“I think you should enlarge that one and hang it on your wall, Pumpkin.” Miyoung stands by her toes to sneak on the photograph that her taller dongsaeng currently holds in front of her. “This apartment looks so lonely that I get depressing every time I visit.” She shakes her head in distaste when she does another round of spectacles upon the almost all white walls of the new apartment.
Joohyun lifted her eyes from the photograph in front of her and smiled to the older. “But I like it that way, Unnie. It gives me a calm feeling, like I can drown myself into the deep sea of the white walls whenever I feel tired.” Then she laughs when her Unnie throws an exasperated look at her and shrugs the shoulders in disbelief when the older heard her statement.
“You make it even more depressing, Hyunnie.” Miyoung is starting to lecture her again when the older phone is ringing. Joohyun watches with warm feeling when her sister’s eyes are lifted with the smile that only will be there when a certain someone, her husband, is around. “Oppa! Yeah, I am in Hyunnie’s. What? No, of course not! I am not bugging her. What? I can’t hear you. Wait, I move to the balcony now.”
Joohyun smiles and nodded to her Unnie who is signaling with her head that she will move to have better connection for her call. She continues to watch Miyoung for a while, mesmerizes by the way her Unnie bounces herself with such ingenuous attitude. Sometimes she wonders if they are exchanged on the birth order, since Miyoung is two years older than her but when they are together people would easily think that Joohyun is the older one instead.
She shakes her head and smiles a little when she remembers how that used to annoy her to the max when they were little, but lately she finds it is relieving because after all what those special silly aegyo that Miyoung has only for her is the only thing she holds dearly when all of her heartbreak and past mistake come back to haunt her.
And she actually agreed with her sister that the photograph may be a good addition to the sea of white that dominating her lodge. Maybe she will call Sooyeon and asks her if the magazine can print a full-body size of the picture for her.
