If his eyes don’t sting and the inside of his mouth doesn’t hurt from the bite of his teeth, Luhan might not think it is reality he’s in. For countless times he has imagined this happening. At times he would be submerged so deep in that when he came back up everything seemed lost.

“Of course,” difficult as it may be, Luhan chokes out the words from the back of his throat. “Of course I do.”

Through sight blurry with tears the brown of Yifan’s hair smudges into his face. Luhan can only see what should be the white of his teeth, and it’s sufficient, his smile is visible; as clear as it can be because the image is easily in the back of his mind.

He stammers into Yifan’s shirt, “We’re both idiots,” voice hitching when he clutches on the fabric hard as if trying to meld with the skin underneath.

Yifan holds him just as tight, hands spreading warmth across the width of his back.

“Yeah. Yeah we are,” he says.

Somewhere above them, a click of finger resounds and tweaks a warp in time.

The heat from Yifan’s body is replaced by chilling breeze and Luhan jerks a step back. His surroundings have transformed into tall buildings and roads instead of the living room in his house; his stomach drops in realization that he’s back to the present. But he’s not inside the wedding hall.

“You okay? Why do you suddenly stop walking?” asks a voice from behind and Luhan almost falls down from spinning too hard to fling himself into Yifan’s arms.

“I love you,” Luhan half yelps half gibbers, “I love you I love you I love you.”

He apprehensively pulls back and sees Yifan – hands encircling his waist – looking highly amused, and plows back into the crook of his neck. He’s rewarded with a of the hair.

“I love you too.”

“Ew you guys, spare me please.”

Yifan’s throat reverberates when he laughs. Luhan peeks up to see their friends walking near.

“Zitao’s just jealous because he’s single,” taunts Minseok; he then brings up his arm to coil around Zitao’s shoulder – who rolls his eyes and sighs.

Behind them Luhan can see Yixing winking at him. He winks back, closes his eyes and leans his weight onto Yifan as each second slowly fills the gaps in his memory. When all of them has settled back Luhan peels himself off of Yifan and in his vision Chen is smiling at him, a genuine smile with no trace of mockery or superiority. Luhan mouths a thank you and lets his eyes linger at the empty spot where the fairy was standing just a moment ago.

“Is there something bothering you?”

Yifan whispers in his ear, he’s looking at him with such care Luhan has to in his breath to alleviate the pressure in his chest.

“Nothing. I’m just really very happy, I’m too happy. I love you.” the last words he utters into Yifan’s lips, pressing softly and savouring the taste it imprints on his own.

“What the-Dude, I even said please! Stop rubbing it in my face will you?”

So we have reached the end (￣(ｴ)￣)
