Chapter 15

Standing outside the door of the ward, Kyu Jong hesitated for several minutes 
before finally making his way in with Ji Eun.

Ji Eun bowed upon seeing an old lady, whom she presumed was Kyu Jong's mum, 
walking towards them. She looked slightly agitated, and Ji Eun was half expecting 
her to give him a scolding, but the old lady hugged him tightly instead.

"I thought you've forgotten about us…"

"Eomeoni…mianhae"

"Has it been difficult?"

"Everything's fine. Eomeoni, this is Ji Eun. She has been taking good care of me…"

"Annyeonghasaeyo Ahjumeonim…"

Ji Eun's nervousness eased as Kyu Jong's mum gave her a smile and led the 
both of them to take a seat since his dad was asleep. 

Kyu Jong's mood dampened as his mum update him about his dad's condition. 
The had a major impact and it would take months to recover now that he 
was partially paralyzed and had difficulty speaking.

"Kyu Jong ah, will you come back to the company?"

At a loss over his mum's question, Kyu Jong turned to look at Ji Eun, who without 
a thought gave him a nod. 

"I'll be fine managing the business"

"But..."

"Kwenchana, don't worry about me..."

She knew exactly what he was worrying about. 

That they'd both have to spend extra hours at work; him on the family business, 
and her on his business which had just begun to pick up. And the possibility of his 
dad objecting to their relationship once he gets better. But all these didn't matter 
to her, they had an agreement after all, that no matter what happened at least 
they stood by each other.

"Mianhae"

Kyu Jong finally spoke up after they left the hospital. 
He didn't know what else to say to Ji Eun, except that he was sorry she 
had to endure so much more than she should have.

"Oppa, you really don't have to apologize"

"Promise me something…"

"What is it?"

"Marry me, after all these is over…"
