Chapter Five

It began like any typical Monday morning for Park Chanyeol, his Jiyeon Noona kicking him out of bed, Jungsoo Hyung telling him to be more responsible, Senah smirking as he gets lectured,  Sunyoung the only one supporting him, Jungsoo Hyung being lenient because of Sunyoung, Senah getting worked up because he got away with it, and Jiyeon rolling her eyes at everyone’s actions.

The doorbell rang and Sunyoung bounded over to open it giving a smile to Heechul, Joonmyeon, and Soomin who entered. Chanyeol assumed that Hyoyeon had already headed off to Ha Lee Yoo for her morning classes. With Soomin’s arrival Senah and Jiyeon set off with her to Ji Park early since Jiyeon was in the student council and Senah and Soomin had volunteered to help with homecoming decorations and they had a meeting planned on what each class'es themes were going to be.

Sunyoung pecked Chanyeol’s and Suho’s cheek before going with Jungsoo and Heechul who were going to drop her off at JTL Middle School before they had brunch with the rest of their group members. Chanyeol vaguely heard Jungsoo telling him to make sure to lock the door before heading out.

Suho rolled his eyes, “Why is it that every Monday you guys are like this? Every other day of the week you're the first one up, and I mean-”

“Mwolla,” Chanyeol said cutting his cousin off, “Where are we gonna go today?”

“Kyungsoo demands that we go to Woo’s,” Suho said.

Chanyeol laughed as he grabbed his bag and headed out with Suho. They made small talk on the walk over.  Arriving both ordered hazelnut lattes and upon reception sat down with their friends who were already there, and completely fanboying over the fact that SNSD had released a new CD.

Suho made a face, “You do realize that my Noona is in that group?”

“Psh- Okay so she is off-limits, there are still seven other y ladies-”

“JONGIN! THAT’S NO WAY TO TALK ABOUT YOUR SUNBAES! Your own sister is in the group too!” Kyungsoo nagged.

                “That’s why I said seven!”

“Admit it Soo, they are totally fine!” Baekhyun said, “I wanna get the new CD but I wanna see what’s in it first. Yah, Soo come with Jongin and me to Melody’s after practice and we’ll check it out!”

                “That’s fine you-”

“That’s a great idea! Hyun you’re a genius!” Jongin said

                “But I don’t need to-”

“I know I can’t help but be that amazing, it’s like I shine upon the world!”

                “Guys! I don’t want to-”

“Shining is so much better than sparkling!”

“Yeol you should come too! Didn’t you want to get the new 2PM CD?”

“Yeah, I think I’ll join too,” Chanyeol replied.

                “See Chanyeol can go-”

“Great the more the merrier! While you get your CDs Baekhyun and I can educate Kyungsoo on how awesome the SNSD eight-” Jongin received a glare from Suho “-I mean SNSD seven are.”

“GUYS! I already know how great the sunbaes are!” Kyungsoo complained.

Baekhyun and Kai got together shaking their heads as if Kyungsoo was a poor guy who missed out on his childhood.

“Don’t bother Soo, you know how ridiculous those two are,” Chanyeol said.

Suho gave a small chuckle, “So what did you guys think of the MU and Chelsea match,” he said trying to get the subject away from his sister and her groupmates.

“Dude! That match was intense!” Chanyeol bellowed out helping his cousin out- it weirded him out too when they talked like that about his Hyoyeon Noona.

“I’ve never been on the edge of my seat so much in my life!” Baekhyun said.

“Same here!” Kyungsoo agreed, “Well except for when I was watching City Hunter,” he added.

The others rolled their eyes at Kyungsoo’s antics, “What? It was a good drama!”

Jongin just shook his head again, “Ferdinand did great! Rooney nearly messed it up though!”

“I know! He got lucky that Captain Park backed him there! THAT WAS A HUGE BLUNDER!” Chanyeol exploded.

“You can’t blame him though! He had two guys on him!” Suho defended.

                “Yeah but-”

Chanyeol didn’t hear the rest of what came out of Baekhyun’s mouth because that’s when she walked in. There was something familiar about her, he felt like he met her before. He probably ran into her here or somewhere else where the kids from all three high schools hung out but he couldn’t shake off the feeling that it wasn’t just that.

He tried to figure her out, but he couldn’t read her. He was good at understanding people much to other’s surprise. He might be a little childish, but he was always aware of how his friends were feeling and his surroundings. He watched her place an order. He didn’t understand what was drawing him to her? She was pretty but there was more to it.

As she waited her eyes wandered through the café, taking in her surroundings. He realized that if he didn’t look away he would get caught. He pretended to listen to the conversation again. He felt her gaze come and rest upon him, he looked up, pretending to only notice her now.  He gave her a wink, she scoffed and turned away. He was in shock. That. Never. Happened.

He continued to watch her and saw that she and some other guy had a problem with an order, the guy let her have the drink and she gave him a quick bow before leaving. He was fascinated, this girl was something else. He hoped he would run into her again. He looked at the guy again, wait a second- wasn’t that Kris’s cousin?

“Yah! Yah! Yeol are you paying attention?” Baekhyun asked snapping him out of his thoughts.

“What Hyun?” he asked.

“Dude you’ve been so out of it lately.”

“I’m just thinking Soo,” he replied.

“Thinking doesn’t suit you.”

“YAH! Shikuro! I’m older than you Jong, show some respect!”

His friends laughed and he joined in. They continued to talk more about the match. His mind wandered again to the girl.

Yup, he was fascinated by her. Did he like her? No, he didn’t believe in love at first sight. But he was interest in her, the mysterious, unreadable, strange girl.

Yes, he, Park Chanyeol was genuinely fascinated by a girl for the first time.

Soon they all left the café and headed off to school, homeroom was cancelled that day because the teachers had some meeting so classes started later. When class finally started, Chanyeol couldn’t help but feel extremely annoyed and bored. His mind danced around lyrics for a new rap that he was working on with Kris- it was hard since the jerk was all the way in Canada at the moment but they worked on through email and skype. The girl he saw also was wandering around in his thoughts- he couldn’t remember the uniform of her school but it looked like Seo Lake’s but since he couldn’t remember for sure he wasn’t going to worry about. That and he also didn’t care where she went.

When the day finally ended, he and his friends had decided to meet up for practice in two and a half hours. Jongdae, Kyungsoo, and Sehun were going to go work on a project for science, Suho and Yixing were going to guitar lessons, Jongin had planned to meet up with Taemin and Kibum Hyung for some dance thing, he and Baekhyun ended up going back to Woo’s to finish their homework while having coffee.

When they finished, Chanyeol suggested that they just wander the streets for a bit. He knew that Baekhyun had gotten in a fight with his girlfriend Son Naeun so he could use the walk to clear his head. They wandered in the direction of the park.  Baekhyun let out sigh.

“Doing any better dude?” Chanyeol asked.

Baekhyun chuckled, “Thanks Yeol, I needed that.”

“That’s why I’m here,” Chanyeol replied with a grin.

"This mess is so tiring," Baekhyun sighed.

"Just take it easy, she's not worth being with if she is so clingy," Chanyeol replied.

"I know, but we've been together for three years now-"

"I hardly think your first year together counts," Chanyeol said.

"Aish! Shikuro!"

Chanyeol laughed and soon Baekhyun joined him.

“We better catch a bus if we want to get to practice on time though,” Baekhyun said.

“Let’s goooo!” Chanyeol yelled like a kid that he still at heart was.

The bus near the park was three stops away from their studio.

“I don’t see the point in these practices much,” Baekhyun complained as they waited for the bus.

“I get where you’re coming from its hard to do stuff when the entire group isn’t here,” Chanyeol agreed.

Baekhyun’s phone buzzed, his eyebrows furrowed together with irritation as he read the text. Chanyeol knew that it was Naeun related. The bus arrived soon. Chanyeol couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the girl from the café there…wait the girl from café was sitting next to Hoya Hyung. Chanyeol couldn’t help but get angry, was Hoya Hyung seriously going to target the entire female population of Eidol district? As he and Baekhyun got on and headed to the back to stand (bless their souls, they gave the open seats to the elderly pair behind them)they gave a quick nod to Sungjong and Takuya and finally Hoya Hyung.

Normally they would talk, but Baekhyun was in a sour mood that was getting worse with the oncoming messages and Chanyeol didn’t like that Hoya Hyung was sitting next to her. He didn’t want to seem like he was staring at her, Hoya Hyung would rat him out to Yunho hyung who would tell Jungsoo hyung. He didn’t need that.

He pretended to look out the window for a while, he could tell that she was observing him, probably trying to figure out which school he went to and if he knew Hoya Hyung or not. Baekhyun got  text from Sehun informing that Kyungsoo was trying to murder Jongdae for spilling coffee on Kyungsoo’s bag. He chuckled. He then pretended to look over the rest of the passengers finally allowing his eyes to settle down and lock gazes with her. He gave her a small smile and she returned a half smile, half-smirk. Chanyeol noticed that Hoya Hyung’s eyes were filled with surprise.

She probably knew of Hoya’s reputation then. The bus jerked a little and Baekhyun lost his balance, Chanyeol helped the blushing boy up.

“That’s why you shouldn’t text all the time!” He said, amusement evident in his deep voice.

                “Aish- Shikuro!” Baekhyun muttered back.

Chanyeol chuckled again as Hoya tried to whole back smirk. The girl’s mouth curved up into a slight smile, their eyes met again and he gave her another wink. Her reaction was different this time, she snapped her head away and looked out the window as small but still visible blush graced her face.  The bus came to a stop and Hoya and Sungjong got off, Baekhyun went to go sit with Takuya and Chanyeol sat down next to the girl.

He quickly learned that this girl wasn’t that easy, he still had trouble reading her. But she was an interesting person, different from all the rest taht he has met but there was a sense of familiar warmth that he felt in her. The bus stopped again and she got up this time.

“Oh I guess it’s your stop, I’ll see you around Quinnge!” he said to her as a genuine smile escaped from her.

                She gave a laugh, “Whatever.”

Their stop arrived, they said goodbye to Takuya, got off and headed to their studio. Suho arrived right behind them.

“Guys, we’re cutting practice short tonight and we’re just going to focus on what we need to work on individually!” Suho said.

                “WHAT? WHY?” Jongdae asked.

“SHINee hyungs need to use it since they have a competition coming up,” he replied.

Chanyeol shrugged, “Yah Sehun-ah let’s work on our rap,” Chanyeol yelled calling the maknae over.

They all practiced until the SHINee hyungs came, they bowed exchanged greetings, grabbed their stuff and left.  Baekhyun and Jongin dragging Kyungsoo to the music store. When they were near, Kyungsoo out of desperation just sat down on the ledge of some shop’s window.

While Baekhyun and Jongin coaxed Kyungsoo, Chanyeol caught sight of Quingge again. She was talking to some guy in front of the music store; she gave him a tight hug before walking in. Kyungsoo at this point had resigned to his fate and trudged in with them.

Immediately Baekhyun and Jongin took Kyungsoo to the SNSD display. Chanyeol searched for Quingge and 2PM CDs. He heard her voice. She was talking to someone on the phone, a close friend it seemed. He didn’t feel an ounce of guilt as he eavesdropped. He sighed in relief when he figured that the guy she hugged was just an old friend who had just come back from Japan.

He decided he would engage her in a conversation again, this time more normal since they could talk about something that they had a common interest for, music. He figured that she probably didn’t remember that him from the Woo’s in the morning so he only told her that they ran into each other twice. While talking to her he realized that she was indeed from Seo Lake, but he didn’t care. Kyungsoo hollered at him to come check something out. ‘Don’t tell me that Kyungsoo has converted and is fanboying too!’ he thought.

He and Quinnge paid for their CDs, as she left she called him Taotive, Tall Tower who is very Talkative.

He grinned, “You’re smiling like an idiot,” damn Kyungsoo.

Chanyeol went home and crashed in bed after eating a quick dinner and taking a long shower. He was tired like he was every Monday. He fell asleep quickly. When he woke up in the morning he sent a text to Suho demanding that they go to Woo’s in the morning again.

Everyone but Kyungsoo and Kai showed up. Jongdae, Sehun, Baekhyun and Yixing chattered away about the new Assassin’s Creed game excitedly when Chanyeol and Suho showed up. Every time the door opened Chanyeol’s eyes darted in the direction. He saw Kris’s cousin enter. They all gave exchanged quick nods with each other. He ordered- wait two drinks? He was probably meeting up with someone, most likely Myungsoo or Sungjong.

The door opened again and smile graced Chanyeol’s face, it quickly got wiped off as she exchanged greetings with Sungyeol. He handed her the drink and the two exited the café walking away together.

~>o~0~o~0~o<~

“Aish this kid, you, GAH! I’m not even bothering. Guys this is my friend Lee Sungyeol,” he said as Sungyeol bowed, “We’re in the same group.”

“Annyeonghaseyo. Please take good care of me- the dino doesn’t stop the old nagger of a leader from abusing me,” he said with a grin.

Dongwoo smacked Sungyeol upside the head, “See he even partakes in the abusing,” he said pouting.

“We’ve met before haven’t we?” Junhyung asked.

“It’s possible, after all I think Dongwoo’s group, your group, and our group was in a competition together last time,” Minwoo said.

“Yes, I believe that’s true but it was more like ‘Annyeong we’re Dongwoo’s groupmates.’ But I know who you all are, Sunbae,” Sungyeol said.

“Ah! Weren’t you, that Myungsoo kid, and Sungjong girl-”

“That girl is a boy,” Dongwoo said interrupting Heecheol, Jiyoon and Taeheon snickered to the side.

                “Really?”

“If he finds out you called him a girl he’ll make you one,” Sungyeol said bluntly.

Heecheol shuddered, “So wasn’t you three that pulled a prank by releasing crickets into the main office?”

“No that was just Sungjong and Myungsoo, if it was me it would be something much grander,” Sungyeol replied.

Heecheol smirked, “I like you kid.” Sungyeol just flashed a grin.

“So how do you sorta but not really know our Jiyoon?” Taeheon asked.

“Oppa! I already have to deal with three over-bearing ones I don’t need you to join them!” She said.

“Ah, so your name is Jiyoon. Nice to meet you,” Sungyeol said taking the seat next to her.

“Nice to meet you too,” Jiyoon said replied with a smile.

“We sorta but not really met this morning at Woo’s, we both ordered the same drink and they made a mistake,” Sungyeol answered Taeheon’s question.

                Taeheon eyed them curiously.

“They only gave one drink instead of two, he let me have the one that came first and while they went to go make the other one,” Jiyoon clarified.

“Oh so that’s why you were late?” Dongwoo asked.

Jiyoon’s eyes widened, “You were late? You said you didn’t have classes in the morning. Mianhaeyo!”

Sungyeol grinned, “I didn’t have classes, I was late to meet up with the rest of our members for a meeting Sunggyu hyung wanted to have.”

“That was still nice of you,” Hara said, “Guys at Tae River are so sweet. Well minus those three,” Hara said pointing out Taeheon, Heecheol, and Minwoo.

Jiyoon nodded her head in agreement, Junhyung was pouting.

                “But babyyyyy…” he whined.

Jiyoon’s fingers curled, Junhyung and aegyo just … there were no words.

“Omona! Baby of course you’re still the best!” Hara said pecking his lips.

“LET’S ORDER!” Minwoo said getting the couple to stop.

“YANG AHJUSSHI! WE’RE READY TO ORDER!” Heecheol hollered.

Uncle Yang sent a waiter over.

“Jjangmyeong! Rice and yellow squash and water please!” Heecheol ordered.

“I’ll have the same but kimchi instead of the squash please,” Minwoo said.

“Can I just get steamed rice, and Mongolian stir fried beef and broccoli with water please,” Hara ordered.

“I will take the spicy chicken wings, rice and kimchi and can I get cola please,” Junhyung said.

“I think I’ll get the same, but chicken tenders instead please,” Dongwoo said.

“You all do realize that this place serves international food, right? I’ll have the spicy lemon grass Thai soup, and chicken curry and cola please,” Sungyeol ordered.

“I’ll have the spicy lemon grass Thai soup too, and beef kebab with one order of naan and water with lemon please,” Jiyoon ordered.

“Can I get the hot and sour soup, shrimp chow mien, and lemonade please?” Taeheon finished.

The waiter wrote the last ordered and headed away, “Kahmasamida!” they all said.

“So Jiyoonie! Who did you see?”  Hara asked.

“I thought we already established it was Song Joong Ki?” Heecheol said.

                “Wait what?” Dongwoo said.

“Jiyoon ran into someone,” Minwoo explained.

“You ran into Song Joong Ki?” Dongwoo asked confused, “Then why are you here?”

Jiyoon blushed, “ANI! That’s something that Heecheol-sshi made up!”

“Are you mad at Heecheol again?” Dongwoo asked.

                “Yes! Extremely!” Jiyoon replied.

“Jiji-yah forgive Oppa! Please!” Heecheol said trying to unleash aegyo on Jiyoon.

Jiyoon blanked, “Heecheol-sshi your aegyo doesn’t work.”

“I’ll buy you coffee and desserts for the rest of the week!” Heecheol said.

“OPPA! I FORGIVE YOU!” Jiyoon said excitedly as she got up and hugged Heecheol before sitting down once again.

“Wow, you’re devious, nice,” Sungyeol said smirking.

                Jiyoon grinned back.

“So who was it?” Taeheon asked.

                “Jinyoung Oppa,” Jiyoon replied.

“Oh so that’s why Junhyung knew who it was,” Hara said.

“But only Chanshik and Jinyoung are back, the rest are coming back a little later,” Junhyung said.

“Jiyoon must be happy to see Baro again,” Dongwoo said.

“Well yeah! I mean I haven’t seen my best friend in two years what do you think?”

“Aigoo, putting you and Baro together means more trouble for us,” Taeheon said.

“Ah, Jinyoung, Baro and Chanshik, was it? Aren’t they B1A4?” Sungyeol asked.

“Yeah, Chanshik- er well I guess you would probably know him as Gongchang is related to Jiyoon, Junhyung, Taeheon and Heecheol, they’re all cousins, and Baro and Jiyoon grew up together and are best friends. They were a menacing trio along with Soyoon,” Minwoo said.

“Oh- so you’re all cousins?” Sungyeol asked.

“Yeah, well hopefully Hara-Eonnie and I will be in-laws soon,” Jiyoon teased as Hara blushed and Junhyung found his hands more interesting.

“But what is this thing about being a menace?” Sungyeol asked.

The food arrived, and everyone got their orders, “Thank you for the food! We will eat well!” they all said.

Taeheon and Heecheol were squabbled over each other’s food tasting the other’s side-dishes, Junhyung and Dongwoo were talking about some new project that Dongwoo was going to work on with his groupmate Hoya, and Hara and Minwoo were talking about they both wanted  go to Japan with their respective groups.

Jiyoon answered Sungyeol’s question, “My friend Soyoon, Baro and I were a trouble-making trio when we were young, and Soyoon is extremely innocent looking, and everyone thought that she was too, so we used that to our advantage and always got out of trouble.”

“Wow, we would have been good friends when we were young then,” Sungyeol commented.

Sungyeol and Jiyoon continued to swap stories of their childhood adventures and recent endeavors. They established that Sungyeol was an Oppa. The group enjoyed dinner and bid each other night with plans to meet up later again. Although it was going to be Heecheol’s turn to treat Taeheon took the bill since he knew that Heecheol’s wallet an bank account would be empty by the end of the week thanks to their younger cousin. Jiyoon ensured that Heecheol would meet her afterschool at Soyoon’s work so she can get cake that she had been craving all weekend.

She and Sungyeol bullied got Dongwoo into going to Kamilia Kafé and treating them for dessert. He agreed as he needed to meet up with Hoya, and Kamilia was the perfect half-way point. They all ordered a slice of chocolate-vanilla marble cake with vanilla frosting and strawberries. Dongwoo ordered one for Hoya too.

They chatted more as Jiyoon complained to Dongwoo about how Zico was being really annoying lately and how she and her friends couldn’t come up with names for their group yet. Sungyeol pitched in saying how older sibling or in his case older leaders tend to nag so much, Jiyoon replied that Zico was only seven minutes and thirty-four seconds older than her. Sungyeol was surprised to learn that her twin was none other than the composing genius leader of Block B.

The café door opened and Jiyoon was surprised to see yet another person she met today.

The person eyed her as he made his way over to their table; Jiyoon realized that this guy was probably Hoya. She should have known.

       “HOYA!” Dongwoo called him over.

“What’s up?” He said as he sauntered over, “Oh, hello again,” he said to Jiyoon.

“Annyeonghaseyo,” Jiyoon replied once more formally.

“You two know each other?” Sungyeol asked.

“Yeah, sort of, he sat next to me on the bus this afternoon,” Jiyoon replied.

“You sort-of but not really know a lot of people,” Sungyeol said Jiyoon smirked, Hoya sat down next to Dongwoo.

“Jiyoon this is Hoya- my best friend and group mate, Hoya this is Jiyoon- she is like a dongsaeng to me,” Dongwoo introduced them officially.

“Dongwoo Oppa? Did Sungjong change dye his hair?” Jiyoon asked.

“Yeah, how did you know?” he replied.

Jiyoon turned to Hoya, “Was one of the other boys with you Sungjong?”

        “Yeah,” he replied.

“So that’s why I couldn’t recognize him, I thought he looked familiar!” Jiyoon said.

“So you know Sungjong?” Sungyeol asked.

“Yeah, I’ve met him and Sunggyu Oppa a few times,” Jiyoon replied.

“I’m guessing you and Sungyeol just recently met?” Hoya said.

They both nodded, the four of them chatted and Jiyoon asked Hoya and Dongwoo more about their duo project, as a rapper she couldn’t help but be curious. Soon their cake was all finished as they were getting their stuff together, the café door opened once more. Jiyoon’s eyes widened in surprise when she the three figures enter and she let out a sigh, she was going to get a lot of questions tonight or tomorrow.

Dongwoo was the second to notice the three, “Oh! Zico-yah, Minhyuk, Jaehyo hyung! How have you guys been?”

Chapter 1: Mmm I like the writing! But personally the plot doesn't capture me, and I'll tell you why as not-offensively as I can manage! So please don't be hurt by my words <3 I'm only trying to give some feedback and not trying to put you down!

1. Your writing is great. It flows well and enough detail is given. But try to vary your sentence structures. If you put a full stop and begin a new sentence, look at your last 2 sentences and try to decide on a different word to begin the sentence. For example, it could be "It was ___. But___. Although___." instead of "But___. But___. However___."
2. Too much information not evolving the plot is given. Eg. the stuff about the cousins and Zico's name. The beginning of a story/chapter is especially important in setting the scene, so it's better to have a mood or atmosphere build up in the first few paragraphs, rather than a lot of side notes for character(s).
3. Some things that needed more explanation weren't explained. Now I'm not sure if you went on to talk about what Block B is what the 'group names' are for, but for impatient readers like me who want to understand things from the first chapter, I wouldn't give you a second chance by checking out the next few chapters just to find out what I was wondering about in chapters one.

ALL IN ALL A GREAT EFFORT! This is your first fic so it really is a very decent effort! My first fic was ugly as hell (Childhood Promises) so please don't be discouraged by my harsh advice! Practice makes perfect! <3 <3

Chapter 2: Okay... I loved it!!! I'm only commenting now because I was reading it slowly and trying to grasp the ideas put forth. I usually read everything quickly because it's slow but I like the pace this is set at!! Hope you update soon, you haven't given names to your characters yet >.<
