Chapter 5- The Fire Angel's Confusing Story (Part 1)

******

(Sooyoung POV)

"And then she ruined my suit that I saved up all my money on!" A young man yelled. "Ack! Woman these days are so clumsy!"

"Clumsy? Women are clumsy? Excuse me sir but you shouldn't act like a ist pig! Everyone is clumsy! But you men are stinking liars!" The blonde lady next to me stood up with an angry expression on her face, following with other women on her side.

"WHAT?! YAH! NO WONDER YOU NEED AN ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASS!" The same man from earlier stood up from his plastic chair, along with other men who were uprooting with him like wild gorillas on a rampage.

As both of the opposite es fought each other with their noisy commotions, I was the only one who was still seated, sighing at this pathetic class I had to take.

What a mess, these humans... The heck, this is what the human's problems are now? Don't tell me I actually get mad like them...

Ever since I yelled at that vixen long ago, my boss made me sign up for this stupid class or else I had to lose my high-restaurant waitress job. From working in a swanky restaurant, it paid a good apartment room and a suitable amount of food for me. This anger management class however follows the same routine I always follow.

1) Listen to the human's annoying complaints
2) Tell them about my "anger problems"
3) Class dismissed when everyone is done confessing.

"Shut up everyone!" The beefy man roared, casing everyone to stop their hollering and snapped their hot-heads to his attention.

"Let's get this over with huh? I hate it when there are some people who would waste the time longer to the point that is going to kill everyone!"

The people muttered but they eventually sat back down in their seats, giving each other the glare especially the man and the woman from earlier. The beefy man grunted and sat back down with his huge weight, gesturing me to talk.

"Hello everyone. My name is Choi Sooyoung."

"Hi Sooyoung." They all nonchalantly replied.

"And what can I say?" I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. "The customers at the restaurants that I am working at are becoming really rude these days."

"How rude?" The old lady next to me asked. "I hate rude people! Especially the bratty kids these days..." She spitted behind her fake teeth.

"It's this woman, and boy is she so spoiled!" I scoffed at the memory of that aristocrat. "She practically made me fetch her new versions of her dish at least-"

♫Lucky I’m in love~ with my best friend ♫

My cell-phone buzzed in my pocket, drawing interests from others of my ringtone. I blinked my eyes at the unexpected call but in my mind, I was thanking it will all my heart, hoping that this will cure my headache from these rowdy people. With a blank expression, I fished out my ringing cell-phone from my pocket and tapped my finger on the screen. "Hello? Sooyoung here."

"Aish this girl..." The old lady gave me a glare. "So rude, she won't even excuse herself."

While the other humans started to heat up their new conversation about me, I pressed up my ear closely to the screen, ignoring the angry people. "Um Hello? Is anyone there-?"

"SOOYOUNG UNNIE!" A loud familiar voice screamed in my ear. I flinched and pull the phone away from my ear, patting my injured ear from the sonic attack. Oh great... It's that nature angel.

"YAH! WHO YELLS AT THEIR CELL-PHONE LIKE A FREAKING BOOM BOX?" I snapped my voice back at the phone, reeling my phone to my ear again.

"SOOYOUNG? SOOYOUNG? ARE YOU INSIDE OF THIS CELLPHONE? WHY CAN I HEAR YOU SO WELL? THIS LITTLE PIECE OF METAL-"

I groaned loudly at Yoona's bellowing, covering my ear while she continues to bicker through the phone, where almost everyone in the room can hear her.

"Sooyoung! You are so rude to let your friend yell through the phone where it could hurt my old ears!" The old lady complained, raising her cane up at me. "What a bratty woman..."

"LOOK M'AM!" I retorted, using the full volume of my voice at the lady. "My friend has never used a cell-phone or any technology before so she is amazingly dumb and confused at everything!"

"You see!" The same man stood up again. "Women are big klutz! They are even bigger idiots than I thought!"

"Excuse me!" The woman yelled back, pushing the man's chest with her surprising strength. "I thought we were doing with this conversation you dirty ist pig!"

"HELLO? HELLO? SOOYOUNG? WHERE'S YOUR VOICE?"

Ugh! That's it! I'm going to get out of here today!

Still holding onto the bickering cellphone in one hand, I grabbed my handbag off to the side of my plastic chair and walked to the nearest exit, leaving the chaotic mob in an uproar as I slammed the wooden door back, silencing their loud fiery yelling.

"Yoona!" I yelled back at the phone, but not as loud as her. "You can talk at this volume you know? I can still hear you fine."

"Oh!" The nature angel on the line suddenly hushed down her tone. "Like this?" She whispered; I could hear her fine but she doesn’t need to be so quiet if she’s at some public library or something.

Hmm better than yelling like a fire alarm. "Like that Yoona. Good job." I sighed.

“I’m so glad you received my calling unnie!” Yoona says. “Do you know how long it took me to press magic thin buttons on this cell-phone and to find you? This is amazing! How does this all work?” She exclaimed.

I palmed myself in the face. Wow… She’s seriously acting like a toddler when it comes to technology. Especially if everyone at her age uses technology at every single second of their life.

"Ugh you nature angels… I’ll teach you later about using your cell-phone.” I walked towards the bus stop in front of the school I had to attend for my anger management class. “Why did you call me?"

"Umm..." Yoona stuttered. "I-I don't know what to do next. Yuri accepted my request-"

"Wait? Who's Yuri?" I asked.

"She's the owner of the floral shop." She replied. "But once she accepted my request, she said I have to start working tomorrow."

"So?"

"So what should I do now? I don’t know what to do! And reading more information from our guidebook seriously gives me a headache!”

I chuckled at her frustration, imagining her yelling nonsense things in my ear out in the streets where people are giving her peculiar looks. “Yoona… Seriously, this whole Watcher thing, one tip from the sunbae, don’t stress about this “eternal punishment. Just relax on Earth and you will be fine. ”

“How can I?!” Yoona brought up her voice louder. “If only this place don’t smell like rotten acid from the bottom of god knows what, I can’t believe I was sent here out of all places!”

The nature girl continued her complaining about how “crappy” Earth is and how she was almost about to die from all the Taxis and the black volcanic stone path. I rolled my eyes at her whining. To be honest, I don’t care how much she hates this place. Right now, I was thinking and planning hard.

“Do you have a place to stay?”

“What?” My question caught her off-guard. “A place to sleep you mean? I was about to sleep in a forest nearby the restaurant we ate earlier that at least look decent enough-“

“No!” I snapped back. “You idiot! That’s a park! Do you know how dangerous it is to sleep alone at a dark forest?!”

“Jinja?! It’s dangerous to even sleep at a p-p-a-rk?”

“You know what?!” I opened my mouth wide as more annoyance seeps in my mind but with all of my will, I closed my mouth. “Ugh, never mind, I’ll bring you to my place. You are by the park right?” I said more politely, shutting off my scolding, watching the squeaky old blue bus full of tired-eyed workers inside stopping in front of me at the bus stop at late night.

“Yes.”

“Okay.” I said. I walked inside of the bus and swiped my bus card on the scanner and took my place in the front seat, fortunately, this bus wasn’t so crowded. “I’ll come and get you so we can both go to my apartment. It’s close to the restaurant so it shouldn’t be too far.”

“But I don’t want to be away from the trees-“

“YOONA-YAH! JUST WAIT THERE AND I’LL GIVE YOU A NICE PLACE TO STAY! TAKE THIS OPPURTUNITY BECAUSE YOU ARE REALLY DUMB AT THIS STUFF YOU KNOW? DID YOU NOT TAKE ANY LESSONS ABOUT EARTH AT ALL?!”

“But-“

”Later! 끊어! (kkeunh-eo! Hang up!)” I clicked the red button on my screen and pushed it back in my pocket. I muttered at the stubbornness of the girl and looked around blindly, only to find humans staring at me with their fish-eyed faces.

“Well? What are you looking at?” I growled. “Go back to sleep and I promised that I’ll be quiet!”

The citizens on the bus shifted their eyes quickly away from my hot-tempered face, going back to their cell-phones or their little nap while I scoffed in annoyance. Jesus, it’s not like I’m the only woman on the bus who bickers and nags like a girl so hopelessly in love.

The old bus stopped at the nearest bus stop near the restaurant, “Pear Trees”. I quickly walked out of the bus and fast walked towards the place of greenery, grabbing onto my handbag tighter as I prayed that the nature angel wouldn’t do anything too crazy.

“Yoona?” I called out her name as I finally reached the park. “Yoona? Come out if you can hear Sooyoung’s voice.”

"Yoona?" I repeated her name.

“Sooyoung?” Green leaves rustled above me. “I’m up here!”

I followed the younger girl’s voice, shrieking in shock when I saw her beaming face looking at me up high in the oak tree. “YAH! What are you doing up here?! At late night too?”

She frowned. “Well, I needed a place to find out a way to call you from my cell-phone. I was getting too tired on working on the cell-phone for an hour.” She swings her long legs around from the sturdy tree branch like a little kid. “Look unnie! It can play cool sounds from my cell-phone! Watch!”  She pointed at her smartphone and clicked random buttons on the screen. Yoona bobbed her head and laughed at some of the different versions of a ringing bell while I stood there, glaring at her without a care.

“Just get down here will you?” I pointed at the ground next to me, frustrated. Pouting, she kicks her feet down, her white dress flies and her brown hair soars in the air as she lands gently on the pavement like a graceful cat from a great height.

“Now follow me!” I barked, turning my back around to start walking towards my apartment. Yoona nodded and trotted along her legs with me, trying to keep up with my fast walking.

“Umm unnie? What’s a c-c-oun-n-try-s-ide?”

“What?”

“Look here!” I pointed at the pad lock key on my door. “This is how you get inside of your apartment. Watch.”

She nodded as she gathers more information in her mind while I tapped my fingers on the number buttons quickly, knowing the old code that I remembered for at least 3 years. After inputting the code, the machine ringed with a cheery melodic sound that fascinated Yoona for some reason. I unlocked my door and kicked off my shoes lazily, bumping against the white wall. Yoona, who followed behind, took off her shoes too but placed them neatly at one corner.

“So, this is called a living room, where you will be staying at.” I dropped off my handbag on the other side of my black couch. “And this couch will be your bed.”

“C-C-ou-ch?”

“Try it.” I patted on the cushiony furniture. “It’s actually really comfortable.”

Yoona looked hesitant at first but slowly took an approach at my furniture. I chuckled at her interesting way of learning things when she plopped herself on my couch, shifting her body on it in several of positions as she test the cushions.

“Oh? I’m just asking, but are you hungry?” I asked when I walked over to my fairly small but comfortable kitchen.

“YES PLEASE!” Yoona shouted from my living room.

“Wow, nobody gets hungry at this late at night.” I exclaimed as I opened my cupboards, looking for any food. “I guess I found another shikshin.”

“Sh-h-ik-s-hin? What is that?”

“Food Goddess. It means you like to eat a lot of food.” I replied back casually. “Now where are my late-night snacks?”

After searching around tirelessly in my kitchen for food, I found nothing, only a gallon of milk and two eggs in my lonely fridge.

“Dang it.” I mumbled, holding my stomach that was making low grumbles. “I guess I have to go to a supermarket.”

“Hey Yoona.” I yelled when I fetched my handbag off the ground. “I’m going out to buy some snacks for us. Stay here in this room and do not touch anything! Understood?”

“Ne unnie!” Yoona nodded and continued playing with the couch. “Whee! This couch is so much fun!” That choding was bouncing up and down on the cushions, acting like a pre-teen girl in her first slumber party.

“You choding…”  I said, rolling my eyes at her enthusiasm. I closed the door behind me, not knowing the mischievous look on the younger girl’s face.
