Forbidden Boys

Eunbi frowned when she entered her homeroom, because several of the students shot the girl dirty glances. Even some of the boys were staring at her with disgust. “Ignore them.” Ahbin’s words interrupted her train of thoughts just as she was about to take her seat, one that was located in the middle of the room. However, it didn’t take many seconds before a group of girls turned to face her, “don’t you think we know you started the rumour?” one of them stated with a scowl, and soon every other girl nodded or joined in with their own statements, “exactly.” Eunbi tried to zone out, to ignore everyone’s words and think of other things, something that became impossible after hearing another female student exclaim, “people like you are the worst.” she remained quiet even though it hurt, because really, what else was she supposed to do? Scream and shout at them that it was all lies, how the person who’d started the rumour wasn’t her, but Luhan himself. None of it would’ve made any difference though, since they were obviously going to defend the older male no matter what.

Luckily and much to Eunbi’s relief did everyone quiet down when the teacher stepped inside the classroom to start the lesson. It was an hour of which she couldn’t concentrate at all, not only due to her classmates remarks and the fact that they all seemed to side with Luhan, but also because of the male himself. He’d gone too far now. Fine, she could admit she shouldn’t have lied to her mother, but what he was doing in return weren’t any better and did only serve as fuel for Eunbi’s hate. Truth to be told, it was slowly getting to a point where the girl needed a break from them both, and the subject of transferring school had popped up in her mind as she laid in bed the previous night. At least that would give her some peace and quiet for a couple of hours a day. Whether her mother would agree on it was another deal since the older woman had wanted Eunbi to attend the same school as Luhan and Sehun so they could get to know each other better. What her mother didn’t understand though, was that the three of them disliked one another. And it was safe to say that nothing would change that.

It didn’t get any better when lunch approached and they, Ahbin and her, headed for the cafeteria to get something to eat, because students all around them turned to stare. Like that wasn’t enough Luhan decided to show, a taunting smile evident on his lips. He knew more than well what he’d caused and felt pretty damn proud when seeing the devastation in the younger girl’s eyes. She had to know he was not one to mess with. “Oppa don’t bother about the rumour,” he turned to stare at the unfamiliar girl who’d spoken before she continued, “she’s just doing that to gain attention.” Luhan wanted to scoff but kept his cool, as he couldn’t let people know it was all fake, not yet. Eunbi though, gave the male a hard glare as she passed him by, something Ahbin noticed, “you two don’t seem to get along too well.” that would be the understatement of the year. “No. We don’t.”

The cafeteria was chaotic, like a scene from some wildlife documentary. But then again, her previous high school had been pretty much the same. A couple of students running around chasing each other, people trying to find somewhere to sit and to top it off, a sound level so high it was ringing in her ears. It was, in other terms, just like any other high school. “We only have forty five minutes to eat and do whatever before the classes start again.” it wasn’t much of a break, but hopefully enough for Eunbi to eat and get some rest. In fact, she was going to make the best out of it, and thus not let anyone destroy her high school life because what everyone else thought didn’t matter, not when she knew what was true and what wasn’t. “Then, let’s go get something to eat.” with a sincere smile upon her lips did she link arms with Ahbin, and that before they headed over to the line of hungry students who stood in line to retrieve their food.

It truly seemed like the whole school knew about the rumour because more, totally unknown students, were whispering and pointing fingers. The scene irritated her and made the girl question their sanity since they, if anyone, should know how Luhan acted. How he was known as being no more than a big flirt, someone who changed girls every other day. “Come, I know a place where we won’t be disturbed.” Ahbin tugged at the sleeve of her blazer, thus causing Eunbi to shift her attention. But she didn’t say anything and instead let Ahbin lead the way.

The rooftop ended up being the so-called secret hideout. She understood why a few seconds later, as they rounded a corner and a garden with colorful flowers came into view. It was a haven on top of hell, aka. school. And all Eunbi could do was stare at the beautiful sight. “It’s pretty isn’t it?” she nodded and almost lost grip of her meal, one they weren’t even allowed to bring up there, as the school rules forbid that. But no one had seen them and they could only hope no one would. “Most of the students don’t even know this exist.” Ahbin informed all the whilst she took a seat on the bench standing alongside the wall, “that’s good though. I mean, it’s less people to share it with.” the other girl laughed and Eunbi couldn’t help but to smile as well, mostly due to the positive energy Ahbin radiated, but also because the other girl made her forget about everything else for a while. “You know. I actually thought you would be just like Luhan and Sehun.” Eunbi, despite knowing it wasn’t a good thing to be compared with them, couldn’t help but ask, “really, why?”

“Well. The rumours I heard said you were their sister, as in real sister. Not stepsister. And with the baggage they have I believed you to be somewhat like them. You know, smoking, partying and sleeping around.” Ahbin explained and Eunbi began to understand why so many of the students had been staring at her when she wandered around the corridors the day before. They all tried to figure out whether Eunbi was like the two males. “I promise. I’m definitely not like them.” the girl stated as she sat down next to Ahbin, who smiled, “I guess that’s a relief.” Eunbi wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she turned out exactly like them. Still, the girl couldn’t help but to wonder what kind of baggage they held, as she knew close to nothing about their lives and the way they’d lived before. Not that she’d dared to ask either, considering how they both disliked her and all, and to ask their father felt insensitive.

“Are you okay? You seem a bit lost.” Eunbi blinked, she’d totally forgotten about the other girl for a moment, “sorry. It’s nothing.” she cleared and continued to eat. But it didn’t take long though, before she put her chopsticks down and glanced at Ahbin. “Actually. There is something.” she paused, as if to gather her thoughts, “what exactly happened to Luhan and Sehun?” surprise became evident on the other girl’s face. Ahbin even dropped her chopsticks due to the shock, which in turn increased Eunbi’s curiosity and need to know. “You don’t know?” the outburst was sudden, but the girl only shook her head in response. “Really? That’s weird.” indeed. However, Eunbi hadn’t wanted to ask anyone about why their mother wasn’t around, since she had felt it was none of her concern. “Well, all I know is that their mother passed away a few years ago.” it was Eunbi’s time to feel overwhelmed, and even slightly remorseful of all the stuff she’d said and done in the past, “oh.” she couldn’t come up with anything else to say, she didn’t really know what to say in a situation as such, and was therefore relieved when the bell rang.

The corridors were filled with students and the two of them had to hurry if they were going to get to class in time, because both had to return their food trays to the cafeteria. Half-running down the hallway Eunbi accidentally bumped into someone, thus causing the tray and herself to crash against the floor, “ouch.” she sat up and immediately began checking whether something was hurt or bleeding, only to sigh in relief when seeing that everything was alright. “Sorry, I should probably look where I’m going next time.” a voice interrupted and the girl glanced up, mildly shocked by the incident. But the sight that met her eyes shocked her even more, “y -you.” it was him, the still unnamed male from the airport. The person whose smile melted her heart. And he was attending the same school as her.

I kinda sad actually that most of my fav fics are gone its either bc of the author deactivated their acc or put it in draft (revamp reason) or more heartbreaking, they just delete it (T_T)
