Chapter 01

            Lee Soojin smoothly punched in the code to Jaejoong's office. She was sensitive to every movement around her. She tensed her open ears and sensed a motion at 6 o' clock. She lightly sniffed and sighed, knowing that smell that engulfed her senses. "Minho, if you continue using that same perfume, I wouldn't be surprised if your enemies ever follow you here." She smirked to herself; her back still facing her partner.

            "I can care less. I bet they're not even half as good as you." He made his way to her. He placed his arms on the metal doors, trapping her between the portal and his body. "One more thing, I don't use any perfume. That's my natural masculine scent. You should know that, Soojin-ah,” he whispered in a deep husky voice.

            She softly gasped at the sudden closeness between them. He had been doing it a lot of times. Strangely enough, she was still not used to it. She playfully elbowed his stomach. "Masculine scent, my !" She placed her thumb over the fingerprint sensor and faced towards the laser scanner. Just the same Jaejoong, too engrossed to security equipments and the like. She walked to the black-themed office with Minho trailing lazy steps behind her.

            There were no greetings exchanged between them. Jaejoong was good enough to be aware of the two’s presence. Minho sat down and took the hidden shotgun under the chair’s armrest. He pointed it at the odd things around the office, pretending to shoot and smiling whenever Soojin’s forehead would crease, showing how serious she is in reading.

            Jaejoong faked a dry cough, earning questioning stares from the dozed off secret agents. Minho straightened out himself after stealing a glance at Soojin. The only lady in the room leaned on the book shelves’ corner. One of her eyebrows was raised and her arms were crossed in front of her chest. Agent J stood up and hardly placed his hands over the papers on top of his black sleek table. “For this quarter, I decided to break your duo.” Soojin dropped her arms as she looked at Minho who turned out to be as disappointed as her. She noticed his slouched shoulders and suddenly grim effluvia. “I want to give Soojin her first solo project. As for Minho, I will be sending him to Paris to be trained on Computer Technology and Hacking Strategies,” the eldest of them continued. “I know this is abrupt but Mujeong’s project is very important and it would also be the best opportunity for Minho to be sent abroad.”

            “Okay then,” Soojin shortly said, standing straight and fixing herself. It was something usual from her, cold and distant. She was trying her hardest to not protest, it was Jaejoong’s order. In brief, it was irrevocable.

Minho gave a deep sigh. He knew this was coming to them. It’s just that he didn’t expect it to be that fast. “Minho, what do you think about it?” Jaejoong snapped him out of his dispirited thoughts. He simply nodded; a silent sign of disagreement from him.

Jaejoong and Soojin raised their brows at the tall guy. They were taken aback by his quietude. Minho was known to be respectful towards the older man. Jaejoong decided to let him pass for once. “Alright then, you are dismissed.” He sat back down. He turned to Soojin, “I got you four fake passports for your next mission, I placed them at your table. We will discuss your mission later after the leaders’ conference.”

Soojin took two strides and noticed Minho’s stillness. She lightly tapped on his shoulder and motioned him to follow her. The guy still sad, stood up and gave Jaejoong a small bow before completely walking out of the said room.
