chapter two

 The husband-to-be II

"Yixing, you should go with Ha Neul have some time together. Your wedding is in a few days at least get to know each other." Ha Neul was mentally cursing herself for not being able to stand up for herself, she looked at her brother Young hoping for some kind of support but nothing he was still mad about her escapade. Yixing nodded to what his mother said, he lend his hand to Ha Neul to help her stand up. In her head she was killing him, but in reality she just smiled and took his hand.

"Yah, where were you? I was searching like a madman for you," Ha Neul eyes widened when she saw him barging in screaming like some psycho. He grabbed her by the shoulders and was turning and twisting her around to see if nothing had happened to her. He finally hugged her and smiled, "pabo, you should have answered when I was calling you. I was really worried." She put her arms around him "I'm sorry, I won't do it again."  

"You are damn right you won't, next time just tell me." He let go of her and turned to see who her husband to be was. Yixing looked at him and observed. He was around the same age as Ha Neul he guessed, he just hoped not to be in some weird love triangle. The young man glared at Yixing before turning to Young Kwang.

"Hyung are you really letting her get married to him?" He pointed at Yixing with a look of disgust. " Kang Jun, Where are your manners that's not a way to behave in front of your brother-in-law," his mother grounded him before turning to her in-laws, " please excuse him for his behavior as her twin brother he sometimes gets over-caring about his sister. He always had problems with letting Ha Neul go anywhere without him or even having friends." "Umma, you are making me sound weird. And she has friends, it just happens to be the same as mine," a triumphant smile appeared on his face, 1-0 for Jun.

"ooh twins, we didn't know Ha Neul was a twin, that's just cute," Mrs Zhang smiled, while looking at the teenagers, "I know I'm cute but Ha Neul..." he laughed about the thought of seeing his sister acting cute, she just couldn't do that. 

Yixing looked at the both of them, they did look alike, how could he have missed that? His imaginary was working overtime again, he chuckled at his thoughts which earned him another glare from the young man. "Leave your sister alone, she is going out with Yixing," his father's voice was stern but that didn't change a thing about the situation. Kang Jun wasn't really the obeying type of the family, that was Ha Neul's role not his.

"I'm going with you two" he linked his arm with Ha Neul, she suddenly relaxed knowing her twin is with her. Yixing frowned, am I going to spend our first date with her brother tagging along?

"Jun~, you can't go you have to help me with something," Young stood up and dragged his brother away from the awkward couple. "But I want to go with Neul~aaa,h" he pouted while being dragged away by his big brother. Yixing took this as his cue to get out before the crazy twin would try to follow them again or some other sibling if she had one.

Ha Neul just followed the young man out of the house into his car, she put her head against the headrest, plugged in her earphones closed her eyes and some music. Yixing was a bit perplexed, she just ignored him. He was going to start the engine when he noticed she didn't put on her seatbelt, "euh, Ha Neul-shi, you should put your seatbelt on," damn yesterday I was calling her baby, what a weird situation.

Ha Neul wasn't listening, it was more like she wasn't hearing a thing. As he didn't get a response he just leaned over to put her seatbelt on. When his face was near hers she opened her eyes and stared at him. Still staying in the same awkward position without even moving an inch she took out an earphone and said "What are you doing right now?"  She was calm and just looked at him, he swallowed "seat belt, I told you to put it on but you didn't hear me I guess." She put on her seatbelt and he sat back in his chair.

"Let's go somewhere to eat, I didn't have breakfast." It was her first sentence to him and it was more like an order than a request, he couldn't help but staring " if you don't want to I get it" she closed her eyes again. He drove for a couple of minutes without saying a word before stopping in front of a small bistro. He took an earphone out "we are here let's go" I will tell her when we are eating. They came in and Ha Neul was surprised of his choice, it was cute and cozy definitely not something she would chose. She liked it when the place was lively with a lot of people around. They both sat at a table near the window, she put her phone and earphones into her purse.

He couldn't help but stare at her and feeling his lips curve into a smile, "what do you want to eat?"
"I want an omelet and one Americano," she said without looking up from her menu.

He went to the counter to order, when he sat she finally took her courage and spoke "Yixing-shi, I know we are getting married in a few days, but WE don't know each other and actually I would prefer to keep things like that. I agreed to this marriage just because my parents were nagging and started threatening me of sending me to my grandparents. So from my part you can do what you want and I won't mind your business in return don't mind mine. When times comes let us get a divorce. I don't know why you agreed but I was just trying to save myself. You must have your reasons but I don't really care as long as we understand each other. Okay?"

Now he was sure she didn't recognize him, he was planning on telling her but after her little outburst just now he didn't feel like it. Finally their coffee came and he sipped before giving her an answer " I'm not okay with that," a small smile formed on his lip. Ha Neul took out her phone who was vibrating but didn't look at it and raised her eyebrow hearing what Yixing said, "why not?" she spat a bit angry.

"Because even I we don't love each other we are getting MARRIED, I can't just ignore my wife. I'm going to put effort in our marriage so you should do the same." He sipped from he coffee again, " and I don't believe in divorce so I'm sorry but don't expect that from me. I can't refuse this marriage, don't ask that either. Basically we are stuck with each other and it would be better if you just tried to get along with me I don't bite."

Well occasionally I do bite; the mark on your shoulder proves that.

He had to restrain himself from laughing as his thoughts went back to yesterday. She sipped of her coffee and sighed, this wasn't how it was supposed to be. He was more stubborn than she had anticipated. Refusing this marriage was out of the question for he too, her parents would turn her life into hell. More than now. She would just marry him for now and work on the divorce part later after she graduated . "Let's be friends first," he looked at her and reached out his hand. "Friends?" He asked again, she smirked and ignored him. "I heard you are still a senior," he tried having a conversation but she answered, "let's just eat," and shoved a piece of bread in . They finished eating in silence.

This girl wasn't like this yesterday, maybe she will loosen up after some time.
