Chapter 1

On the Wrong Block

I couldn't believe it. I was standing in front of my dreams; all I had to do was take a few steps forward to enter Seoul Arts and Entertainment school. I wanted to go inside the school, but I was told to enter my boarding room first. I sighed and decided to wait until the next day to know what it truly felt like to walk in a hall of stardom. I dragged my suitcase behind me and walked around the corner, soon realizing I had no idea where I was going. I looked around for people that could possibly help me, but having it be the weekend, no one was out side the school. I walked to a near by park and sat on a bench. I looked at my phone, seeing it was already four-thirty. I sighed and drank water.

"So what's a cute girl like you doing by herself?" a voice came. I ignored it, knowing it couldn't be me.

"Hm, are you the quiet type?" the person said again. I didn't want to be dumb, but I looked up anyway. My eyes grew large as I saw a gorgeous guy looking at me and smiling.

"Y-you're not possibly..." I said, shocked a person would randomly talk to me like that.

"Of course I'm talking to you. There's no other pretty person around." He said and sat next to me. My face went to the ground, burning red.

"Hey, no need to be shy, I'm just being friendly." he said. I couldn't look up. I mean, he was beautifully gorgeous.

"Yah! Quit flirting and let's go home!" a girl's voice said.

"Ow!" he yelled. I looked up and saw a girl with her fist on the gorgeous boy's head. She saw me and smiled.

"Sorry if this idiot made you feel uncomfortable. I'll make him learn later." she said. I nodded slowly, wondering what she would do to the boy.

"I wasn't making her feel uncomfortable, I was trying to be a friend." He tried to justify himself, rubbing his head.

"Shut up. Sorry, we'll leave you alone now." the girl said and dragged the boy. I gulped as I got the courage to talk to a person I've never met.

"W-wait!" I said before they could get too far.

"See, I knew she wanted my number." The boy said. My face blushed again, and the girl pushed him.

"Please tell me he's not right. You do not want him." she said. I laughed a little and waved my hand in front of my face.

"No, no, I'm just kind of... lost." I admitted, feeling like an idiot.

"I can help!" the boy said again.

"I will pay you to shut up." the girl growled.

"I charge a won a minute." he smiled proudly. She rolled her eyes.

"No worries, I can find your destination." she said to me. I nodded, a little nervous about her reaction.

"I'm looking for the dormitry for Seoul Arts and Entertainments school..." I said. Her eyes turned bright, and excited.

"Are you serious!? We go there!" she said. My eyes grew the same size as hers.

"Really!? I don't want to sound too sudden, but I'm so glad I met someone before school." I said.

"Don't worry. Jaehyo, I guess it's a good thing you messed with her." she laughed at the boy.

"I wasn't messing with her. I just wanted to talk to the girl." he said, looking at me.

"I take back what I said. So, let's take you to the dorm." she said, lightly laughing. I nodded with excitement. I took my suitcase in hand, only to have another hand follow, slightly brushing mine.

"Allow me, miss." the boy said with a beautiful smile in his eyes. He took the suitcase, dragging it along.

"So, what's your name?" the girl asked me.

"I'm Choi Yeseul. What's yours? I feel rude for not asking." I said. She took her head back.

"Don't feel rude, I honestly don't care. I'm Kang Yunhee." she said.

"Yunhee-sunbaenim." I said to myself quietly.

"Ew. I hate that term 'sunbaenim'. Yunhee's fine." she said to me. I was surprised. I always adressed someone with more experience with that.

"Same with me. I'm Ahn Jaehyo, but I'll let you say 'oppa'." he winked to me. I blushed like a madman. I saw Yunhee glare at him.

"What?" he said, acting innocent. She rolled her eyes again.

"Well, here's the lovely dormitry." she said. My jaw hung open. It was huge.

"Yeah, that's the famous face most new people make. So, what's your room number?" she asked. I totally forgot, and took out a piece of paper.

"Um, block B, room twenty nine." I read out loud.

"Wait, I don't know where that is. And that's bad because I've been going here for a while." Yunhee admitted. I saw Jaehyo smirk, and laugh.

"What? Do you know where it is?" Yunhee said agrily. He nodded.

"Yeseul, that's the boys dorm."

"What!?" Yunhee and I both yelled.

"Come on, let's talk to the dorm director." Jaehyo said, still laughing.

Yunhee and Jaehyo were talking to the director as I was awkwardly sitting on a bench away from them. I looked around with my eyes and decided to take my phone out again. It was five now, and I was honestly very fatigued. I found a vending machine, and stood up to get some orange juice. I inserted a few coins, having one fall to the floor. I sighed to go pick it up, but it trailed away to someone else's feet. The person smiled and picked it up.

"I guess it's my lucky day!" he cheered and put it in his pocket. I opened my mouth, but I was too nervous to say anything. He obviously noticed my eyes on the coin. His eyes grew big.

"I'm so sorry, is this yours?" he asked. I nodded.

"You should have said so. I'm sorry." he said again and pulled the coin out of his pocket.

"Were you getting something?" he asked me. I nodded again, a little speechless. He was adorable for a tall boy. I immediately had to forgive him.

"I recommend the coke here. It's always chilled." he smiled. He took my hand and put the coin in it. I severely blushed.

"U-um, thank you..." I stammered and put the coin in. I punched in the numbers for the orange juice. He frowned.

"Aw, I thought you would get the coke and share with me."

"Oh, I'm sorry..." I said and took a sip before I could get fatigued to the point of passing out. He laughed.

"It's okay, I was just a little thirsty." he said.

"God, the directors are so stupid!" I heard Yunhee yell.

"Uh-oh... someone got Yunhee noona angry." the boy said, a little frightened.

"Hey, I'm not really complaining." Jaehyo said as the two appeared.

"Yeseul, I'm sorry." Yunhee started.

"I couldn't get that to let you switch to the girls dorm." she said loud enough to make sure the director heard her.

"Hm? What's happening noona?" the other boy asked Yunhee.

"Well, Yeseul, they said that the owner probably misread your name to think you were a boy and they can't let you switch. Apparently, the girls dorms are full." Yunhee explained.

"Hm? Who's Yeseul?" the boy asked. Jaehyo came around and set his arm on my shoulder.

"Jihoon, this is Choi Yeseul. She's our new neighbor."

His eyes grew large. Did he just say "our"? As in two adorably gorgeous boys were my neighbors.

"She is!?" he said, a little excited. Jaehyo nodded as the boy hugged me, shaking me side to side.

"Yay! I love neighbors!" he said and set me down.

"Choi Yeseul, right? I'm Pyo Jihoon!" he said.

"Well... I guess we should get you settled." Yunhee grumbled and started for the elevator.

Jaehyo set my suitcase on my room floor, as I gazed in it. It was perfect. The kitchen, the living room, and the bedroom, all to myself. The only thing missing was some color.

"Well, you're lucky you get a single room." Jaehyo said as he set his head on my shoulder. I didn't know what to do so Yunhee yanked him off.

"You are! We have to share with five more people!" Jihoon complained. I drank my orange juice a bit more.

"Yeseul, do you think you'll like it here?" Yunhee asked. I turned to her and smiled.

"I'll love it. Thank you so much for helping me." I said. She shook her head.

"I couldn't do much. But here's my phone number. Call me or text me if ANYTHING happens. They know what will happen." she glared at Jaehyo and Jihoon. The two gulped. I nodded and gave her mine.

"I'm sorry, Yeseul, it's past the time I can be in this block for a school night." Yunhee frowned.

"It's okay, Yunhee. I think I'll be able to handle it." I lied. I was worried. I mean, come on. I'm a tiny girl in a place full of boys.

"Are you sure?" Yunhee asked me. I let a breath out and nodded.

"Okay. I'll be off. I'll see you later Jihoon." she said and waved.

"Yah! I exist too!" Jaehyo said and hugged her from her back.

"Calm the down, I was joking." she said.

"Bye Jaehyo~." she said and walked away. The two then turned to me.

"So what do you want to do? We could play games, watch your tv, we can eat..." Jihoon continued to say.

"Or, she can get some rest." Jaehyo said.

"Oh, you're right. I'll see you later noona!" Jihoon said and skipped to his room. I waved to him.

"I'll be leaving you alone, but..." he said. I tensed up as he got closer to me. Goodness, he was tall.

"If you ever need anything, I'm just a room away." he said. He stared in my eyes and he just smirked.

"You look cute when you blush, but your dimples when you smile are cuter." he said and poked my cheek. I swear, I must've burned his finger. He waved and closed the door to my room. I let a breath out. I walked to my bedroom and flopped on the bed. It felt so nice to be able to just relax. Then something reminded my brain about my two other suitcases filled with my daily needs.

"Come on Ye! You told yourself you can do anything!" I said to myself and drank a little more juice to boost my low blood sugar. The last thing I needed was an insulin shock in a place where no one knows I'm diabetic.

I went down the elevator by myself, worried about boys finding me. Luckily, I didn't run in to any. I just walked to the desk of the directors.

"Umm... Excuse me..." I said with a shaking voice.

"Hm? Oh, you're the girl! Look, I'm really sorry, but we can't change your rooms." he started.

"I'm not here about that." I told him. He put his hand to his chest.

"Phew. I swear, Yunhee's crazy scary sometimes... So, what do you need?" he asked, relieved.

"I'm supposed to have two more suitcases... have they come in yet?"

"Choi Yeseul, right? Hyung, did two suitcases come?" he asked his partner.

"Yeah... Girls pack a lot." he said and set them next to me. I stared at them.

"I'll be back... I think I'm gonna need two trips." I chuckled and took one with two arms.

"That won't be necessary, my new friend!" a boy came up. He put his face close to mine.

"You're the girl Yunhee texted me about, right? Choi Yeseul?" he asked. I blinked and nodded.

"Alright! I'm Jiho, at your service! Let me take that!" he said and took both my suitcases.

"Oh, are you sure? I packed a great deal..." I said, feeling bad.

"Nah, I need a workout anyway." he smiled and walked to the elevator.

"Thank you so much." I said quietly and he shook his head.

"Yunhee said you'd be a nice person so I wanted to help."

"So, are the boys here... safe?" I asked. He looked at me weirdly. He started to laugh to himself.

"I guess so? I mean, we're boys, we can't help some things." he said. That sent shivers down my spine. He laughed even more.

"I'm just kidding. Besides, having Yunhee as a friend means having a ninja buddy." he said as we got off the elevator.

"Really?" I said, feeling a little more assured. He dragged my suitcases to my room.

"Thank you, again. You saved me a lot of energy." I said.

"No problemo! And if you need anything, we're right across." he waved and walked into his door. I sighed and put my hand to my door.

"What?" I said to myself. It wouldn't open. I hung my head as I realized I locked myself out of my own room.

"First day issues?" I heard.

"Yes... What?!" I shouted, freaking out as a boy with glasses came to me.

"Hey, Yunhee's new friend?" he asked me. How many people did Yunhee tell?

"Y-yes... I'm sorry to bother you, but do you think you could open this?!" I pleaded. My survival needs were in there. He raised his eyebrows, surprised.

"I'm so sorry to yell. I'm just having-,"

"First day issues?" he finished for me. I pouted.

"No worries. The director told me he forgot to pass you your spare key." he said and flashed the key in front of my eyes. My eyes lit up.

"Here." he said and dropped them in my hands.

"Thank you so much!" I said and opened my door.

"Um, what's your name?" I tilted my head, realizing he hasn't introduced himself yet.

"I'm Taeil. Yunhee told me specifically to make sure that you're okay. I'm the most mature one." he proudly said.

"I'll be off now. And enjoy your time here!" he said before walking away. I entered my room and pulled my suitcases in. I just let them sit there and went to lie on the floor of my own living room. I was so tired, I almost fell asleep. I had to fight the urge to and got up to make my routinely dinner. I needed to go buy dinner ingredients, but it was dark out already.

"Ah, Ye! You're so dumb!" I said to myself again. There was no way I could go without a well prepared dinner especially for such a long day. I debated about visiting Jaehyo and asking but I couldn't get the courage. I hit my head with one of my rhythmic gymnastics clubs. I stood up and opened my door. I made sure I had a key before closing it. I took one stride to stand in front of their door. I lifted my hand to knock, but couldn't. I hit my head again and just knocked.

"Coming~!" an unfamiliar voice called. More boys? The door opened to show a redhead with just his jeans and was shirtless. My jaw dropped at the same time his did.

"GIRL!!!" he yelled and pointed at me. I didn't know what to do. I mean the boy had a strong set of abs and his shocked face was pricelessly adorable. I heard Jaehyo laugh from the background.

"U-Kwon, calm down. Didn't Yunhee tell you?" he asked.

"That wasn't lying..." he said.

"Hey, hey, don't call her that. Do you need something?" he asked me. I didn't even know; I was too busy staring at the floor due to embarrassment.

"U-Kwon, go put a shirt on. Yeseul? Are you okay?" he asked again. I shot my head up, only to see Jaehyo's beautiful eyes lock to mine.

"I uh... I realized I don't have anything to make dinner with... can I have a few things?" I shyly asked. He gave his lovely smile.

"Of course. Or you can just eat here, we're getting dinner ready, right hyung?" he shouted.

"If she doesn't eat like crazy like Yunhee, I have enough." Taeil yelled back.

"Great, we have a lovely guest for dinner." he said and pulled my back to enter the room. I was pretty nervous though.

"Um, I don't need to eat here, I just needed to borrow some vegetables and bread or rice..." I said. Jaehyo put his arm around me and pulled me closer to him.

"No, you should stay." he said looking into me again. Taeil came up all of a sudden and took Jaehyo off of me.

"That's my new job apparently." he smiled, happy he was in charge of it.

"So, what are you allergic to?" he asked me. I clammed up.

"I, uh... I can't eat..." I started shaking my words.

"Hm?"

"Just... not a lot of fats or calories or sugars..." I admitted.

"That's fine with me. Guys, we're having a naturals day!" He yelled. I heard the rest of them groan.

"Yah! Why~~?" I heard Zico yell from a different room.

"We have Yeseul over and she prefers that kind of food." he stated.

"Don't worry, the last thing I want to add to you is to make you sick." Taeil said and walked away to the kitchen.

"Yeseul noona!?" I heard Jihoon run up to me.

"H-hello..." I said to him, still not used to his hyperness.

"Hey! Come meet the other hyungs!" he said and pulled my arm. He led me to see Jiho.

"Hyung! Did you meet our neighbor!?"

"Yep, what's up Yeseul? I heard you're stayin for dinner, yo." he said in a rap way. I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Sorry, I've never been greeted in a rap."

"There's a first for everything." he nodded to her and went back to watching tv.

"Hmm... Hyung!" he said and pulled my arm to another person lying on the sofa across from Jiho.

"What~?" he said.

"Did you meet Yeseul noona?" he asked jumping up and down. He sat up.

"Yunhee wasn't lying about a girl in our dorm?" he asked.

"Hi, nice to meet you..." I said shyly. He gave a sly smile.

"Hmm... girls are fun to prank..." he said as he rubbed his hands together.

"Hyung, I would be careful. Yunhee noona told me to take care of her." Jihoon said.

"I know, I know. I'm Park Kyung, don't worry about what I said, I'm never awake anyway." he said. I gave one slow nod.

"Who's next... Hyung!" he said and dragged me to a room with the previously shirtless boy.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry about what happened before." I immediately said to him and bowed. I suddenly felt a hand patting my head.

"It's okay," he said as I started to look up.

"I'm U-Kwon." he smiled brightly. Wtf, man. That smile was a lethal weapon to give him any girl he wants.

"Choi Yeseul." I said to tell him my name. He nodded and put his hands on my cheeks. He squished them. He gasped.

"Minhyuk hyung! You might have a worthy competitor!" he said.

"What the hell are you talking about?" a quiet tone said. Another boy walked up, noticing U-Kwon squishing my face. I didn't know how I was going to survive living next to a bunch of attractive men.

"She might have squishier cheeks than you!" U-Kwon said.

"You called me over here to tell me a random girl has better cheeks than me?" he said, raising an eyebrow.

"Not just any girl. She's living next to us now." Jihoon blabbed.

"Oh, so Yunhee's message was true." he said and looked at me. He gave a simple smile, but still looked a little irritated.

"I'm Lee Minhyuk. I hope you survive school here." he said and walked over to the kitchen.

"Sorry, he's a bit moody because he's on his man period." U-Kwon whispered to me.

"I heard that!" he yelled. U-Kwon and I laughed.

"Dinner's ready!" Taeil shouted.

The dinner was great. All it had were vegetables and brown rice, perfect for my health plan.

"Ah, I miss my fried chicken..." Kyung said.

"Hey, it's Yeseul's first day." Taeil said, picking up his plate.

"Why doesn't she like fried chicken?" Kyung continued to complain.

"Well, I added your cucumbers so be quiet." Taeil finished the argument.

"Um, do you need help with the dishes?" I offered standing up.

"Nope, you need a lot of rest." he said.

"Yep! We get to go to school tomorrow!" Jihoon said, excited.

"You can come here for breakfast too." Taeil told me.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Anytime. Remember, I'm in charge of taking care of you." Taeil said.

"What!? That's what Yunhee told me!" Everybody but Jaehyo and Minhyuk yelled.

"Well, then someone walk her to her room." Taeil instructed. U-Kwon stood up before Jaehyo.

"Goddamn it..." Jaehyo mumbled.

"Let's go then, Yeseul." he said shooting his smileat me. He might as well have shot me dead.

"O-okay." I said and stood up. He opened the door for me, letting me walk through.

"Thank you." I said, smiling at him. I loved gentleman acts so much, I couldn't help but smile.

"No problem." he smiled back.

"You didn't have to walk me across the hall though..." I said.

"Nope, Yunhee said to never let you roam around at night."

"Okay, well my room's right here." I said and put the key in my door. I opened it to enter.

"Thank you for walking me." I said.

"Alright, sleep well Yeseul! If you have a nightmare, you can just call me over." he said and closed the door for me.

"I could barely knock on your door, how do you expect me to call you over?" I asked to the air. I let a breath out and just walked to my bed in the clothes I wore all day. Just this once, I didn't care. My body just told me to sleep, and without hesitation, I obeyed.
