The sound of tires squealing, metal crunching, and the feeling of her head cracking against the window were the last things Min-Ai remembered before everything went black. Even now, as she sat on the hospital bed, or what she assumed was the hospital; the smell was unmistakable, everything was dark.

"If you should need anything miss Roo, don't hesitate to shout," a man claimed, removing the sphygmomanometer from her arm.

Min-Ai nodded and leaned back against the headboard of the bed with a sigh. She reached up to her face and felt the bandages around her forehead and a couple gauze pads tapped to her cheeks.

It had started out like a usual day. She woke up late; her brother having unplugged her alarm clock once again, dashed around the house to get ready, ran to the bus stop, got on and took her usual seat on the left side near the back. She didn't even fully understand what had happened, only that another vehicle collided with the bus and sent many if not all of the passengers to the hospital.

"You're very lucky to be alive."

That's what the doctor had told her, but she didn't feel lucky. Her eyes were wide open and all she could see was a greyscale sheet.

"WHERE IS SHE!!!!"

Min-Ai's eyebrow raised at the voice, instantly recognising it.

The door slammed open, making the girl flinch.

"MIN-AI!!!" Key wailed, dashing over to her bed. "I heard about the accident! Are you alright?!?" he asked, grasping her hand in his.

"I'm fine Buumie, nothing for you to worry about," she reassured with a laugh.

There was a couple seconds of silence, Min-Ai feeling Key's grip tighten on her hand.

"Min-Ai… why won't you look at me…?"

The girl tried to think of an excuse; telling Key the truth meant that she too would have to accept it, which she desperately didn't want.

"Because your immense good looks might blind me?" she tried with a wry laugh.

Min-Ai heard more footsteps, more than likely being the other members off SHINee.

"Min-Ai!" Jonghyun cried, dashing over to stand beside. "Have the doctors said anything?"

"To be completely honest, I have no clue; I was kind of zoning out while he was talking," she replied with a small smile.

"Well, Onew went to get him, so we can all have a refresher," Minho claimed, walking further into the room.

"H-He what??"

"I found him," Onew claimed, walking into the room, the doctor right behind him.

"Is there something wrong with her?" Key asked.

"Yah, pabo!" Min-Ai barked, swinging her hand in his general direction but hitting nothing.

"The collision resulted in miss Roo's head colliding with the window of the bus, and the force as well as the angel she hit her head… rattled her brain you could say," The doctor began, flipping through some sheets on his clipboard.

"What does that mean?" Taemin asked, wary of what the answer could be.

"The ocular nerve that connects her eyes to her brain was severed… and… due to the trauma the crash has already caused… we cannot repair it…" the older man replied, shifting his eyes over to the silent girl on the bed. "Miss Roo is blind."

Five sets of eyes swung towards the girl, Min-Ai clenching the sheets in her fists while trying not to cry.

"Min…Ai…" Key whimpered, reaching out to place a comforting hand on her shoulder.

As soon as his fingertips touched her, she flinched away.

"Is there anything we can do for her?" Minho asked.

"She will need a caretaker until she is at least accustomed to her own house. I would also advise that should she need to leave her house, that she has an escourt," the doctor replied.

"We can't take her home!" Key roared. "Her brother's an irresponsible twit and her parents are away in America!"

"Well then what do you suggest we do Key? Put her in a box?" Onew sighed, not seeing many options.

Key turned to the girl and watched as Jonghyun and Taemin sat on the bed with her, patting her knee and back in an attempt to comfort her. His eyes widened in realization and clapped his hands together while turning to their leader.

"She'll live with us!"
