Dressing Room
An Unexpected Reunion
"Umm--,"
"Hey, Kyary! Who's this stud?" my friend interrupted. I could clearly tell that she had drank just a bit.
He beamed charmingly at her. "Hi. I'm Kevin." I couldn't help but pause after he had said that. I spaced off as he and Min Young continued to converse. I couldn't place my finger on this feeling that I had in my chest. He kept pausing between the chat to exchange looks with me. He looked hurt and I felt myself starting to feel the same.

After scrubbing my face to get rid of all that make-up, I found myself staring in the mirror. 'Your face has changed a lot...' Kevin had said and it was as if he had known me growing up.
I lingered off into my bedroom and heard a thump from my closet. I investigated the scene and noticed that a old box had fallen off its shelf. I moved it to my bed and began to look at the contents inside. I paused after seeing an lump of cream cloth stuffed near the top. I picked it up and examined it, finding a long, pretty scarf that I had received in my younger days.
My mouth lay agape and my eyes widened. "This!" I fell to the floor, my hands breaking my fall. I trembled as images flashed in my mind. I remembered a boy giving this to me for Christmas. He had laughed at me for not owning one in the cold weather. I racked my brains all night to remember that face, but it seemed so hazy. As if something had controlled me, I brought the scarf up to my face and sniffed it. I dropped the scarf, realizing just who exactly that boy was.
Kevin Woo, my childhood friend that of which I loved.
Once I had fully registered just who that boy actually was, I made a mad dash for my phone. I abruptly called Min Young and brought up the subject of Kevin, asking her if she had figured out what he was doing lately these days.
"He told me about being in this band of some sort... U-Kiss, I think," she replied to my constant questions.
Oh yeah. I began to recall the incident at his house just before he left. I had cried for weeks after that... How could I ever forget someone as important as him?
"Yeah! He even gave me his number, too, along with a backstage pass to one of their concerts coming up! I think that he has a thing for me~," she cooed, feeling full of herself.
I found myself chuckling at this, despite the seriousness of the situation. ""Has a thing for you'?"
She giggled too. "You saw how he was looking at me! I've seen those lustful eyes too many times. Oh, he told me to bring you along to the concert if you wanted to go also."
I pretended to ponder over the offer for a moment. "Okay, why not?" My voice was full of disinterest, when in reality, I was rather eager.
"Come over around 8 tomorrow, then."
All day at work the next day, I kept on peeking at my watch. I'd finally be able to have a conversation with him again. I spun around in my office chair violently, feeling giddy. So much for working overtime today.
As soon as the hour hand hit the six, I bolted out the door.
I started up my car's engine, and eventually saw Min Young's house come into view. Soon after, she got into the car, and off we went to the stadium that U-Kiss was performing at.

"AHHH! ELI, ELI, LOOK OVER HERE!" shouted a group of girls to my right.
My ears hurt so much, and it wasn't because of the songs that they sang, it was because of the fangirls. God, there were so many people here.
They were currently performing some sort of song where they said 'never land' many times. I guess that's what it's called. They looked so exhausted, considering their faces were covered with sweat. The dance look so complex, but at the same time cool, too.
Kevin seemed to just shine on the stage...Was he really the same Kevin from back in school? Did I just find the wrong person, or something? They literally all looked like princes up there.
Suddenly, the song slowed down and a boy started rapping. He was doing pretty well, actually. How should I put it? He looked devious, yet cute. A man soon after followed the rap after him. He seemed really muscular and charming. All of these guys were giving it their hardest and the song that they were singing sounded rather catchy, as well.
Before I had even noticed, the men bowed and exited the stage. Min Young pulled me away from the crowd and started walking somewhere. I guess that we were going backstage now? My chest suddenly started thumping. Was I nervous?
We arrived at a door labeled 'Group Room'. I took a deep breath in as Min Young tugged me inside.
Oh god.
"OMO!" I yelped.
I felt blood rush to my cheeks when I came face-to-face with Kevin. He was currently pulling his shirt off and stopped at his neck to let out a high-pitched shriek.
I immediately turned around and yelled, "You didn't tell me that this was their changing room, too!" I slapped at Min Young's arm, making her whine in pain. The event replayed in my mind... That was Kevin, for sure.
After he got fully dressed, he told us that he was done, and ushered us to some chairs.
I kept on wondering about his chest... "I thought that he was going to get that mole removed," I wondered aloud. Crap, did I really just say that? Really?! He must think that I'm some sort of freak, now. I bowed my head down in shame and muttered a brief, "Sorry."
"Your face has changed, but your personality sure hasn't," Kevin chuckled out.
"Wait," Min Young paused, "you two know each other?"
I guess that I never really did tell her about us being friends. I remained quiet and let Kevin explain to her about our past, curious to hear what he had to say.
Kevin just merely shrugged. "We've been friends pretty much since grade school." I rubbed my head. "It was a funny first meeting..."
Before Kevin went into any more detail, I raised my hand to stop him. "Stop, don't go any further." I laughed to let him know I wasn't irritated or anything.
Suddenly, a young boy with straight, jet black hair popped up next to Kevin. "Ooh~! Who are these cuties?" he sang. After he spoke, I quickly realized that he was that adorable boy rapping earlier on the stage. Kevin seemed a little surprised, but then laughed. "Dongho--this is Kyary," he gestured a finger over to me. "This is her friend, Min Young," he copied the previous action that before to me.
"Ahh, I thought that I caught a glimpse of you in the crowd." He flashed a flirtatious grin.
My throat constricted a little and I felt my cheeks warm. I couldn't help but look away, his cuteness was suffocating. Kevin scoffed, clearly jealous. I smiled slightly, enjoying this a little. Min Young seemed to be rather bored, because she shifted in her seat.
"Hey, Kyary, you should go to this party at the club tonight. It's to celebrate another perfect concert." After thinking for a moment I shrugged. "Alright."
He playfully clapped his hands together. "Good!"
I couldn't help but catch an eye roll from Kevin and I just smirked.
"Have you met the other members yet, Noona?" Dongho questioned, cocking his head to the side. God, he was cute.
"No," I admitted as he grabbed Min Young and I and pulled us over to a door on the side.
I literally felt like I was about to faint when suddenly my vision was bombarded by shirtless men. Oh, god. This seemed to never end. Min Young and I quickly looked away. A gorgeous thin boy with raven hair walked up to me and patted my head mischeviously. "What's a couple of sweet girls doing here spying on us?"
Dongho shook his head lightly. "Nah, I brought them over here. It's all good." A rather built guy came over. He had an intimidating look to his face, but gave a warm smile. "You friends with Dongho?"
"We just met. We are here because of Kevin. Kyary and him are great friends," Min Young said before I even inhaled. Something tells me she really digs this dude. "Oh Kevin...Where is that boy?" The raven-haired boy looked around. "He's sulking in the other room," Dongho said with a smirk.
Kevin's always been like that. I chuckled to myself. He was always pouting, or throwing a fit, whenever he didn't get something that he wanted.
The intimidating-looking guy muttered out, "I see how this is." He then proceeded to fetch Kevin and bring him back. Abruptly, he grabbed my hand and placed it on Kevin's forehead. "Haha! Kev--you're looking a little red~," he cooed.
His cheeks flushed pink. "Seriously, Soohyun?!"
Soohyun put on a smug expression. "Yep." He ran away as Kevin chased him.
I was too busy watching Soohyun and Kevin run about the room to notice the whole group of U-KISS surrounding Min Young and I, them pratically shirtless.
The rather built rapper was first to approach. "I'm Eli," he proclaimed, giving us a wink. The man with raven-like hair came up to his next. "Kiseop! Lee Kiseop!" Another guy who seemed to be another rapper tapped at my shoulder. His caramel-brown hair was cool and flipped up. "I'm AJ. Oh, and this is Hoon." He grabbed the guy next to him, and he gave a beam.
All of them were so handsome and cute... Why aren't there any boys like this in America?
