« I’ll ensure you don’t ignore me anymore”

These words were playing in her head like a tape put on repeat mode. By chance, their conversation had been interrupted by Sora’s phone which had started to ring. It was her friend who was asking her to replace her at the nightclub’s bar once again. And for once, she was happy to receive a phone call. Without wasting any time she had taken her stuff and ran away like a rocket, leaving Kris with a smile on his face. He had a long way to go if he wanted to impress her.

She left the work at the bar at 3AM. No need to say that she was worn out and especially because she had to be at school early in the morning to clean the practice rooms before the students start arriving. On her way home she was already thinking about her warm bed but once she got under her blankets she couldn’t help thinking about Kris. Why on earth did he have to come in her head? Finally, she fell asleep only at 6AM. But as professional as she was, she went to work anyway. After greeting the teachers, she went to her locker to pick up the stuff she needed to work. But instead of finding her gloves and cloths, she found ballet slippers and a record of admission to school with a scholarship offer. For a surprise, it was a surprise. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. But she came back to earth and realized that there was no reason for her to be chosen to integrate the school. Someone had found out how much she wanted to integrate this school and decided to make fun of her.

She grabbed the shoes and the contract and threw them into the nearest trash can. She couldn’t believe someone could be that mean. Finally she found her cleaning stuff at the concierge’s room and did what she went there to do: cleaning.

12:00 lunch time. As usual Sora went to the rooftop to eat her meal, away from the noise, away from the others. She found her bubble, her own universe; where she could let her feelings come out. As she was feeling anger and despair, tears started falling from her eyes.

“Stop crying. You aren’t allowed to cry for this.” She said to herself but tears just couldn’t stop flowing.

She cried a few minutes then she noticed her sandwich was drenched by her tears.

“Paboya. You just succeeded in wasting a sandwich.” She yelled at herself.

But she wasn’t as alone as she thought.

“Do you always talk to yourself like that?”

She turned even if she already recognized that teasing and scornful voice. She couldn’t stop thinking about it last night.

She was embarrassed as her eyes were still wet but there was no way she would show it to him. He was already scornful enough. She heavily sighed, whispering “aish” between her lips. But Kris did like he didn’t notice and sat beside her, taking a mouthful of her sandwich.

“Make yourself at home!” she yelled with a shocked expression turning towards him.

“That’s exactly what I’m doing as you can see.”

She really wanted to hit him, but she couldn’t. He was one of the students and she would immediately be fired.

“You didn’t come to dance’s class this morning. You’re such a naughty girl. The teacher was upset.”

“What are you talking about? I’m not a student of this school.”

“Are you going to eat this?” showing her sandwich. But he snatched it from her hands even before she had the time to answer.

“Didn’t you find your shoes and your admission contract in your locker this morning?” he added the mouth full.

She couldn’t believe he was a son of a rich family. He was really lacking manners and the way he eats was disgusting.

“How do you know about that? So you are the one who did that joke to me? You must be so bored to do such stupid things”

Why did it not surprise her? He was totally the kind of guy to do such miserable things. But strangely, she had hoped that it didn’t come from him. But he was faithful to himself and his reputation.

“Which joke? I’m telling you your name was on the call list this morning. I said some nice words to the director about you. You’re now a student of this school. No need to thank me.”

And he goes back to eating his sandwich.

She was speechless. Thank him? What had he done? And why?
