Present Day, 2018

“Earth to Sehun…” Jongin waves his hand in front of a static best friend but the said man is spacing out completely that day.

“Oh Sehun!!!” Impatient with the blank response, Jongin flicks the side of Sehun’s forehead.

“Aish! What are you? Six?” Sehun brushes his abused forehead and glares at his best friend who is only shrugged and throws his back on the chair.

“No, but I also not a street passer who would stay here forever talking with a wall.”

Sehun understands that he must be missing on his own world again. Just like the old days, he said at heart when he remembers those days that his closest friends called him the  4D maknae as he was the youngest among the band of brothers although Jongin is only few months older (and few year younger mental ages – he added silently).

“Sorry.” He apologized. “ I have a lot of things in my mind”

“Office related?”

If there is something that never changes on their friendship then it will be the honesty between them, so Sehun shakes his head and while looking outside the café to clear his mind, he replies.

“I just found out that she’s back in town.” He sighs deeply.

Jongin, out of habit, is prepared to tease Sehun when a ‘she’ is being mentioned since everybody in town knows that the latter is one of the most eligible bachelors in Korea (just like Jongin supposed to, but not since he is completely taken, although the woman that steals his heart is not talking to him at this moment).

But then he remembered who he was meeting three days ago when he visited Soojung’s apartment, ready to talk out the sense of the only person he loves, and was greeted by a surprise guest instead.

“Uh, she….”

Sehun turns his head towards his best friend and suspiciously stares at the slightly older boy. “You already know that she’s back?”

Jongin’s cheeks are reddened as he gives up his cue. “Sorry Hunnie…..”

Sehun closes his eyes. Is he the last person to know? “Since when?”

“Just three days ago, I saw her in Soojung’s.”

“You visited Soojung?”

Jongin smiles when he hears the concern in his friend’s voice. This was why when he had problem with Soojung in the past, he would come to Sehun first even if he would punch Jongin hard on the nose for hurting his precious dongsaeng.

“Yeah.”

“Good.” Sehun smiles at him. “At least you both have started to talk. It’s not like…” he trails his sentences.

Jongin pats him on the back.
