Tabi Baby Daddy

Big Bang oneshots/scenarios

“I don’t think we should see each other anymore,” Choi Seunghyun read, his thick eyebrows ascending as he re-read the text message. A small part of him wanted to at least ask why and at most beg Bliss to reconsider. The more dominant part of him was hurt and converted the pain into anger. His fingers flew over the keys of his Galaxy SIII as he wrote a reply, “Agreed. Buh-bye.”

Just like that she was out of his life. It was odd not waking up to the chime of his phone informing him of the arrival of her good morning messages. It felt wrong getting dressed for events without asking for her advice on his clothing choices. Going to sleep was a joyless necessity now that he couldn’t call her to talk before he went to bed, his dreams empty for a lack of the inspiration her voice used to supply. He found himself thinking about her more and more often as days melted into weeks and those weeks rounded up to a month. He would be sitting in his living room and have flashbacks to when she would come over to play video games with him. He threw away his barely used toothpaste because it was the brand she used. He daydreamed about being with her and more than once had mistakenly called one of the girls of 2NE1 by her name. He spent half an hour in a store sniffing perfumes in a futile attempt to find the one she wore. He did all these things but refused to admit that he missed her.

The members of Big Bang noticed that something was off with their hyung and at first they tried to help, each in his own particular way, until one day Seunghyun blew up when Seungri tried to give him some girl’s number. They left him to his misery after that. None of them had known about the affair he’d been having with Bliss and to talk about it, about her, with them would have been too painful for him. The rapper buried himself in work and managed to get ahead of schedule. This both pleased and disturbed his superiors. Teddy was concerned about how much of himself the younger man was putting into this album, Choice was stunned at the power the lyrics possessed, Kush caught him doing all-nighters too many times to count and Papa YG himself had never seen T.O.P blaze through tracks so fast. As far as break-ups went, Seunghyun thought he was doing pretty damn well.

Then he started to see her everywhere. He would be walking to the YG building and he would spot someone with the same hair and the same fashion sense and he would follow them for blocks only to have them turn out to be random strangers. The disappointment of it ate at him. He stopped letting himself hope to see her. He didn’t even know why he wanted to. What would he say to the woman who tossed him aside like a pair of dirty socks? He was better off without her.

Since he had cleared his recording schedule he had a little extra free time. Without Bliss he chose to waste his days in the botanical gardens. They had pretty flowers and ponds and other things to distract him from his own thoughts. His nights were harder to occupy and he found himself wandering down the streets that housed his favorite nightclubs. It was on such a night that he encountered Bliss. She was walking arm in arm with a pretty brunette guy, talking softly to him as they strolled. The voice of wisdom told Seunghyun to leave them alone. He obeyed it for the moment.

Another week went by and sleep became a rare event for the rapper. He developed dark circles to rival Seungri’s and endured teasing from some family and friends about it. He blamed it on his nonexistent allergies keeping him from being able to sleep well. The lie was taken as truth and he received so many kinds of allergy relievers he could have started his own pharmacy. One day he decided to go out to lunch at his favorite restaurant. The food was good, the staff amiable and the wine cheap. He was more than a little buzzed when he left an hour later.

As luck would have it he ran into Bliss during his ‘walk’ back to the Big Bang dorm. He spotted her from a distance, identifying the combination of her black and blonde hair and the rose tattoo that dominated her right leg from the knee to the ankle. She was wearing a pretty polka dotted red tutu skirt with calf-length black goth boots and a blue varsity style jacket. He quickened his pace and caught her by the arm, pulling her into a deserted dead end alley with one hand over to keep her from screaming. She ceased struggling when he called her by name. She recognized his voice and spun round with flashing eyes to face him.

“What the hell, man?” She put her hands on her hips and glared at him.

‘”Who was that guy last night?” He heard himself ask.

“Noneya,” Bliss responded, flipping her hair out of her face.

“What?”

“None ya ing business,” she clarified.

“Was he the reason you pulled the plug on us?” Seunghyun demanded.

“No. Not that I owe you any bloody explanation.”

“Why are you angry at me? I did nothing wrong. You’re the one who ended things with no warning whatsoever. Do you know what hell my life’s been since then?” Seunghyun wanted to take the words back the moment he said them. Bliss’s eyes sparked green fire.

“You did nothing wrong? What hell your life’s been? Please. You’re not the one pregnant by some stupid cheating manwho-,” she clasped her hands over .

“I never cheated! Not even on-wait. What? I could have sworn I just heard you say you were pregnant.” Seunghyun waited for her denial and met only silence. The slender woman standing in front of him was like a statue, hands on her lips and her eyes directed at the ground. “Bliss? I-is it true? Are you?”

Horrified at what she’d left slip out she just nodded. She had ended things with him precisely so that he would never find out and now she had gone and defeated her own purpose. . He was never supposed to know. She was supposed to go to London, have the baby and raise it there without him ever knowing. Tears pricked her eyes and dimmed her vision.

“Omo,” Seunghyun was happy and worried and confused and scared and excited and just a little bit angry that she hadn’t planned on telling him that his baby was growing inside of her. He couldn’t breathe for a moment he was so stunned. Then he imagined life with her and the baby – he was already hoping it would be a girl – and his world was back in motion.

“I’m sorry,” he heard Bliss mumble and looked up to see silver lanes on the alabaster of her cheeks. He closed the distance between them, wiped the tears away with the pad of his thumb and wrapped his arms around her before dropping to his knees to say annyeong to his lil prince or princess, his head full of plans for the very bright future he was envisioning.

Chapter 39: Love it! Loved how you slowed down the pace for readers with the way you put your descriptions together. I literally felt there was a time freeze right before the sun dips underneath the horizon. Everything around you is clear and vivid right before you die. The best line for me was "train crashing into a china shop". It's like a rude awakening amongst all the serenity. Yes, it's short... But perfectly short & beautiful!

Chapter 38: Omigawd... It's been too long! I've forgotten how beautiful you write! The analogies... The metaphors were on point. Felt like I was reading poetry, lol. It was great! Thank you so much for this one shot! I felt every bit of the character's awkwardness and sad sorry attempts to fit in... Made me have flashbacks for a moment >.<

And meeting Tobae? I would've died! This girl is definitely braver than me! This story seems unfinished, now that I've had a chance to think about it. Sequel!

Chapter 37: UGH! You're killing me! All these sad stories... at first I think she's a psycho you know what! But even then... towards the end, I still think that, lol. I think it's because of my POV on suicides and whatnot and not a reflection on the story itself. But her running away and grinning didn't help in my mind either. Cue psycho music!

As usual, story is well-written. Choice of words are great. But I can't help but feel like we've read this story before almost. It's very similar to the other Tabi story kind-of - in which his girlfriend is in the hospital because of an eating disorder. I know (different subject) but almost the same vibe (him feeling helpless).

And then there's Teddy. Why is he helping her? I just want to strangle him. "Stand by her no matter what" - makes me believe those five years meant a lot to him. But this?! Omigerd... He's s/b the older, logical one too... If it was another character, maybe I'd believe it. But not Teddy. =[
