The truth

I stood outside the building while looking at all of the things that screamed 'We are rich people'

There is no way in hell that I'm going to let Hae and Hwa become spoiled rich brats. Ever, if I fail to do that then I don't deserve to be called their 'mother' (they’re only two years old but they probably think of me as their mother since I'm the only one who’s ever really taken care of them...)

"Madame, lets enter" the representative said as he opened the door and helped me carry Hae and Hwa.

My mouth seemed to touch the ground, I must say, I am completely amazed.

"My heavens child come in come in" an old lady said as she tugged me inside the mansion

I immediately bowed to her

"You're Min Ji right?" She asked

"Dae" I replied being as polite as possible. I hate rich people but I can't hate old people.

"Take a seat my dear"

"Dae" I said doing as she instructed

"Aigoo they are so cute! Do you mind if I call them my grandchildren?"

"Aniayo, I would never mind" I smiled. Her face lot up with happiness and excitement

"Oh my look at me here, you must be tired." She said

"Jisung take show to her room" she ordered

I wasn't all that tired, but the kids certainly were

"We'll talk later, right now you should rest"

"Dae Kamsamnida" I bowed

The man she ordered came to us. We went up a bunch of stairs and showed me the room and quickly left

It was 6 in the morning and I wanted to sleep, I let jet lag get to me.

I woke up around 11 and found Hae and Hwa missing.

I ran out of the room i was in and began running down the stairs

"Ya! Be careful!" someone said

Too late. I had already tripped

Damn these socks

I was waiting for the crash yet it never came

"Aish I told you to be careful" a voice said

I peeked slowly to see where I was and why I hadn't fallen

I was in the arms of some guy...

"Dugusaeyo" both of us said at the same time

He helped me back into place

"You can go first" he said

"Ah Nae. Nan Lee Min Ji imnida"

"Lee Sungmin imnida" he said

A Lee? Is he my husband?

Suddenly I heard Hae and Hwa's voices

"Excuse me" I said running down the stairs

When I carefully reached the bottom I saw that Hae was crying and Hwa was playing with a blond haired guy. I ran to them to calm Hae down.

I immediately picked up Hae and she stopped crying. She's always been like this, Hae doesn't like strangers while Hwa is completely okay with them

"What the..." the guy whispered and continued playing with Hwa

"... I'm in someone else's house so I shouldn't be asking this but dugusaeyo?" I politely asked

"Chonun? Ah! Lee Hyuk Jae imnida y.." he got cut off

"Omona you’re up already? Let's get you dressed up and let's go" the old lady said

"Eoddie" I asked her

"To pick out your wedding dress and everything."

"But..."

"Oh that's right I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. You should know who your going to get married to" Halmoni said

"Nae"

(We were already sitting on the sofa, well I was standing)

"Sit down, let's talk about important stuff" Haraboji Said in a serious tone

"N... Nae" I stuttered. I looked at Hae and Hwa signaling them to be quiet.

"Shh" I quietly said as I looked at both of them. They stared back at me with innocent twinning eyes.

"Hyukjae" Haraboji said

Blondie- I mean Hyukjae nodded

"Anyoughasaeyo" he said standing up and bowing

I stood up and bowed back "anyoughasaeyo" I said back

"Lee Hyuk Jae imnida, your fiancé" he said

My eyes widened

"Nae. Nan lee min Ji imnida"

"Sit down you two" Halmoni said motioning us to sit down with her hand

"as you know he's your husband, I told you that we were going to pick a wedding date after you woke up but were limited to three dates thanks to his busy schedules" Halmoni said

"Nae"

"So the first would be tomorrow, the second would be Thursday and the third is Friday" Haraboji said

"Your choice" Halmoni smiled

"I think tomorrow is a hit to early... Is Thursday acceptable? Since Hyuk Jae shii is busy all the other days he would he tired getting married on one day and the next say going straight to work " I asked

They smiled

"Aigoo she's so caring." Halmoni said

"She’s exactly like her mother" Haraboji added

I smiled at Haraboji's comment

"Kamsamnida" I said bowing my head down

"Eunhyuk we have to go now. Palli palli" another blond haired guy came in and said

"Excuse me" Hyuk Jae said

Eunhyuk? I thought his name was Hyuk Jae... nickname maybe

They left the room along with Haraboji

"Tomorrow let's go shopping for your wedding dress. Hyuk isn't all that busy tomorrow so he can show up for that and the ring" Halmoni squealed excitedly

"Nae" I smiled

"Oh and buy the way Hyuk doesn't live with us so sadly neither will you. He lives with 14 others in an even bigger mansion" she said hoping I would accept

"Ah Chongmal? Okay" I replied kindly

"Aigoo Thankfully it worked out well, everyone was afraid you would reject uri Hyuk." she said

"Nae?" I asked her confused

"Ah i see your mother hadn't told you. Actually you and Hyuk had been engaged before both of you were born. Actually, your mothers parents and my husband knew each other and well let's just day that they indebted to him since he helped them out with a sticky situation. Anyways even though he didn't want anything in return they l decided that if they ever had a child they would marry him/her to our children. Unfortunately both sides had girls so now it's been passed down to you and Hyuk" she explained

"Don’t worry. Hyuk willingly agreed to this. You did too right?" she asked

"Nae" I said

She left me with Hae and Hwa in the living room when a maid came in and said "they have arrived"

"Min Ji ah, these are Hyuk parents" Halmoni said

"Anyoughasaeyo nan lee min Ji imnida" I said bowing immediately

They both nodded their heads and sat down

"We picked out Thursday as their wedding date" Halmoni said

"Ah Kure" the woman said

"Okay then, when are you going to pick the dress" the man in a suit asked

"Tomorrow, along with Hyuk, the ring will also be picked out tomorrow" Halmoni said

Just them Hwa started crying

"Jisonghaeyo" I bowed and picked Hwa up.

He's probably hungry by now; I took out a bottle from the side of my bag (It was just there I had no time to question why)

I quickly fed him and he quietly drank his milk why staring at me right in the eye, never looking away.

I could sense that Hae was getting hungry too since she was stating at the bottle I was using to feed Hwa.

"Hae are you hungry?"

Hey round chocolate eyes looked at me now.

I took out some baby food since these two weren't two, but a year and 10 months old. They were still considered two or three. In Korean years three....

I fed Hae as Hwa held on to his bottle constantly looking at me.

"Are they your children?" the lady asked

"We’re not blood related" I said

"Then why aren't they with their real mother"

"their mother died shortly after giving birth, my mother and their mother were sisters so my mother took the responsibility of raising them but she died shortly after, so it became my responsibility" I explained

"Ahh Kure?"

"Nae" I nodded happily

It was night time and I was preparing to go to bed

"Hae Hwa" I said as I tucked them in bed

"Umma sowie dime sowie dime" Hae said with her eyes twinkling like the stars

"Story time?" I asked

"Naeeee!!" they both yelled excited

"Ha-ha okay okay I didn’t get to bring books so I'll tell you a story that I heard from someone"

"Once upon a time, there was a cat that had a lot of secrets; she never ever shared any of her secrets with anyone. She always always always wrote in her little cat diary. Her friend’s, dog and mouse, wanted to know her secrets but cat would never tell them."

"Wat did dog and mouse do?"

"You’ll find out soon"

"One day cat left her diary outside and mouse found it"

"Oh my gawd wat did cat do!" Hae said making a shocked face (A/n imagine the kid from home alone)

“The cat didn’t know, because she was sleeping”

“Wat waz in da dialy?” Hwa asked

“Do you really want to know?” I asked

“NAEEE” they both said with overflowing aegyo

“It was….. Oh Dog and Mouse are telling me not to tell you”

They pouted “Waeeee” Hwa said “Doe!!” Hae asked

“Because you have to be cats best friends to be able to see the secrets”

“How do I become cat’s best friend?”

“You have to prove that you’re a cat”

“HOOWWW”

“First you have to meow like a cat”

“Meoooooow” they both said

“Then you have to stretch like a cat”

They both started stretching

“Finally you have to do one thing that cats do most”

“What what what?” Hwa asked excitedly

“You have to take a nap”

“But”

“you don’t have to, but Dog and Mouse won’t let me tell you Cat’s secrets”

They quickly squeezed their eyes shut

Before long they were asleep and I lay next to them. I closed my eyes and I saw a really dark color. It was the darkest shade of purple

‘Today is probably the darkest shade of purple I’ve ever encountered in my life. It’s worse than yesterday.’

‘Why didn’t she tell me any of this before she left? I wasn’t a child when she passed away. I was 23 years old. Why did I have to get married now? Why couldn’t it have been later?’ I thought

I sighed ‘as long as Hae and Hwa are safe I’ll be okay’ I thought
