

“That’s really good, oppa. Hwaiting… well, I guess… I’ll see you around… err bye!”

Before the guitar guy could say a word, she quickly left while pulling Yoong by his hand and waving to the brown-haired guy. The deer boy didn’t say a word as they made their way back to her dorm. All the time, he was thinking, rather, “slaying” him in his mind due Yonghwa’s cocky remarks. Right now, whatever it is about this show, he will be sure to take part; plus, he will take guitar’s lessons only to shove his efforts at this Yong guy’s face.

[NORMAL P.O.V]

With JeTi…

Ten minutes passed and the caramel coffees were getting cold. Not even a word left Tiffany’s lips as she looked at the coffee dully. Jesse, of course kept silent since he didn’t want to push the girl, if she wanted to speak, she will; or else, at least he can offer his company in return. However, the ginger-haired girl suddenly sighed and looked outside the window. At that point, she started tiredly:

“It all happened last night…”

{FLASHBACK}

Tiffany had just came back from Jeju Island after her ‘honeymoon’ with Jesse and, no, nothing rated happened there. However, she felt like she was on cloud nine, at least she got to know Jesse a little more and now, she simply can’t help but fall more and more for him. He is so different from her past love experiences; he can be hot and cold at the same time, and this trait particularly makes her heart go wild.

Right now, she was in front of her dormitory door as she grabbed her keys inside her jacket pocket. An inevitable smile grew on her face as she recalled all events with Jesse. Her failed cooking moment, their swimming moment; all that time, he showed his care and concern towards her. Jesse simply entered in her life and, without consciously knowing it, already stole her heart away, but then… Tiffany sighed once she remembered something or rather… someone…

“Hey babe.” The ginger-haired girl nearly jolted in surprise when someone crept from a shadow on the wall, it was him… Wooyoung. Somehow, she felt uneasy with him around or because she didn’t tell him about the WGM’s rules. Yes, she discovered that she was indeed legally married with Jesse after their wedding ceremony and honestly, she couldn’t feel happier. But now, she couldn’t help but feel afraid of Wooyoung’s reaction. The latter was before her eyes and his semblance wasn’t very good. Before she could start:

“Listen, oppa--- I” “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?!”

Tiffany flinched at his outburst but let him do it. Looking down, she nibbled her lips and stuttered:

“Oppa! I would have told you once I came back; I only discovered it a few days ago! I swear that it was the WGM’s idea, nothing more happened. I promise! Please, stay calm.”

However, the dark-haired guy scoffed with an angry aura as he barked back:

“Really?! Oh, I am delighted to hear that! I am really delighted to know that MY GIRLFRIEND IS MARRIED TO THAT SCUMBAG! HOW CAN YOU ASK ME TO STAY CALM?!”

Yet, as the ginger-haired girl tried to reach his shoulders, he shook his head and replied with a low and furious tone:

“How far did you go with… him?” At his last word, his teeth were gritted in anger and jealousy as he glared at the frightened Tiffany. The latter quickly shook her head in anger at his remark and finally yelled, feeling offended:

“How can you say that?! What do you think I am?! Do you think that I am that easy?!”

“Listen, babe… I – I didn’t mean that! But you have to understand that you are mine! No one else can touch you! You belong only to me!”

Wooyoung added harshly while his hands curled in anger; meanwhile Tiffany just shook her head and replied bitterly:

“What am I to you? Your property? How do you think I felt when I saw you with all those girls fawning over you a month ago? But then, you are so totally self-absorbed that you can’t even see your own mistakes!”

“Babe, they were just friends! Besides, you know that I dislike that Jesse guy! I have all the right to have you! I am warning you, I don’t want you close to him! He is just a nobody! A scumbag! Nothing compared to me! You are mine and mine alone, are you listening to me?!”

Nevertheless, Tiffany scoffed at that remark and finally opened her dormitory door with tears threatening to fall from her eyes. It was then she spoke her last words filled with anger:

“I can’t stay away from him because he is my husband on WGM! Even if he wasn’t, I would rather be with him than with a possessive guy like you. GOOD NIGHT!”

With that, she slammed the door in his face and locked it. Soon, one by one, her tears started to roll down her delicate face. She could still listen to his yells or how he banged the door. This was the first time that their fights had turned so ugly. They had already been together for sometime and Wooyoung was always possessive; but now, it was impossible to breathe. Afterwards, she heard her manager’s voice and with that Wooyoung finally left. But at that moment, Tiffany couldn’t see a thing as she dragged herself to her bed, hugged her pillow and cried until she fell asleep. Right now, she could only dream and think… about Jesse.

{END FLASHBACK}

Jesse was genuinely shocked; he couldn’t ever imagine what Tiffany had endured with that jerk Wooyoung. How could that guy treat her like this? Of course he knows that this ginger-haired girl wasn’t perfect, yet she shouldn’t be treated so coldly, much more when it was because of him. He sympathized with her pitiful semblance and felt his heart touched; he never imagined what he meant to Tiffany. Now, thousand of butterflies were flying inside his stomach. However, he snapped back to reality when Tiffany spoke sadly:

“There, you can give me a lecture now… I know I deserve it…”

She said that whilst drinking her almost cold caramel coffee. Putting the cup down, a frown was imprinted on her beautiful forehead. After awhile, Jesse stared at her seriously and shook his head while replying nonchalantly:

“Nope… I don’t think you need a lecture at all…” “What?” She asked in surprise as she raised her eyebrows. Jesse grinned slightly at the scene, but then, he spoke softly:

“Like I said before, I am a good listener, but I don’t think I am a good speaker. However, may I ask you something in particular?”

The ginger-haired girl pondered her thoughts a little, but decided to nod since she was feeling so comfortable with this boy and she simply knew that he was being sincere. So, having been given her permission, Jesse sighed and spoke slowly:

“I don’t want to meddle into your personal life, but… if this guy treats you like this… why are you still with him?”

It was a question that has been on her mind for awhile. She tried to recall the reasons, yet finally Tiffany ended up sighing tiredly:

“Well, this was in the past. I had lost my mom when I was 12 years old and then I fought with my dad to chase my dream to be a singer, here in South Korea. Tae and Seohyun were my only friends back then. Yet, there he was … every girl’s dream. Nice, caring, sweet; he came in a moment of my life that I needed someone the most. Plus, I had just lost contact with my first love at the same time, so bit by bit… I realized that I was falling for Wooyoung…”

Her words on Jesse’s heart like a sharp knife, yet at the same time, he was amazed with this girl’s strength. Who would have realized that she had gone through so much to be where she is today. However, he couldn’t help but feel a slight pang of hurt and jealousy when she spoke about Wooyoung. He wanted to be the one to be at her side, honestly, he always was there, yet she failed to notice him… but not anymore. Once she had told her story, they noted that the mall was closing and that only a few persons were still walking around. Tiffany seemed to notice this too and she chuckled weakly, speaking shyly:

“Oh my… I didn’t realize that I had talked so much. I guess I bothered you a lot today *chuckles*” Tiffany flushed in embarrassment when she saw the time on her wristwatch. However, Jesse just shook his head with a grin and waved his hand dismissively:

“Don’t you worry; you didn’t bother me at all. Actually, I am happy that you trusted me to tell your story. I just hope you are feeling better…”

“I am… *chuckles* you are good listener indeed.” The ginger-haired girl added with a smile as Jesse blushed in return and lowered his head. They both then stood up from their seats and walked out of the coffee shop. At that point, Jesse couldn’t help asking:

“Hmm, Tiffany-shi?” The latter chuckled and asked in amusement: “Yes, Sooyeon?”

The brown-haired guy frowned in curiosity as he uttered carefully:

“What really brought you to my store? I mean, there are a lot of better stores in this mall and I was wondering about your reason for entering there, since the store layout is so plain…”

At his question, Tiffany looked up while she was thinking deeply and suddenly realized that ‘Sooyeon’ was right in asking her that. So, shrugging her shoulders, the ginger-haired girl replied nonchalantly:

“To be honest, I don’t know. I was walking by this mall aimlessly, but when I saw your store… it seems that my feet automatically brought me here… and actually… I am happy that this happened.” To prove her point, Tiffany even smiled and bedazzled the poor Jesse. He didn’t know why, but his traitor heart insisted on pounding erratically under his ribcage. However, it was now Tiffany’s turn to speak as she got serious and held Jesse’s arm carefully:

“Hmm, Sooyeon?” Jesse stopped in his tracks, gulped and stared at her expectantly. So, the K-Pop princess nibbled her lower lip and whispered softly:

“Could you not… tell this to Jesse? I don’t want him to get worried or think that I am a big spoiled girl that can’t solve her own problems.”

Sympathizing with her situation, Jesse adjusted his glasses, smirked sincerely as he tapped her hand affectionately:

“As I said before, your secret is safe with me, Tiffany-shi. I won’t say a word, I promise.” Yes, the girl before him was once again amazed with his sincerity; she could see in his eyes that he was telling the truth. To be honest, those same eyes were so familiar and captivating… maybe it’s the Jung’s genes. Soon, she smiled and remarked playfully:

“I don’t usually talk with strangers… but I don’t know… I can’t help, but feel really comfortable around you. Once again… thanks for listening to me… I know I can be very annoying at times.”

Jesse laughed heartily in return and shook his head, saying:

“Don’t worry, you are not annoying. So, whenever you want talk or relax, I am here Tuesday to Thursday. And you don’t need to thank me; it was a pleasure, Tiffany-shi.”

“Okay… and Sooyeon?” “Yes?” “Call just Tiffany from now on.” “Oh… okay… Tiffany.”

Jesse replied with a tint of amusement in his tone; his face heated up when he saw her genuine smile for the first time that night. He was awestruck, but to his unhappiness, it soon came time for her to leave him, so she bowed and waved gently, finally leaving him. The brown-haired guy just waved back in return as he watched her leave, whilst unconsciously his heartbeat doubled once he recalled the previous events. Who would not say that Tiffany Hwang was changing? Listening to those things being said about him by her own lips… it was delightful indeed. Although neither one of them realized it, their collective hearts were beating really loudly and a stubborn smile would soon creep onto their cheeks. In fact, Tiffany was still amazed and happy to find someone as great as her dear Jesse.

[NORMAL P.O.V] 

On the next weekend...

“SJY! Come right here, I need to talk with you!”

The tanned manager yelled at the singers as the latter came to the dorm’s living room. Once they arrived, Sooyoung gave a flier to each one of them; the band looked quizzically at their manager as Yoong asked confusedly:

“Dancing with the Stars? What is this supposed to mean, hyung?”

All of sudden, Sooyoung gave them his original mischievous smirk as he spoke to them confidently:

“This is supposed to mean that all of you are invited for that show! Isn’t awesome?!”

However, the blonde-haired boy stood up from the couch and asked carefully:

“Er, hyung? How can we be invited if the rules of that TV show says that only one member of each group can participate?”

As always, the tall manager seemed to be expecting that question. So with a sly smile, he tapped Jesse’s shoulder and spoke with confidence:

“Nice question, Jesse. Actually, I already have someone right here in front of me, hmm?” When it finally clicked, Jesse widened his eyes and shook his head vehemently, sputtering nervously:

“But, hyung! I am not the best dancer! Yoong or Sunny can do that so much better than me!”

But Sooyoung’s smile widened as he shook his head while explaining nonchalantly:

“I am afraid not, since Yoong and Sunny will have their own numbers. So they will be very busy.”

“WHAT?” Sunny and Yoong asked in unison as they stared at their manager. Sunny stood up and blurted out loudly:

“A solo number, oppa?! But why?!”

Sooyoung just shrugged his shoulders and sat on the couch as he simply uttered:

“I am sorry, guys. But this was the show director’s idea. Come on, don’t be afraid. This will be good for all of you. If you are invited, that means that the public love you! Don’t worry, it will be fun!”

He said that as he ruffled “his ‘kids’” hair playfully. Yet, they couldn’t help, but feel worried. There is certainly something fishy going on here.…

On the next day…

At the “Dancing with the Stars” building, many groups were scattered around a large and fancy conference room with their respective managers. All of sudden, the director of the show introduced himself and spoke with all of them about the show’s rules and everything related to it. Meanwhile, SJY was seated with their manager, Sooyoung and a couple meters in front of them was the TTS’s group. Sunny and Yoong were way too happy to see their respective romantic interests whilst Taeyeon and SeoHyun both looked simply delighted as well.

However, Jesse only watched Tiffany silently, thinking about everything that the girl confessed to him a few days ago while he was just “Sooyeon”. He could feel himself changing because of this girl, sometimes she surprised him, yet at other times, he was confused with her actions, like now… While she was looking towards the director, Wooyoung couldn’t help trying to be all over her again. Without her awareness, he would glare at Jesse angrily, who only returned the glare with his usual cold aura, not caring about him.

The introduction finally ended and the director said happily:

“Well, as I had already spoken all about the show’s rules. I will put on the display the names of the couples for the “Dancing with Stars” show. The ones that are not in the program will have a solo performance. So, here we go… First pair…”

Soon, each couple was summoned as the director started calling their names. It was only ten couples for the show; right now, the count was on the 9th couple. Reading the names on the display, everyone held their breath when he started;

"9th couple will be… Hwang Tiffany from TTS and …”

Tiffany held her breathe, secretly wishing for Jesse as a partner. She didn’t know that, although the blonde guy didn’t want to admit it, he wished the same thing. The director finally spoke the other name:

“And… Jang Wooyoung from 2PM!”

All the 2PM’s group members praised Wooyoung and high-fived him as he cockily shrugged his shoulders with an overly confident smirk on his face. He even used this chance to turn his head and smile in victory to Jesse. Like as if he was saying “Take that, scumbag! She is mine!”. However, the blonde guy’s face remained impassive, although he felt a sharp tug in his heart. Yet, he snapped back to reality when he heard his name:

“And the 10th and last couple will be… Goo Hara from KARA and… Jung Jesse from SJY!”

This time, Tiffany felt her blood boiling when she saw Hara with her surprised face as she ran to Jesse and hugged him in contentment. The ginger-haired girl didn’t notice that she was already gritting her teeth and feeling the same sharp pang in her heart… the intense jealously was written all over her face. Meanwhile, Jesse smiled and nodded to Hara’s excitement; he was at least more relieved to have a friend, rather than a stranger, as his dancing partner… yes… this is for the best.
