Kai’s POV
I am hopeless. I am so stupid. I didn’t get to confess to her, if it wasn’t for Luhan… Aish! But I am not sure myself. Does she love me back? Maybe not? Maybe it’s for the best? Maybe she was going to say “no”. I am quite curious. I want to know her answer. Maybe it’s time for me to stop for a while. Maybe I should give it a rest. And when it’s the right time, I will confess to her about my feelings. Ugh… But my conscience keep bugging me. Aish! Maybe? Maybe not? Who knows? Alright! Starting from today, I will not get all lovey dovey in front of her. I’ll wait for her reaction. If she can’t resist this side of me, then I’ll know her answer. Love me or not, I will continue to love you.
Hyerin’s POV
What was he going to say? His question keeps haunting me down. Did he say something important? Or just some of his bulls again? Jonginie! What were you going to say? Even if he said “I love you”, I wouldn’t know what to answer. My heart is currently hanging on to two cliffs. It’s still wondering who will fall to? Is it going to fall on the cliff with yellow flowers? Or the blue ones? Everything is too complicated for me. I can’t decide who I like. Is it Luhan? Or is it Jongin?
I heard a knock on the door. Since then, I get nervous when I hear a knock on the door. It might be Luhan or Jongin pulling me out of my house again. I opened the door nervously and it was mum. I sighed in relief. Thank God it wasn’t one of those idiots!
“Eh? What’s wrong with you Hyerinah?” My mum asked while patting my pale face.
“Nothing!” I said quickly and I ran to the kitchen. “Why is Hyesun not back yet?” I asked mum.
“I don’t know with that girl. The last time I saw her was yesterday. She was wearing weird clothes” My mum said as she threw her bag at the old black couch.
Hmm… Where is Hyesun-ah?
Hyesun’s POV
My fingers are trembling. It’s 7pm. I hope nothing goes wrong anymore. Sehun said to me that I can wear anything I want. But since her mother criticized my clothing. I changed into a rather formal wear. We went inside the expensive restaurant again. This time, her mother was just with Miyeul. She was really pretty compared to me. I felt small every time I see her. I wonder why Sehun doesn’t like her… She looks perfect. She doesn’t look hateable at all. Crazy Sehun. But I’m glad I’m doing this.
“Sit” Her mother ordered us politely. I guess the witch changed?
“Omma…” Sehun suddenly spat out those words as he hold her mother’s hands.
“Wae?” Her mum asked.
“I just wanted to say sorry” He said as he smiled.
“Sorry? That’s the first time I hear you say sorry to me” Her mother said sarcastically. I guess they were really not in good terms…
Miyeul coughed intentionally to get my attention.
“Hi, my name is Miyeul” She said in soft voice. She looks like an angel and sound like one. I never knew there are such humans…
“Uh… My name is Hyesun” I bowed and shook her hand. How can Sehun not like this girl? She looks harmless.
“So your name was Hyesun? Call me Seyoung” Her mother said and shook my hand.
“Ah… Nae… Seyoung ssi” I smiled shyly and bit my lip.
“Why did you take Miyeul with you?” Sehun asked coldly while looking at the doll-faced girl with an annoyed eyes.
“Why? Do I not have the rights to take her with me?” Her mother asked as she raised her brows.
“Psh…” Sehun said loudly.
We were ordering food already. I have no idea what to eat. The menu was full of western food.
“Ahem” Sehun caught my attention and gestured me to pick the spaghetti.
“I’ll have the spaghetti” I said to the waiter.
A few minutes later, the food we ordered was put on the table nicely. Now, how do you eat spaghetti? If they only had chopsticks.
I ate the darn thing messily. I had no idea how to eat it. Her mother looked at me in revulsion.
Miyeul chuckled. “This is how you eat it okay? Step one grab some of th…”
“Shut up” Sehun said coldly to her.
“Wae? I am just helping her” She said innocently.
“She’s not that dumb you know” He glared at her and gave me my fork back.
We ate silently until the very last string of spaghetti that I was slurping had flown away to her mum’s glamorous dress.
“Mianhe!” I stood up and bowed.
Everyone started laughing at me with my sudden action.
Her mother just glared at me. It was as cold as Sehun’s. My heart started beating fast and I shrunk down my chair in embarrassment.
“Stay here nae? I’ll just take mum to the toilet to clean this” Sehun said as she escorted her mother to the toilet.
It was just me and Miyeul. I became much more nervous. Her aura became different. She looked at me harshly. Where is the angel Miyeul?!
“You don’t fit in their family” She crossed her arms as she looked at me with disgust.
“Wa… Wae? Wae?” I said in such shock. Why would she say such things?
“You don’t know how to wear clothes, you aren’t even confident and you messily eat your food. I saw what I need to see already” She smirked and she gave me a y look. Psh, …
“You better stop now. I will have Sehun” She said. Was that threat?
I gulped. “Aniyo, he’ll never love you” I said in a more y tone. “Look missy, you think your attitude will pass him?” I pointed at her chest violently.
“Pardon?!” She said in such shock. She didn’t know that was coming. She stood up and walked out of the door.
Sehun and her mother came back to the table.
“Where is Miyeul ssi?” Her mother asked.
“She just randomly walked off” I pointed out to the door. I blinked at Sehun. I gestured so he would know I’m lying.
After a little talk. Her mother bid goodbye and we were left alone.
“So what happened?” He said in enthusiastically.
I told him what happened. He was laughing the whole time and he was staring at me with such amusement.
“That’s right, keep it up. If she insults you, say something to her back” He said while pouting.
“We should go” I said as I stood up.
“You wanna go somewhere?” He asked. It was getting late though.
We went to the same park just to stroll around.
“I’m sorry I had to drag you with my problems” I said as he held on to my hand while putting it in his pocket.
“It’s okay” I smiled and I started feeling something in his pocket. A ring? A ring for what?
“Take it” He said.
“Mwo?” I pulled out my hand.
“You don’t want it?” He asked as he took it out from his pocket. “Wear it, just until Miyeul goes away from my life”. Even though it was fake. It felt real.
Sehun’s POV
Even though we’re pretending. It felt real. I feel good holding her hand. It was a bad move though. I was going to propose to her in real soon but she suddenly spat out “Mwo”. My confidence tore down in pieces. I just told her it was pretend. Now I’m gonna live my whole life being her pretend boyfriend! Ughh… Wrong move. I put the ring gently on her finger and while I was doing it, she was turning bright red. Does she like me back as well? Who knows? I’ll just enjoy this moment.
Hyerin’s POV
I can’t sleep. I don’t know what to do. I opened the window and saw nothing. No sign of Jongin. Why am I searching for him? Sheesh… I can’t believe he’s not stalking me today. This night is different. Why can’t I feel his presence? Why is my heart searching for him? Toss and turn, toss and turn. I can’t sleep. THAT’S IT! I sat on the chair and started drawing. I was just randomly scribbling things from my heart. I was shocked when I saw my piece of art work. Why did I draw Jongin?! I crumpled the paper and threw it in my bin. Nobody needs to see it. 10pm. I want to sleep early today but my brain doesn’t want to… I hate you insomnia…
Another knock at the door. My mum opened it and was surprised. I was just peeking by my room. My mum hugged him. Even my mum recognised the guy. Why didn’t I?
“It’s been a long time Luhan!” She patted Luhan’s shoulder. “What brings you here?” My mum asked.
“Is Hyerin here?” He asked as he scanned his eyes throughout the whole house.
“She’s in her room. I think she’s….”
“I’m awake!” I said as I came out of my room.
“Why are you here?” I asked.
“I just felt like visiting” He smiled. He was holding two boxes of what I believe fried chicken. I had to chuckle. I remembered that time when we use to fight for the last piece.
“I never knew you were back to Korea” My mum said as she took a bite from the chicken.
“Ah. Nae. Actually I just arrived last week” He smiled at my mum.
“Oh. I see” They kept mumbling stuffs out. I didn’t care to listen anymore. Our hands touched as we both tried to take the last piece.
“You guys look perfect as a couple!” My mum said as she did a love heart with her hand.
“Omma!” I screamed in embarrassment.
Luhan was smiling while she said those words.
“Here you go” He put the last piece of chicken in my mouth.
After him and my mum stopped talking about stuffs my mum gestured me she’s going to sleep. She went to her room quickly.
“Entertain the guest well nae?” My mum said as after she squealed for the last time. My mum is weird.
Mwo? So now she’s leaving me alone. My forever crazy mother.
I didn’t know how to bring out a topic. So I randomly said to him.
“Sing” I said to him. I am just curious about his voice.
“Sing? Right now?” He said as his eyes widen.
“Wae? You don’t want to?” I asked.
“Fine” He sighed and he reach out to hold my hands.
“Wae?” I asked as I awkwardly pulled my hand away.
“Aish, the song would not be perfect without a hand though” He wiggled his fingers.
“Okay, here, here, make it quick” I took his hands and began to listen. It was a Chinese song. I didn’t know what it meant. But I only knew one thing. I was smiling like an idiot as a watch him sing. He looks like an angel and sings like one too.
“To me you are more dazzling than an angel,
If anyone is unjust to you,
I will definitely not allow it.”
I felt drowsiness through his song. It was as if, he was singing my favourite lullaby when I was little. My ears wanted more. His voice kept making love with my ears until my nervous system started going weaker and weaker. I fell asleep.
Luhan’s POV
He made me sing and I made her sleep. I was laughing at her for falling asleep in my shoulder. She was still the girl I loved. Those big baby eyes. Her perfect slim lips. Nothing changed. I’m not sure if she changed. I hope not.
The way she looked at me when I was singing. I felt special. It felt special than receiving cheers from thousands of fans. I felt so good finding her and seeing her again. I really love her. Deep down inside, she is still the one I love. Nothing changed.
I felt something weird though. I feel like there is something going on with them and Kai. This can’t be. She still loves me like before right? Kim Hyerin… Nothing changed.
