sm entertainment announced earlier this year that they are planning to
debut a new girlgroup. there were already several videos released, about sme's
newest trainees, preparing to debut. similar to the previous M1 and M2, sm's male
trainees, now debuted as exo-k and exo-m, the new girlgroup will have  similar
strong vocals and talented dancers. Y1 is, judging from the leaked practice videos,
a group consisting of seven members.
