-No One's POV-

2 months passed and Tiffany was still dating Siwon. Taeyeon was able to keep it within herself, though she cried almost every night. Tiffany noticed her crying a few times, but Taeyeon refused to tell her the reason. It was almost time for the prom. Unfortunately for Taeyeon, Siwon's marks improved greatly and he transferred to the first class, and instead one of her classmates when to the second class. Like always, she was the top student in her level while this time, Sunny was second, Tiffany was third, Jessica was fourth and Sungmin was fifth. In Junsu's level, he was first, followed by Yunho, then Ryeowook and Leeteuk.

-Taeyeon's POV-

First again. So what, first on a result list.

Not first on Tiffany's heart.

Prom is coming, but of course, I won't go. 

Why should I go and get hurt?

Unless someone asks me... then I won't have a choice.

Please, don't ask me.

Seeing them everyday, and now even having to see them in class.

What could be worse then that? 

Wait, No. Usually, when we say that, something worse will indeed happen.

"Taetae! I'm third! I got higher than Sica! It's all thanks to your tuition!"

"Great, I'm happy for you. Siwon must be proud too..."

"Yeah! He was! He embraced me when he found out."

Of course, he has the privilage to do that... 

If she knew about how he was in the past, will she still be with him?

If she knew about my feelings for her, will she be with me?

"Fany, I'm going back to the dorm." I told her as I ran back to the dorm and went into my room.

 

Hah! Done!

All done in an hour.

But Fany hasn't came back yet?

Oh well, at least I can show Sunny.

[ Taeyeon> Soonkyu ! Come over and see a song that I wrote!]

[ Sunny> Sheesh, Finez. Why're you so excited?]

[ Taeyeon> Cause I wrote a song!]

I heard a knock on the door and opened it.

I handed her the paper, "Read this!"

After reading the whole thing, Sunny had a contented smile.

"Wow. Not bad, Danshin. Not bad at all. I never knew you had this kind of skill."

"Yah!"

"Who does the lyrics refer to?"

"Her."

"Thought so. See, there are good sides of getting hurt."

"How the hell did you come up with that?"

"Well, you get good inspiration for writing songs." she joked.

"Not Funny."

"Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade."

"You didn't. Actually, you made it even better!" I replied.

"What the?"

"Joking."

"So, you going to show this to her?"

"Yeah... I guess so?"

Just then, the door opened.

"Taetae!"

"Seriously, what took you so long to come back?"

"Siwon oppa."

"Ahh... like always."

Promises are like rules.

You have to follow them once you promise a person.

Of course, people would also say Promises are meant to be broken like how they say Rules are meant to be broken.

But I can never take broken promises.

You said you'll make time for hanging out with me, Sunny and Jessica. But nowadays, most of the time, you're with Siwon.

When you come home, you're too tired to go out anymore.

"Say, want to go eat dinner together?" Sunny asked.

"Sorry, I'm just very tired."

I sighed.

"Nevermind then, Sunny, let's go. Is Sica asleep?"

"Nope. She's doing her homework."

"Seriously, I can't believe you beat Sica..."

"Hah! The studying two months ago helped!"

"Yeah."

"Let's go."

We walked to Sica's room and asked her to go and eat with us. She said she didn't want to, but me and Sunny dragged her down.

-Tiffany's POV-

Today was so fun! I didn't think he'd bring me to Lotte World to celebrate.

But something seems off with Taetae recently...

I felt something vibrating on my lap.

[ Siwon> Hey Miyoungie. Want go eat dinner?]

[ Tiffany> I'm tired, but with you, OKAY!]

[ Siwon> Privilages of being the boyfriend. XD] 

I walked down and saw Taetae, Sunny and Jessica eating pizza.

I looked around for Siwon when I felt a pair of hands hugging me.

"Oppa! Don't sneak up on me like that!"

"Sorry, Miyoung. I just couldn't resist my girlfriend."

I giggled.

-Taeyeon's POV-

"Yah, Taengoo! Isn't that Tiffany?" Jessica pointed towards the garden direction.

"Yeah... it is."

Tired? That explains why you're out with Siwon.

If you didn't want to come with us, just say so. No need to make up an excuse that you're tired.

"Taeng..." Sunny noticed my sad expression.

"I'm fine..."

Maybe I should just give up.

Give up on her.

Give up on life.

None of the above gave me anything good.

They only gave me hurt.

"Oh right! Sica, I wrote a song already!" I showed her the song.

"Not bad, Taengoo. It's a great song. And of course, you'll be able to sing it greatly!"

"Thanks, Sica."

"Taeng! Want to go to prom with me?" Sunny suddenly asked.

"You're not going with Sungmin?" 

"He doesn't want to go. He hates prom. It's too crowded for him. Can you go with me?"

I looked at Tiffany and Siwon.

"Sunny, I..."

"I'll make sure we get as far away as possible from them. PLEASE!" she gave me her "pout" face.

"Fine."

"Yay!"

When I saw them hugging, my heart sank.

"I'm going back first."

"Okay."

I walked back to the dorm and wrote random stuff on a piece of paper.

When Tiffany came back, she came into my room.

"Where were you?"

"I went to the library to return my books."

"Liar." I muttered.

"Huh?"

"Liar." I repeared, significantly louder this time.

"Liar?"

"I know where you went."

"Yeah, I went to the library."

"I'm not an idiot. You can't and shouldn't lie to me."

"What? I really was at the library."

"Before that?"

"Here."

"Stop lying already, Fany. Stop."

"You know where I went?"

"I DO. I KNOW WHERE YOU WENT OKAY?! Tired? Is that why you went with Siwon to eat dinner instead of us?"

"Taetae, I didn't mean to..."

"You didn't mean to lie?"

"Taetae, I'm sorry."

"You should only be sorry for breaking a promise you made me."

"What promise?"

"You don't even remember it. I thought you were different... obviously not. How could I... Nevermind. Bye."

I was walking out when she held onto my wrist.

"Taetae, please don't leave. I'm sorry. Please... don't leave. It hurts me."

"So? I've been hurt so many times I can't count."

"Please, Taetae. If it's the promise about hanging out with you guys, I really am tired."

"You didn't go to dinner with us but you went with him."

"Sorry, Taetae. It's just, he's my boyfriend and all..."

"ENOUGH. Enough, Fany. I don't want to hear it anymore. I don't want to hear the word boyfriend anymore."

"You say that but what about me? I know you and Junsu used to date. Why did you lie to me?"

"Because I didn't want you to get the wrong idea. I don't love him anymore. I love someone else."

"Why would I get the wrong idea? You could've just told me."

"I know. I'm sorry for that. I know I shouldn't have lied to you but... I just... couldn't tell you. I didn't know if I could trust you. You don't know my history. I may seem cheerful and everything, but I trust not many people."

"Taetae, what's bothering you nowadays? Why are you always in deep thought?"

"Because I'm hurt. I can't confess to the person I love. I'm afraid that we might become strangers because it's wrong to love that person. That person is already attached."

"Who is it?"

"I can't tell you."

"Why?"

"I just can't."

"Fine. Let's forget this argument." 

"Yeah."

"Sorry, Taetae." she hugged me.

It felt warm. The hug felt warm.

Only 4 people hugged me like that before.

Jessica, Sunny, Yuri and my mom. Now Tiffany's included.

"Fany... if someone confesses to you know, what would your reaction be?"

"I'm dating Siwon oppa, so of course I'll reject them."

"Even if it leaves a scar on their heart forever?"

"I guess so... but I'll be guilty. Why?"

"Just asking."

"How about you?"

"What?"

"What if someone confesses to you now?"

"It depends... maybe if I feel the same way for the person, I'll accept?"

"If it's not the person you love?"

"I'll reject."

"I'm curious as to who this person is. Who could possibly capture this Dorky Kim Taeyeon's heart?"

"No idea how that happened. It's the person I least expected I'll actually LOVE. I expected liking her--" I covered my mouth after realizing I slipped the gender.

But she didn't seem to notice.

"What did you say?"

"I didn't expect to like the person."

"What's the gender?"

"Up to you to guess."

"Hmph. Is is that girl in the cafe with you that day?"

"No."

"I think it's a girl..."

"Alright then. Think its a girl..."

"But then again."

"Enough, Fany. Enough. You can continue guessing tomorrow. Oh! and read this." I handed her the paper I wrote on.

"Fine, Taetae. Good night,"

"Good night."

-Tiffany's POV-

At least we got over that argument.

But what's this paper anyway?

I read the whole thing.

Is this the song she was supposed to write?

'Your heart may look away from me'... this is how I feel about you two months ago Taetae. 

But now, I think I'm really in love with Siwon oppa.

Just being around him makes me happy.

But I feel bad for Taetae.

I think that's for the person she loves.

Who could she possibly love?

Cause I love the both of you.

-No One's POV-

Prom night...

-Taeyeon's POV-

I was talking with Sunny but occasionally glanced at Tiffany and Siwon.

Of course, my heart hurt.

It'll never go away.

I saw them hugging and left.

I went to the rooftop and looked at the moon.

Eventually, Sunny came to find me.

"Taengoo, I'm sorry I asked you to come with me."

"I see that everyday anyway..."

"Taeyeon ah."

"I should give up, shouldn't I?"

-Tiffany's POV-

"Sica! Where did Taetae go?"

"Sunny went to find her. I think she'll probably be at the rooftop."

"Thanks, Sica." 

I ran to the rooftop and the door was ajar, thankfully.

A few times she locked it.

I was about to open the door when I overheard their conversation.

"I can't get over her, Sunny. I can't."

"Taengoo, you said that about Junsu but you eventually got over him."

"She' different. Tiffany is different."

Tiffany? Me?

I'm the one she loves?

ME?!

Is that why she?

I don't get it.

She's been loving me?

I'm the one in the song she wrote?

I ran back to the dorm, still confused.

She loves me?

"Fany. I'm back."

"Who is it that you love?"

"I told you I can't tell you."

"Why? Is it regarding me?"

"W-What? W-Why are you asking that?"

"It's me isn't it?"

"W-What? Psh. Why would it be you?"

"Taetae. IS. IT. ME?"

She sighed.

"I knew I could never keep this... Yes. I love you, Tiffany."

"Taetae, why?"

"I don't know. You know, but please don't treat me like a stranger. Tiffany, I can't do it."

"Sorry, Taetae."

-Taeyeon's POV-

I regret. I regret admitting.

"Sorry, Taetae. I just can't." she apologized as she started walking away.

I grabbed her wrist.

"Please, don't go." I pleaded.

"Sorry, Taetae."

She yanked my arm away as I cried.

"If you love me, leave. Stay away from my life."

Leave? You expect me to leave?

Well, I don't mind. It'll cut down my suffering anyway.

That night, I called my dad.

"Appa, you wanted me to study in Soshi Girl's School right?"

"Yes, Taeyeon."

"Can I transfer there tomorrow?"

"Why?"

"My grades really are dropping."

"Alright. I call them to inform them. Pack your luggages."

"I know, Appa. Thanks."

"No problem, anything for my little girl."

"I'm not a little girl!"

"Just joking with you, Taeyeon."

I packed my bags and the next morning, I transferred to Soshi Girl's School.

-Tiffany's POV-

Why did I reject you?

Do you know how badly I wanted you to be in my arms?

I should apologize... I didn't mean that.

But Siwon oppa...

I don't know.

I went to Taetae's room and found a note.

The bed was nicely made and there were nothing in the closets.

Did she actually leave?

I found a note on the table:

Fany, I know you told me to leave. I knew this could happen if I confessed.

Only Sunny and Jessica knew what I was feeling.

But one question did pop up in my mind: How did you know?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you don't want to read anymore of this since you want to forget that I exist but

It's not your fault I left. I had other reasons. My grades were dropping really badly too.

I know you probably hate me(?) but please help me with something.

Please pass the other two letters below this one to Sunny and Jessica.

The blue and icy one for Jessica and the bright and yellow one for Sunny.

I just want to say this once more: I love you, Tiffany Hwang Miyoung.

Tears were flowing endlessly from my eyes.

She left? She said it's not my fault...

Taetae... why?

I looked at the letters and gave them to Jessica and Sunny and told them that she left.

Sunny abruptly shut me up and left.

Sica too was angry at me.

-Sunny's POV-

Taengoo, why did you leave?

I looked at my letter once more:

Soonkyu yah! Sorry, I left. Well, it kinda is because of my grades.

Well, I hope to hear from Shinyoung unnie that you're the best in our level soon.

Help me tell Sungmin good luck too!

Regarding my leaving, don't blame Tiffany.

It has nothing to do with her. 

I left for two other reasons: 

My grades are really really falling.

Well, I can't stand getting hurt anymore.

Don't worry. If I don't like it there I might just come back.

Oh, can you sing my song instead?

Hah, since you and Sica are my best friends I expect you guys to know which school I would hide in right? XD

-Jessica's POV-

Aish, fool. Just leaving without a word.

I didn't bother reading mine, since I knew all I would get is emotional.

Even then, how could Tiffany do that to Taeyeon?

She herself said that she might love Taeyeon.

But seriously, ask her to leave? REALLY?

Okay, it's definitely her fault.

Just then, someone came into my room.

"Sunny? What's up?"

"Taeng told me since I'm we're her best friends, she expects us to know which school she might go to."

"Hmm... Let's see. Her dad always wanted her to go to Soshi Girl's School. So maybe we should check there?"

"Right!"

"Don't bring her."

"Of course. It'll make Taeng feel worse."

"Yeah."

Another knock on my door.

"Sica, please bring Taetae back. I didn't literally mean it last nigh--"

"Why can't you bring her back? Uh? You were the one who told her to leave."

"I couldn't tell her about my feelings either okay? I can't hurt Siwon oppa."

"So you can hurt Taeyeon? What kind of logic is that?"

"I dont... I never... I never thought about that."

"You don't know how much she was suffering." Sunny suddenly cut in, "For the past two months, having to see you and Siwon together. You wanted to know the reason she was crying right? You. The answer is you. You are the reason why she cries everynight."

"I'm the reason she cries everynight? What the hell have I done?"

"To summarize, hurt her, told her to leave, reject her and loved her." I said as a matter-of-factly.

"Wait what? Fany loved Taengoo?" Sunny asked.

"Yeah, I kinda did. But I thought Taetae was just an infatuation but now... she's more important to me than anything." she said as she glanced at her phone.

-Tiffany's POV-

[ Siwon> Miyoungie! Want to go catch a movie?]

[ Tiffany> Sorry, I'm busy.]

[ Siwon> Not even enough time for me?]

[ Tiffany> I'm really busy.]

[ Siwon> Fine. Bye! Love you.]

I have no idea how to reply.

I don't... I don't think I love him.

I thought Taetae was an infatuation and I really loved Siwon oppa but it seems to be just opposite.

It seems that I love Taetae and just had an infatuation with Siwon.

I pushed her away.

How could I hurt her like that?

Because of me, she left.

Because of me, she was hurting so badly.

Because of me, her grades went down.

Because of me, she hurt herself so badly once.

Come to think of it, she was always the one protecting me.

It wasn't Siwon oppa who protected me from those gangsters.

It wasn't him who helped me with my maths.

It wasn't him who helped me whenever I had problems.

I just wasn't him.

He wasn't there when I needed him the most.

It was Taetae.

Maybe breaking up with him may be the best thing.

I walked to his dorm and opened the door, since it was unlocked.

-Siwon's POV-

Ugh, did hyung have to come back so early? Oh well, let's continue.

I made out with a girl from my previous class, Jihyun.

But the door opened and I saw Tiffany.

"Fany! This isn't... this isn't what it seems!"

"No? No? Who cares? It doesn't hurt anyway. I came here to break up with you."

"What? NO. You can't."

"Why not?"

"Cause you love me. You can't."

"Who ever said I love you? I was confused. I thought I did but... the person that I really love has left. So, I don't really care anymore."

She was becoming colder and colder by the minute.

"What the hell happened?"

"None of your business." she slammed the door and walked away.

-Tiffany's POV-

I knew this would happen again yet I'm not affected.

Why? Is it because I really love Taetae?

Why did she have to leave?

Why did I tell her to leave?

Why... why did she love me?
