Kyuhyun helped his bulging wife onto the examination room, pulling a chair for him to sit down as he stood behind him, eyes watchful, eyeing his wife for any signs of discomfort or pain. Eunhyuk had grown quite considerably from his last hospital visit and though this was just a routine checkup of the baby and his mother’s health, Kyuhyun still felt a deep sense of apprehension the moment he had stepped into the white fluorescent lit halls.

Another chance.

Eunhyuk had given him another chance. To most it would seem like nothing much had changed from before but for Kyuhyun it was as though he had been give the elixir of life. He still slept in the guest bedroom and he still couldn’t hold Eunhyuk the way he wanted to, the way he needed to but that didn’t matter…none of it mattered because at least Eunhyuk had allowed him near him…and that in itself was a miracle…a boundary Kyuhyun thought that he would never get to cross.

Sure he was greedy, wanting the same affections that Eunhyuk had showered him before all this had befallen his little haven, but he also knew that that was a wish too soon its time and if fate allowed and Eunhyuk permitted, they could be a happy family once again.

Kyuhyun blinked when the doctor shut the folder he was reading through, turning to smile at the mother-to-be, “it seems like you have been looking after yourself well, you vital signs are looking well.” Eunhyuk gave a brilliant smile as he heard those words, “We will need to do a scan today to see the baby and how far along it has arrived so please follow me in there,” he gently said as he gestured to the door on the right. Eunhyuk wobbled up and Kyuhyun helped him, supporting him by the shoulders, not noticing how the doctor smiled when he noticed the care Kyuhyun was giving Eunhyuk. He still remembered the couple. He had been so tempted to report the matter before but given the fact that the victim himself had not wanted to press charges or even admit to the abuse he had suffered, he could not do much but pray that he would be okay and that the husband wouldn’t do anything that would result in losing a life…if not two.

“Please have a seat here and lift up you shirt Eunhyuk-shi,” the doctor said as he wheeled a screen like device nearer and then left the couple for a while to get the gel he had left in the examination room. Kyuhyun helped Eunhyuk up and stepped back a little as Eunhyuk reached down to pull up his shirt, revealing his swollen belly for the first time to Kyuhyun. He wiggled a little to get more comfortable, legs spread because of his swollen belly and feeling a little subconscious, Eunhyuk wrapped a small blanket placed on the side around his legs.
