"There are many types of love in the world, but never the same love twice." 

Pitter patter, pitter patter. It was raining again, and memories, good ones, started coming back again. This time it was about Shin Hye's first love. 

Summer camp. Sixteen. First kiss. Falling in love. 

It has already been ten years, but Shin Hye can still remember the sweet happenings of the camp as vividly as though it just happened yesterday. She was just in her teens, sixteen in fact, when she joined the camp during summer. Having that thrill for adventure, she enrolled in hope to discover excitement but she ended up discovering love. 

Everyone had an index number and were all paired up. Shin Hye's was 52 and her partner's was 40. 

Three days of summer camp was just enough for them to fall in love; from being strangers to being friends to being lovers. 

She still remembered how it all happened - on the last night of camp. Everyone was asleep, and suddenly 40 tugged at Shin Hye's arm gently, arousing her from a light sleep. He motioned her to follow him quietly, and she did. He led her to an open field, where the moon illuminated everything it shone upon. 40 rustled the nearby bushes, and immediately, fireflies began flying out, sprinkling their yellow light along their paths. 

"Aren't they beautiful?" Shin Hye remembered 40 saying, "They remind me of you." 

It was that night when Shin Hye started seeing 40 differently. Just the day before, he was just a kid - someone she regarded as a good friend, a good buddy. But now the person before her eyes, he was a man - someone who could keep her safe, someone who could hold her, someone who could love her. 

40 cupped a firefly with his hands, and opened it slightly to let it come into view for Shin Hye to admire, before letting it go again. The firefly flew away, but Shin Hye and 40 were still there, noses touching, and perhaps each realizing their feelings for the other. 

His gaze dropped to meet Shin Hye's eyes and his fingers curled up against her chin, tilting her head towards him, before kissing her sweetly on her lips. 

She never managed to get his name. 

They laid on the grass, they gazed at stars, they fell asleep. 

And the next day, Shin Hye woke to find 40 not beside her, she woke to find herself alone. 

She heard from the other camp members that a very urgent call came in for 40 in the wee morning. He had to leave because his mother was involved in a very serious accident and was in the hospital in critical condition. 

Is his mother okay? Is he okay? What is his name? Will she ever see him again? 

She couldn't help but sob as those thoughts raced around in her head, but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel that 40 had kissed her farewell on her forehead before leaving. 

Shin Hye rubbed away her tears as she gave out a small laugh. It has already been ten long years, and she can't believe that she'll be silly enough to cry over such a matter. The rain had stopped and so had her thoughts. 

Her first love, came so early, and left so quick.
