Chapter 6

"Why do you love photography?"

"Wae?"

"Just curious"

"The satisfaction from a good shot. And getting to see the world in a different way 
through the lens. Most importantly, it allows me to capture and preserve the most 
precious moments in life"

"It must feel great… I wish I could experience it for myself too"

Ji Eun often wondered what was it that drew Young Saeng to spend a bulk of 
his free time traveling around places every week with his camera and heavy equipment. 

Not that she minded it, but she wished she could be a better companion who could 
really share his interest and joy. Instead of just depending on him to tell her about 
what was going on.

"Don't lose hope, I'll be your mentor when the time comes"

"De, make sure you keep your promise"

It had been a while since he excused himself to the washroom and there was still 
no sign of him. She grew more anxious as time passed and was about to leave her 
seat to attempt to locate him when someone tapped her on the shoulder.

"Ji Eun shi? Young Saeng hyung had something urgent to attend to and he 
sent me to pick you up"

"Oh… you are?"

"Kyu Jong"

Young Saeng gave Ji Eun a call later that night to apologize for leaving her alone so 
abruptly, and promised to make up to her another day. But it continued to happen 
so often that she began to worry.

"Oppa, are you hiding something from me?"

"Wae? Aniyo it's just… my dad's health is deteriorating and the workload's 
getting heavier"

"Is he fine?"

"De, I'll be handling more of his work for the time being. Miane, I won't be able 
to spend time with you…"

"It's ok, just make sure you take care of yourself too and don't get push 
yourself too hard"

Ji Eun held her breath as the doctor removed the first layer of bandage over her eyes. 

Today was the day she would finally see the world again, after receiving a cornea transplant.

Blinking her eyes as she looked around the ward, the first people she saw were 
her parents and the doctor, and this other guy who gave her a warm smile the 
moment their vision met.

"Appa, omma…" 

And she couldn't help but notice that they had aged quite a bit.

"Kyu oppa?"

Kyu Jong nodded his head and gave her a hug as he saw tears forming in her eyes. 

It was ironic how she was now seeing the best friend instead of him.
They had parted ways when things took a turn for the worst after he got too 
busy with work, just two months short of their second year together.

Young Saeng practically disappeared after their breakup and Ji Eun heard 
nothing about him after that.

To be exact, the last she heard was that he had gotten married. 
To someone else instead. 

And Kyu Jong had been her pillar of support ever since, taking Young Saeng's 
place of caring for her.

"Yah Lee Ji Eun, are you going to show up late on your first day of work?"

"Five more minutes? Ahhh! Ok I'm getting up! Stop tickling me!"

Ji Eun poked Kyu Jong in the stomach as she got off the bed and headed to the 
bathroom to wash up. 

She never expected the boss to turn up personally at her place to pick her up for 
work on her first day. 

After a few months of learning and adapting to everything again, she was finally 
going to begin work as Kyu Jong's personal assistant.

Kyu Jong deliberately looked at his watch as she made her way out of the 
bathroom and crossed his arms as she rummaged through her wardrobe.

"Are you going to stay here while I change?"

"I wouldn't mind"

"I think you should get out before I sue you for harassment"

"You can try"

"Yah! I don't want to be late on my first day of work!"
