Author's POV

How in the world do things get more awkward than this? It's the two of them yet all they've done is walk down the streets in silence. Awkward silence 

What should I do? Should we go to a cafe? Is she hungry? Is she tired? Oh my god she's tired isn't she? Eunhyuk Panicked  

"D-do you want to go to a c-cafe!?" he said quickly as he stuttered 

Aish why did I stutter? He mentally smacked himself for the stupid move 

"Cafe? Sure" Minji agreed 

Why is he so stiff? She questioned 

They found a cure cafe and ordered a strawberry short cake (for Hyuk) and chocolate chip cookies (for Minji) and coffee. When the waitress came back with their food, both of them seemed lost, well let's just say that Minji was in chocolate heaven and Eunhyuk was in strawberry heaven. Both of them ate quietly yet happily 

"You must really like strawberries" Minji giggled 

"Mhmm" Eunhyuk smiled childishly 

They ate quietly and had small awkward chats, it wasn't until they actually left the cafe and went to just do window shopping and roaming the lovely city of Tokyo that they finally felt comfortable around one another. Without either of them knowing, they had begun building a bond, starting out as friends. Time had passed and it was already time to go back to the arranged meeting place.

One by one the couples gathered, and the last person to arrive was Donghae, Shindong remembered his date with Nari so he left Donghae on his own. Donghae had both Hwa and Hae dressed up in the cutest one piece fish outfit. It was completely adorable and irresistible. Donghae and Hae had become attached while Hwa wanted to meet his appa as soon as he saw him.

“Did you guys notice how similar their names are to Donghae?” Ryeowook asked

“I understand Sunghae and Donghae but not Sunghwa”

“Ya! Wookie” Donghae pouted “My Hyung, DongHwa”

“Oh I get it now” Ryeowook laughed

They headed towards the restaurant which was not too far from where they were, it was just a five minute walk. They entered the restaurant and were walking to one of the bigger tables.

“Minji?” A very familiar voice called out

“A-appa?” She turned around, her eyes clearly expressing how shocked she was

“Minji” He smiled as he walked over to the large group

“I see you’ve made friends”

“I see you’ve made money”

“Why so rude”

“Oh just because I’m a little you go around using, send off and what not. It’s nothing of your concern. Really.” Minji deadpanned

Sheesh all I wanted to do was meet Kame! I will never come back to Japan again; this place is like a freaking curse on me! First the fans, then the company and now my so called father; I was just want to stab him. I am so pissed, I mean sure, I like Hyuk and all but seriously? What if the guy he sent me off to, was an abusive good for nothing, low life? Huh? Would he abandon me? And even if I did ever get over that, he didn’t even bother attending my wedding! And he was the one who told me “Minji, when you get older, appa will watch you get married” He lied to me; he’s always lied to me. He wouldn’t have gotten that of a wife and sent me off to some place I didn’t know, into some home I’ve never been to, marry someone else when I loved another. He ruined it; he ruined the small bit of happiness I found after mom died. He doesn’t deserve to be called my father, just like he deserted me, I’ll desert him

“Well, I hope you have a happy married life with your new wife”

“You too, since you two are newlyweds.” He smiled. Why is he smiling? What’s making him so happy? Not that I can’t stand his happiness but why? He told me he wouldn’t be able to smile again for as long as he lived, if mom wasn’t around!

She ended up walking away from him, not even bowing in respect. Minji its okay, just endure if for three weeks and you’ll leave this place completely

During the entire meal, the only one who didn’t speak was Minji; she was so quiet the entire time, Eunhyuk got worried. Hwa and Hae were acting super adorable in their fish outfits but it was as if it wasn't enough to make Minji forget the way her father abandoned me into the hands of someone else. 

Eunhyuk and Minji entered their room, carefully undressing the kids and laying in bed.

Today was just too long for my liking. Eunhyuk turned out the lights and lay beside her, feeling awkward but softens up when he hears soft sniffs

Is she crying? Oh my Shisus she’s uncomfortable isn’t she? What should I do? Should I leave?

It’s okay Minji, everything was just a lie, just like it’s always been, its okay. She tried to comfort herself

But the truth obviously hurt. She had only one person left in her family and she was technically sold off by him. Her mother, whom she loved dearly, had passed away, she was torn away from her previous lover and now she’s married and forced to love someone she barely knows. Her own father hadn’t even attended his only daughter’s marriage even when he promised to do so.

She let more tears run escape her eyes

Why do I keep crying? I don’t need him in my life, he’s always made things worse, he’s never there for me when I need him, and he’s abandoned me. God I feel so betrayed. Why is it that the ones that I love so dearly, always leave me?

She let out more tears and soft hiccups, and gasped when she felt a pair of warm arms hug her. Why does it feel so comfortable in his embrace? Why does it feel… so right?

“Things definitely are not okay” he said “but it’s okay to cry your heart out today, it’s okay to cry” Eunhyuk comforted her, patting her back every so often mumbling soft things and nothing but the feeling of comfort and security

It’s always “Don’t cry, it’ll be okay” and what not, those kinds of comforts are the worst. It’s not okay, it’s never okay, I’m not okay, and I’m never okay. I’ve been insecure ever since mom died and I use the kids as a way to his my insecurities! I can’t help but melt into his arms. “It’s not okay” He said, making me feel as if he understands me. Not even Kame could do this, Thank you Eunhyuk. I’m glad it was you whom I got married to.

Unconsciously they had held one another in a tight and innocent embrace.

Everything will be okay, as long as you stay by my side. I’ll protect you forever. I know, Minji, your heart wont accept me right away but sooner or later it will. One day we’ll live happily as a married couple, watching our children play in our garden. Omo just thinking about it makes me blush. As of now, I’ll be your hero and I’ll stay by your side even when you don’t need me. I’ll be waiting for you, with open arms and an open heart. Lee Minji I’ll make you fall in love with me slowly! Eunhyuk blushed at his own thoughts but then with determined eyes, he makes up his mind and falls asleep

Tomorrow will be the start of something new.
