There's a bracelet on my wrist

You might just think of it as a regular accessory

But there's more meaning to it than it shows

I wish that he had another occupation

But I can't complain, for this is the path he chose

I miss him so much it really hurts

But a surprise visit home had me overjoyed

It took him a while to come back here

All the way from where he was deployed

Sometimes I tend to overthink

And terrible scenarios happen

One joyful day will have a sick twist

I'll be in so much denial

I'll take a long look upon my wrist

As tears start to fall, I'll wish for him to come back home

Just not like this
