THREE – “An unexpected... feeling?!”

I was panting hard and sweating like crazy after our presentation ended. What felt like an eternity was just a few minutes… We looked towards the front, gulping to see the audience in silence after our ‘number’. When I looked to my companions’ eyes, starting to feel worried with the deadly silence, something unexpected happened… All of sudden, we widened our eyes in surprise when the whole audience started giving us a big round of applause. We blinked a few times as we looked to each other in puzzlement. Whistles, applause and screams coming from fan girls and fan boys filled the air. So we snapped out of it and with a grateful smile, we bowed in appreciation as we waved and finally left the stage…

Oh boy… this was even better that I ever imagined…

On the other side of the great salon…

A dumbfounded blonde guy couldn’t take his eyes from a certain short and blonde girl on the stage. Whenever she sang or made her body waves, his body system goes wild; his eyes never left her figure, not even for a second. After the group known as ‘SJY’ did a great performance, this blonde boy aka Taeyeon whispered dumbly to his agent without removing his eyes from the blonde on the stage:

“Noona, please, arrange a meeting with her-- I mean with THEM *Hehe*”

“Yes! I agree with oppa! Please, unnie.” Seohyun said shyly.

Taeyeon laughed nervously when he almost let his inner thoughts slip from his mouth. Thanks to the maknae of their group, he was saved by the bell since the younger girl was practically mesmerized with the boy with an alligator smile on the stage. However, neither of them was as affected as the red-haired girl who still was staring at the blonde guy on the stage in some kind of trance. Her eyes didn’t even blink as she watched him until the curtain closed, making the group disappear for her sadness.

Making up her mind, she quickly stood and spoke absentmindedly: “Let’s go!”

“YEAH!” The ‘Tae’ and ‘Seo’ of the group beamed happily as they followed the ‘Ti’ to the backstage. Meanwhile, their agent tried to reach them as she spoke in deep amazement:

“Wow… I never saw them so affected by someone… hmm… kids… hahaha”

The beautiful tanned woman shook her head as she followed them further.

“WOW! Can you believe it?! They were screaming our names there!”

Yoong said, still in surprise as a cheerful Sunny jumped on his back and replied in awe:

“Isn’t great?! I still can’t believe that this is happening! It’s like a dream coming true!”

I couldn’t help but chuckle at their excitement, I was really happy for them; still… deep inside of me, I felt like this was just a dream… But, the most important thing now is that we have a career and we will make our dream come true. Just as we were happily remembering our moments, I felt someone patting my back. I looked around and smiled to see our manager’s big smile as he ruffles our hair playfully, saying:

“Ya! I knew it! You guys were great! They love it! I can hear the invitations for shows already! Good job, SJY!”

That moment, I remembered the moment our group’s name was created…

You must be wondering why our group name is SJY. Well, SJY is like, Sunny-Jesse-Yoong. Yeah, lame, I know. Actually I didn’t understand at first since Soo hyung told us that the main paragraph of our contract was to hide our true identity, which includes our true name. His answer was simple; he told us that we should at least keep our first name real since we will have the real feedback of our fans. And honestly, although it didn’t make any sense at first, I saw that he was right. If we wanted to create a bond with the public, things would flow better if they call for our true names, isn’t? Yeah, I must admit that Shikshin isn’t such airhead as I thought he was…  

Back to the present, we laughed along with our hyung as he already was planning another ‘presentation’ for us. When we were about to talk to him, his eyes shone and his mouth watered as he spoke in some kind of trance:

“Whoa… free buffet! Err… I mean, if you excuse me, I have something very important to do now. You guys can have fun for awhile, but behave yourselves!”

“Yes, hyung!” Yet, our answer was useless since our so-called manager was happily running to the buffet table; man, this guy is crazy. However, he wasn’t the only food crazy one here; when I looked to my side, Yoong was walking towards the same direction with his eyes shining in some kind of daze. Before he could leave, Sunny pulled him by his ear as he whimpered sulkily:

“Ya, noona! Soo hyung told us that we could do anything!”

“Yeah, but I know you! Remember that you were having a big stomach ache before our presentation, hmm?!”

God, she looked like his mother, hahaha. I have to be composed, but it was hard. Due her words, he widened his eyes and shushed her, explaining in a whine:

“Noona, keep your voice down! And I don’t have a stomach ache! I was errr… nervous! That’s all, okay?”

“Ah-huh, right… still, you are going to stay here, mister. Don’t you agree, Jesse?”

I raised my hands in defeat as Yoong looked at me hopefully, with Sunny ready to glare at me. I chuckled and ruffled his hair playfully, saying:

“Relax, Yoong. You know that Sunny only wants what’s best for our well-being, right?”

“Yes, hyung…” He said with a nod while pouting. I then whispered into his ear:

“If I were you, I would be aware, who knows if your beloved Seo might just come around?”

“You are right, hyung! How do I look?! Do I look good?” Yoong said as he quickly adjusted himself like a gentleman. This dongseang is only mature when it comes to Seohyun, he is totally hopeless *chuckles*. We ended up laughing at his antics, when, all of sudden, a husky voice caught our attention:

“SJY?” “Ye…s?!?!?!”

Once we looked around, our jaw almost dropped to see… TaeTiSeo right before us with their manager; wow, even their manager is beautiful. The tanned woman smiled and extended her hand to me:

“I am Kwon Yuri, TaeTiSeo’s manager. Who are you?”

“Oh, I am J-Jesse. Nice to meet you, Yuri-shi.”

I bowed in respect, yet I raised my head quickly when I heard her contagious laughter as she spoke warmly:

“Yuri-shi? Please, call me Yuri or just noona. Yuri-shi makes me feel old.”

“Oh okay… noona…” Once again, she blinded me with her warm smile. However, she directed her attention to my comrades and spoke softly:

“So… you two are?”

I waited for their answer as well, but when I heard only the silence, I noted that something was wrong. When I looked beside me, there were my two comrades completely motionless and dumbfounded as they stared at TaeTiSeo. Yoong’s jaw dropped; open in awe as he was staring at Seohyun in a daze. I could even hear him whispering dreamily:

“Omo… she is so… beautiful…”

I was about to snap him back to the reality, but I couldn’t help but smile when I saw Seohyun giggling timidly at his stupefied form. However, Sunny was brave enough to wake up from her trance to introduce herself to her oh-so-dreamy Taengoo. Smiling nervously, she took a step closer and started:

“Hmm, I am Su…”

My jaw almost dropped when the blonde shorty practically jumped before me, bowing like a gentleman and grabbed her hand gently to plant a kiss. I was almost bursting with laughter when I saw her ‘tomato’ face when he spoke promptly:

“I am Kim Taeyeon… and please, would you tell me your name, my beautiful lady?”

Hahaha haha, this guy certainly doesn’t waste time! Man, I should have brought my camera with me, this is priceless hahaha! I can tell that Sunny is making a big effort not to faint. She smiled widely at him which he returned happily as she finally said:

“Hmm, I am S-Sunny. Nice t-to meet you, Taeyeon-ssi.”

“Please, just call me Tae… grrr…”

Come on, seriously?! This guy even purred! Look at this creepy and byun smile plastered on his face! I can even see the twinkling eyes as they stared at each other; much more when their hands were still intertwined even when the introduction has finished. I was about to call them, but Yoong beat me to it when the shy maknae spoke delicately:

“I am Seo Joo Hyun, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“Oh, yes! The pleasure is all mine, JuHyun! Can I address you like this?! Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself! I’m Yoong, at your service!”

He shook her hand frenetically with a big awestruck smile printed on his face. The scene was hilarious, yet I could tell that Seohyun was such a sweet girl as she put her free hand in front of her lips and giggled cutely. I can’t believe that this clumsy alligator is making the most serious girl in the whole world, smile; unbelievable. After our epic introduction ended, I shook their hands as well, and they are pretty nice. However, I noted that someone was missing and yes… the one I should forget about. Still, I couldn’t help but feel worried. It seems that their manager noted her absence as well and spoke in surprise/frustration:

“Tae, JuHyun… where is Tiffany? I thought she was right behind you.”

They shrugged their shoulders in surprise as Yuri noona massaged her temples, sighing:

“Aish, this girl… anyway, I still didn’t meet your manager. Where is him or her?”

Yes, she was right. That shikshin must be lost in the buffet for sure. With all eyes on me, I nodded my head in understanding.

“All right, I’ll look for him. I’ll be right back.”

“Oh, Jesse. Could you look for Tiffany too? If you see her, please tell her that we are waiting for her.”

“Okay…” Great… now I have to look for her too? Splendid! Aish, I am not her babysitter.

With that, I dragged myself to the backstage, sulking. You must be kidding me…

Somewhere in the backstage…

“Oh come on, hon, don’t be like this. I don’t know why you are so sulky. It was just a new band, what’s wrong with that?”

Tiffany whined as she pulled her ‘date’ arm playfully. The boy rolled his eyes and added bitterly while narrowing his eyes at her:

“Well, it’s kind of wrong when you ignore me since your eyes were practically glued to that blonde! You didn’t even listen to what I had said aish…”

“Awwww, my babe is jealous… don’t be. You know that my eyes are only for you, oppa.”

Tiffany whispered teasingly in his ear, making Wooyoung shiver to her touch. If they weren’t in public, he would ravage her mercilessly right now. This thought did not pass undetected to the ginger haired singer; she would always use her extreme y appeal to charm and calm her possessive ‘fling’. However, she wanted to leave already since she was losing her opportunity to know that mysterious and charming blonde. She would be with him now and her comrades if the possessive Wooyoung didn’t come behind her, demanding an explanation for her lack of attention on him and so forth.

After she had calmed the “storm”, she pinched his cheeks, speaking softly:

“I guess it’s your number now, oppa. Don’t worry, we are going to see each other later, okay?”

“Aww, can’t I have some of you now? You know I am kinda needy…”

Tiffany jolted in surprise when, all of a sudden, Wooyoung grabbed her by her waist and kissed her neck hungrily. Before everything goes out of control, she could barely stand back, flushed when she saw his lust-filled eyes. Using her charm, she shook her index finger and added in her husky tone:

“Calm down, tiger. I am not that easy. Now, go. They are waiting for you. I will call you later. I promise, hon! Now…Bye bye!”

He ruffed loudly in disappointment as she only pecked his cheek. With a lot of effort, he finally left. Once he was out of sight, Tiffany sighed in relief and rolled her eyes, speaking out loud:

“Pheww… I thought he wouldn’t go away… Now, mysterious blonde… here I come!”

…

“Err… excuse me, Tiffany-shi.” Aish, what now?! Tiffany started to feel angry as she snapped her head around to see who the culprit was. The latter with was just a shy boy who was fidgeting his fingers while holding her album’s cover and a pen. It took a while as he spoke carefully:

“Hmm, I-I am Lee Minho and-and I am your fan, Tiffany-shi… c-could give me your autograph?” The ginger haired girl rolled her eyes at his dullness as he dared to speak a little more with his shy tone:

“Sorry to ask you that, bu-but I always had a dream to know you someday and sing with you, noona…”

“Stop, stop, stop! What did you say?! Do you want to sing … with ME?!”

Tiffany felt offended with his request as she raised her voice, annoyed. She shook her head in disdain and laughed in scorn at the shy and embarrassed boy before her:

“Look, I will tell you this once and you better keep it in your small brain.”

The boy gulped with eyes widened due to her reaction. With a cocky attitude, she snapped out against him while eyeing him from his head to the toes in disapproval:

“Do you really think that I, a diva, will sing with you, a talentless newbie? Kid, they don’t call me the ‘K-Pop princess’ for nothing. If I am here today, it isn’t because I sang with low class singers like you. So, you better wake up and forget your dreams. Now, get out of my way, I have more important things to do…”

Oh man, where is Soo hyung? He can be very hopeless when it comes food, I can’t find him anywhere! I am looking for him for so minutes and nothing! Aish, it looks like I’ll have to go back; sure, I am not in a mood to look for the ‘girl’… However, when I was making my way back to my comrades, I heard a familiar voice. Once I turned around, I realized that only a few meters away, there she was, the K-Pop princess… Tiffany Hwang. And she looks even more stunning up close.

I was about to be distracted if it wasn’t for her loud voice, and it was when I realized what she was doing, my blood started to boil. I couldn’t believe that she was belittling the poor boy; the guy only asked for her autograph for God’s sake. I saw the entire scene and I didn’t like it, because… it could be me there. My teeth gritted when she spoke the last sentence:

“So, you better wake up and forget your dreams. Now, get out of my way, I have more important things to do…”

Ha! Who the hell does she think she is?! Argh, now she will listen to me!

After the poor boy was left there with his hope completely destroyed, something inside of me pushed me go forward as I marched up to confront her. Without letting her escape, I grabbed her wrist, making her turn around in one move, as I snapped with restrained tone:

“Listen here, miss!”

Her annoyed face quickly turned into a shocked one as she stared at me. Her big and round eyes almost tricked me, but the anger that I was feeling was stronger. I held her wrist tightly, yet carefully as I made sure to speak every single word clearly:

“Who do you think you are, huh?! Do you think that only because you are South Korea’s sweetheart that you can do whatever you want?!”

“But-“She tried to speak weakly, but I did not let her. Now, she’s gonna listen to me:

“Unbelievable! I thought you were different, but no, you proved that you are like all the other spoiled celebrities! This boy was only asking for your advice and autograph for God’s sake! So what you do?! You stepped on him like as if he was nothing! You don’t have the right of destroy the dreams of others!”

“But I –“

“Listen, if I was you, I would change my attitude or else, you will wake up completely alone! No one would want someone with an ugly personality like yours!”

After my outburst, I noticed that a sudden silence enveloped us. Once I turned around, I saw my and her comrades completely agape and dumbfounded. Yuri glared at me as I removed my grasp on Tiffany’s wrist; if I wasn’t being delirious, I could swear that her eyes were b with tears. All of sudden, I heard someone barging madly at me:

“JESSE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”

“What, hyung?”

Although I tried to look cool on the outside, I gulped internally when our manager glared at me. When he was about to scold me, another voice broke our attention:

“Tsk, Choi SooYoung, I should know…”

My comrades and I, well we looked at Yuri noona in surprise as she glared at Soo hyung and scorned. Yet, he only rolled his eyes and replied loudly, very annoyed:

“Tsk, come on. You don’ scare me anymore. What are you going to do, Kwon? Blackmail me?”

Yuri noona stood before him as they held an intense glare; man, what tension filled the air. All of sudden, she flipped her hair at his face cockily and turned around to leave. He quickly adjusted himself to glare at her as she returned with the same glare:

“Nothing… for now… but if I were you, I would be VERY careful with your career. Don’t mess with me and TTS, Choi. Let’s go, kids.”

After her deadly sentence, Taeyeon and Seohyun wrapped their arms around a tearing Tiffany as they left. But before going, the byun blonde and the shy brunette looked longingly towards their love interests as the latter stared back at them, nodding apologetically. Meanwhile, I stared at Tiffany emotionlessly and coldly as she left, a small part of me was already regretting making her sad, but to be honest, the girl needed some reprimanding for her rude attitude.

[NORMAL POV]

On other hand, Sooyoung stared at the tanned manager with a frown and couldn’t help but remark into his mind as he saw the beautiful woman leaving while she swayed her hips:

“She is lucky that she … looks more beautiful than ever…”

Once he realized what he just thought, he shook his head and became normal again. Glaring at Jesse, he slapped the back of his head hard as the blonde whined loudly:

“Ouch, hyung! Why are you doing this?!”

“Hah! Do you still need ask?! You are lucky that you are still in one piece! Come on, Jesse! Are you out of your mind!? Why did you think of talking to Tiffany-shi like that, huh?!”

“Yes, hyung. You were kinda rude to Tiffany noona…”

Yoong said seriously as Sunny nodded in agreement. Frustrated, Jesse replied:

“What? I did nothing wrong, ok?! She just a big spoiled girl who needed a lesson!”

“Yeah and do you know what this lesson will cost me?! Aish, I get shivers only just thinking about Kwon… do you know that they can put an end to your career even before you start it?!”

Jesse became silent after thinking about what he done. In a serious tone, Sooyoung added:

“You better prepare a good apology speech because I won’t go begging to them for your mistake! You should think before you act, Jung! Arghh, come on, you guys are dispensed for today. I will contact you soon. And you better be ready… Jesse.”

Nibbling his lip, Jesse restrained himself as he let his comrades lead him to the exit. It was a long day for sure. Everything was going fine and then, boom! On the way back to his home, he nodded and received his friends’ advice. Maybe they were right, he should control his temper, but at least, he did not lie. The truth sometimes hurts, even more when it comes to someone’s ego. Placing his head on the pillow, he couldn’t help to think if Tiffany really considered his words. Hmm, maybe she is thinking that he is crazy or stupid for his audacity. Turning around in his bed, he sighed loudly:

“I should stop thinking about her…”

In TaeTiSeo’s expensive and glamorous dorm…

After they made their way back to their ‘home’, Tiffany didn’t say a word. Actually, she was still shocked and embarrassed by the blonde’s outburst. She could remember clearly his name once their manager scolded him:

“Jesse…” It fits him, she thought. Inside her pink room, she was with her maknae. Of course, her comrades tried to comfort her, yet she wanted to be by herself. Being worried with her unnie, Seohyun refused to leave and ended up sleeping on her bed. Tiffany looked to her side and smiled softly at the sight, the maknae was like her younger sister, but more mature than herself. The ginger-haired singer sighed, deep in her thoughts; however, she snapped back to reality when a familiar blonde entered her room and was seated before her, on her bed.

Taeyeon always knew her too well and that’s why he decided to see how his friend was doing. The pair didn’t exchange a word, yet after a moment in silence, she asked hesitantly:

“Tae?” “Hmm?” He hummed softly as he rubbed her shoulder in comfort, letting her speak. After a brief silence, she asked carefully, almost like a little and naïve girl:

“Do… do you think that… he is right?” “You mean, Jesse?” “Yeah…”

Tiffany nodded weakly and waited for his answer anxiously. Breathing heavily, the short blonde stopped his touches and looked into Tiffany’s eyes. He then held her hand gently and started:

“Ppani... can I be honest?” “S-Sure.” She whispered since neither one of them wanted to wake their maknae. Taeyeon then sighed deeply again and thumbed her hand:

“You know that I would punch someone’s face if they make you cry; you and SeoHyun are like my family… but…” “But?” She noted his hesitance, yet he continued:

“But I’ll have to agree with him… Of course, he shouldn’t be that harsh towards you… yet, I saw the way you treated that poor kid, Ppani…”

“But, Tae, I –“ He stopped her gently as he spoke sincerely, not breaking their stare:

“Since I care a lot about you and Hyunnie, this means that I should tell you when something is wrong. Ppani, I know you for 6 years and you’ve changed. You know I love you, but you need to accept when you are wrong and undo your mistakes, okay?”

“I know, Tae… I – I am sorry…” The ginger-haired girl sniffed, feeling her eyes tearing as her blonde friend pulled her in for a comforting hug. They stayed like this for a while, when, all of sudden, she spoke softly:

“Now I am worried… unnie was really mad at Jesse… I wonder what she will do.”

“As far as I know, she will skin him alive for sure… but, wait a minute! The guy scolded you and you are worried about him?! Am I hearing this right?! Tiffany Hwang is worried about … a ‘newbie’?!”

A surprised Tae pulled away from the hug and narrowed his eyes in suspicion when he saw a shy smile on Tiffany’s face. He raised a brow and asked doubtfully:

“Ppani… are you all right? Your face seems kinda… flushed?”

Tiffany couldn’t hide her emotions when the flashback replayed in her mind multiple times. The way Jesse held her arm was so strong, yet careful; the way his eyes were so fierce, yet so warm while staring back at her. Only to remember this, her forgotten heart started to flutter incessantly as her face got warm. On top of everything, no one besides her friends were so sincere with her, since everyone was too busy spoiling her and her big ego, when all she wanted was someone to really care about her.

It was then when something finally clicked; at the realization, her heart pounded fast and thousands of butterflies flew in her stomach. Yes, she was sure. Eye-smiling to her puzzled friend, she held his hands tightly and added with a glowing smirk:

“Tae!?” “Yeah…?”

“He was the first one to speak the truth to me, I – I know he cares about me or else he wouldn’t do that…”

Taking  a deep breath, she confessed with a growing and shy smile in her face:

 Tae… I think I am falling… for Jesse… from SJY…”

The blonde widened his eyes and his jaw dropped somewhere on the floor. He dumbly repeated the question and, getting more than happy; Tiffany nodded in excitement and started to clap her hands like a “crazy school girl”. With his mouth still hanging open, he watched his crazy friend daydreaming about Jesse as he spoke in amazement:

“You must be kidding me…this girl is crazy…”
