Foreword

A few weeks before:

Yay! Today is the best holiday in the whole year!! It's Easter!!

Today our whole family visits us in our villa. We'll eat, talk and dance together. I really enjoy it since we see each other just once a year. And every time it is something special :)

 

As all guests were seated in their places, the dinner started. Servants brought the dine. There were friends relatives and even few businessman which I didn't know.

They were laughing and chatting happily at the dinner table. It was a great atmosphere.

 

I heard my grandparents talk about their past. I fixed my attention on my grandmother. They lived in Korea, before they came to Germany to make up their own fashion industry. And they were successful with it. ;)

She told our guest's about their life back then.

“It was a wonderful time. There was so much to discover. The different culture, the nature, everything was great. The people were nice and respectful. Sometimes I miss this country very much. I'd do anything to go back there..” My grandmother sighed.

 

I know this story very well. How they lived in a small apartment barely able to pay it. Their hard trip to Europe and finally their chance to make up their company. Still I never thought about one certain thing clearly.

“So, why did you leave this country although you loved it this much?” I wondered.

The moment I asked this question everything went quiet.

All eyes were first fixed on me with a surprised expression. I didn't mind and just concentrated on the surprised face of my grandmother. Then the gazes shifted to my grandparents with asking expressions.

She hesitated “Well.. there were some.. complications.. ”

“Oh.. I see” I wonder what she meant, but I didn't ask any more. She didn't seem to want to talk about it. Not in front of everyone. So I just continued to eat.

 

After dinner I went into our garden. It was already dark. I lied down on the ground and faced the sky. Above me the cloudless dark night sky, filled with twinkling stars. The sight was amazing.

 

I sighed. It sounded good. They way she talked about this country. It really has to be something special. I would love to see what she has seen in her past. To meet these people and the other lifestyle. I would be a nice experience..

In the next moment I saw a shooting star. The star crossing the sky and leaving a long shining tail, disappearing into the darkness. I closed my eyes and made a wish.

Let me experience the things my grandparents have in their life in Korea.
Jeez.. I'm still such a kid. Thinking about a wish when you see a shooting star..
I shook my head and went back into our villa.

 

Few days later:

Having busy family isn't nice at all. It's really boring to be alone in a villa.

The most of the time I spent thinking about Korea. How it would be to live there. Even for a short time.

I imagined living there.

I would rent a small, yet nice apartment somewhere in a city with a good view over the happenings on the streets. Every day I would discover something new. A new shop, a restaurant, a park, a new bar.. I would meet new people and make friends, maybe even fall in love? I'm tired of living here. Booooring.. There is no adventure, nothing exciting in this way of living.. Everything I do is spent my time with my friends chatting and shopping. It's always the same.

 

The worst is.

Next month summer vacation are starting. Normally everyone would think 'Yay summer vacation!! Can't wait... blah blah blah..'

BUT!!!!!!!!
I can't even meet with my friends. They spent their whole holiday either in the Caribbean or on Mallory. And my family is anyway busy. So...

I'LL BE THE WHOLE VACATION ALONE!!!!!!... Damn it..

And then.. yeah and then??

 

I went into our garden. I lied on the grass and closed my eyes. Everything was quiet except for the birds singing and flying between the trees.

.

That's it!!

 

I'll fly to Korea!!

 

Yes. THIS will be interesting. Definitely!

I need to prepare the trip..
