The Seven Districts of Netherion

Capital

Deimos

                The name literally translates to 'dread', although no one knows why it was named so. It is the capital of Netherion and the center of the web of kingdoms. It is also the home of the Caomhnoirs and the Weir Argentum. Everything about the whole of Netherion is stored within the walls of this fortress, although nobody is really allowed to read the scriptures except the magistrates, or in rare occasions, the Weir Argentum.

                The Weir rarely leaves his or her tower in the capital except during times of great need.

                It had tall spire-like buildings made of glass and stone. It would seem that they would knock over from strong winds, but are resilient against it. The main castle was named the Castle of Thane, from the Weir Argentum that had it built. It has dark emerald spires that look almost black except when light strikes it. Another castle is the unnamed tower of the Weir Argentum, in which the seven Caomhnoirs also reside. It is simpler in architecture, made of dark obsidian and onyx instead of emerald.

Northern District

Argentum

                It is the Norhtern capital located deep within the massive forest that covered the northern part of Netherion(also the name of the race). The land in which Argentum was built was formerly all but barren and uninhabitable, but according to legend, the guardian of the gates allowed the passage of a form of magic that allowed for the conversion of the land. It caused the colossal size of the forest –named Lucian by the Argentus, which also served as the defense of the city, as each turn presents some kind of trap. The forest itself was said to have designed itself into a maze-like architecture, almost unnatural in perfection. There is only one safe way in and out of the capital, and it is closely guarded by the royal guards of Argentum.

                The people are called Dein Argentus, which, in Ancient Netherion, literally translates to Children of Silver. The Argentus are believed to be the people from which the Weir Argentum was born into(thus, the name of the capital). The population is composed mainly of humans(the Netherion kind), but there have been interbreeding of humans with elves and dwarves, thus causing the mixed races if the place.

                The current ruler of the city is a maiden of half-elven ancestry, Queen Illa, whose child is one of the Caomhnoir.

Southern District.

Aurum

                Aurum is located in the southern corner of the nation, the location owing the place a half-wintry climate, with its main feature being the mountain ranges that guard it against any king of attack. Although next to Argentum’s line of defense it could be considered normal, it is still terribly dangerous for anyone who trudges on its path unprepared. The mountains are snow-covered, with unpredictable blasts of blizzard waiting at every face. And although the mountain ranges provide a certain amount of defense, it also poses danger to the valley because of the various ways of crossing into it using the extensive web of caves within the mountains.

                The king, Draco of the Black Dragon, is human and always seems to be seeking other places to conquer. However, the control of the Caomhnoir have prevented him from doing so. His palace  is located on a cliff overlooking the snowy village. The people consider gold their sacred metal, owing to the fact that it seems to ooze from every crack of every mountain.

Eastern District

Soleim

                Considered as the smallest of the districts, Soleim is also the Newest to be built. It used to be a part of Argentum until its current ruler, Youngmin, prince of the eves, started an uprising against the last ruler of the northern capital, Midas, who is Illa’s father. The Eastern palace was built a little ways outside the Lucian forest, still giving it a passable line of defense against  attack. The dominating season in this part of the Netherion lands seems to be autumn, also the reason why the sacred metal of the place it the red-brown metal that is the combination of iron and gold.

                     The traditions of Soleim could be compared to certain Asian traditions in the first dimension.

                Relatively peaceful, it is the favorite of the newest Caomhnoirs, giving its young prince the unsurpassable friendship of the guardians.

Western District

Nocte

                Spring being its dominant season, rain is abundant in Nocte. Most of its landscape is lakes and rivers that flow towards the different districts. They basically provide the water for these districts. Its ruler is Night, the second (and bastard)daughter of King Midas.  Owing to the rains, The island was home to several varieties of unique wildlife. Notable among these were the snalgli, a species of snail that the Netherions enjoyed eating for food.

Seaside District

Izalandi

                This is by far the most notable of the seven districts. Aside from the Gate, which is located in the walls of Deimos, the waters of Izalandi present a curious way of in species form the different dimensions. Now and then, people would turn up in the shores, sometimes coming from earth, or else, other worlds. The Izlandum have learned how to deal with these discrepancies through the eons, although the mystery behind the hidden gate is still unsolved. The district itself is an out-nation of the capital, Deimos.

                The current ruler is king Myron, the youngest ruler of Izalandi by far.

Farlands

Venera

                The data about Venera is sparse. But mostly, it is uninhabited but for the northernmost part, which lies in intersection with Aurum. Beyond it is a neverending scape of icy ground, unexplored still by the people. The ruler is Lady Rachel, cousin of King Draco. The relationship between the two neighboring nations are considerably better than the rest of the districts.
