Waking up in dawn due to another sudden surge of pain that shot through her chest.
Crouched up on bed, Jessica was holding onto her chest tightly, gritting her teeth in pain.

Jessica's POV

What actually went.. wrong..?
This hurts so badly..
I thought everything was fine..?

Argh..
The pain is seriously excruciating..

Jessica stayed in the position for minutes till she finally went black.
Not knowing if she has out due to the pain or because her heart wasnt functioning well.
Soon, the sun had rose up from while the moon had went back down.
Walking out of her room sleepily, Yuri was yawning&stretching her arms.

Yuri's POV

Hmm..
Felt so much better after the long night sleep.

*Looks at her watch*

Wow, how long have i exactly slept?
Its already 1pm in the afternoon!

In the dining table, Yuri sat there recalling what exactly happened the night before as the servants served Yuri her brunch.
Placing the plate on her table was butler lee.

"Butler lee?"

"Yes Ms Yuri?"

"I was wondering.."
"Where's Sica..?"
"I remember seeing her last night.." asked Yuri as she took a spoonful of porridge

"Oh, im not sure too"
"I didnt see her this morning too" replied butler lee

"Probably in the office.." muttered Yuri as she fell back into the night before's incident.

Flashback;

After the engagement ceremony dinner, while all the guests started to leave,
Yuri got up&went to the rooms at the back to look for the bride-to-be&groom-to-be.

"Anyeonghaeseyo" bowed Yuri politely

"Yul..?"

"Kwon Yuri imnida" introduced Yuri as she stretched out her arms to Victoria

"So, you're the famous Kwon Yuri who had stolen Nickhun oppa's heart?" asked Victoria sacarstically

"Err.."

"Why are you here?"
"You're not even welcomed"

"Victoria, stop all these" said Nickhun

"I thought it would be nice to come over&wish you guys all the best"
"Congratulate you all.." said Yuri

"Stop with all your fake kindness"
"Im sure you're here to mock at me, not being able to get oppa's love"
"But still getting married to me" mocked Victoria bitterly

"Im not"
"Why should you think this way?"
"Its really sincere, from the bottom of my heart"

"Dont lie"
"Seriously, i hate such hypocrites like you"

"VICTORIA!"
"Stop it right now!" exclaimed Nickhun angrily
"Yul, go home first"
"Ignore her"

"Ignore me?!" exclaimed Victoria angrily as she landed a tight slap on Yuri's cheeks.

"What..?!" commented Yuri shocked as she held onto her cheeks after being slapped.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING NOW VICTORIA SONG?!" scolded Nickhun as he grabbed onto Victoria's wrist

"I told you right?"
"I told you this before"
"To just watch and see!" exclaimed Victoria as she swung free from Nickhun's grasp&immediately grab a glass of wine&poured it all over Yuri

Being treated like that, Yuri couldnt see any point on staying there any longer.
Wanting to congratulate but got treated like that in return.

"Agashimida.."
"I'll get going now" said Yuri, with her teeths gritted tightly, trying to contain his anger.

End of flashback;

"Why did i have to go through all these..?"
"I should have just heeded Sica's advice, not to go" sighed Yuri sadly
"Im such a fool"

While she was dining quietly, she heard footsteps going down the stairs.
Turning her head to see who was it, she saw Jessica, holding onto the staircase for support,
staggering down the stairs, take deep hard breaths&eventually fell.
After watching all these, Yuri then realised that something was wrong&immediately rushed over to Jessica's side.

"Sica-ah, whats wrong..?"
"What happen?" asked Yuri worriedly as she held onto the lethergic body in her arms

"Ani.."
"Im just tired Yul.." smiled Jessica weakly
"So how.. are you.. feeling now?"
"Better?.. Dont think.. about yesterday night.. anymore.."
"Nickhun.. wont pester you.. anymore.."

"Sica-ah, shh.." hushed Yuri
"Come, let me bring you back to bed okay?"

"Ani.."
"I dont want.. to go back.." replied Jessica sadly

Jessica's POV

I dont want to go back..
Im afraid.. i wont wake up anymore..

Last night's pain was seriously no joke..
Im afraid i'll just die on my bed..

"Why?"
"You're so weak now" asked Yuri puzzled
"Why didnt you tell me anything last night?" said Yuri as she put Jessica over her back.

"I know you'll be.. this worried.."
"I dont.. want you to.. be worried.."
"You're already.. so hurt.. last night.."

"Now it hurts me more seeing you like this Sica"
"Nothing is more important to me than you"
"You're the most important person in my life" explained Yuri sadly as she put Jessica back on her bed.

"Yul.." started Jessica
"Do you think.."

"Think..?"

"I'll die..?"
"Like.." sighed Jessica a little
"Im afraid Yul.."
"I dont want.. to leave you.."
"But i dont.. know why.."
"My health's always.."
"Like this.. this is frustrating.."
"I wished that i actually.. have another.. body.."
"I hate mine.." sobbed Jessica sadly as she started hitting herself in frustration.

"No wait"
"Sica, dont" called Yuri sadly as she held onto Jessica's hands
"Dont, you cant do anything to getting what kind of health"
"Or maybe.. you should be able..'
"But.." sighed Yuri a little
"Forget it, whats done cannot be undone"
"So dont dwell over it anymore okay?" smiled Yuri as she ruffled Jessica's hair

"..."
"..."
"..."

"Aww~" cooed Yuri
"Come on, i know my Sica is not a person who gives up easily right?" smirked Yuri
"Tell me now, what happened?"

"Yul.."
"My chest.. hurting for days.."
"But now.. the pain doesnt.. go off like.. now.." said Jessica slowly as she massaged her chest
"It started.. with sudden.. irregular yet.. fast heartbeat.."
"Then.." stopped Jessica

"Araesso araesso"
"You lie here first okay"
"I'll see whats wrong, dont talk anymore"
"I know you're in pain" instructed Yuri as she went over to the other side of Jessica's room&pulled out the echocardiogram machine to Jessica's bedside.

Like what a professional cardiologist do, Yuri did all of it.
Cleaning her hands, transducer with antiseptic wipe, applying the gel on the transducer.
ing Jessica's shirt, Jessica started blushing.

"Whats wrong Sica?"
"Dont tell me you're blushing..?" asked Yuri awkwardly

"Ani.."
"Im not.."

But in actually fact, Jessica's getting a little shy because of what Yuri did.
Usually when Yuri does the check on her, it was during the times when she was sleeping¬ awake.

"Its.. ticklish.." giggled Jessica softly

"Hey, dont move okay?"
"Im focusing on it, if you move its gonna give me clear images" said Yuri as she held onto Jessica's hands

"Bianeh" apologised Jessica a little

After a few minutes, Yuri sighed softly&went to clear things up before settling beside Jessica.

"Whats wrong..?" asked Jessica as she buttoned up her shirt

Yuri turned to Jessica, giving her a solemn look.

"Dont.. look at me.. like this.."
"Its scaring.. me off Yul.."

"Sica, go back to the hospital okay?" asked Yuri, almost in a pleading tone.

"Why..?"

"Please, i'll get you check back to the hospital"
"Just go back"
"Im begging you" said Yuri with tears rolling down her face

"Am i going to die..?" asked Jessica softly after looking at Yuri's worried face

"I wont let you"
"Just go back to the hospital.." sobbed Yuri
"Both of your heart vavles.. the aortic&mitral.."
"You just had your mitral heart valve replaced.."
"I dont know why.."
"I really dont know.. why your aortic heartvalve is damaged now.."
"From the ultrasound" cried Yuri as she fell onto her knees.

"Its okay Yul.."
"Dont cry.." comforted Jessica sadly
"I'll think about.. it.."
"Dont worry.."

"How could I Sica?!"
"Did you forget how important you stand in my heart?!"
"You even more important than my mum!" exclaimed Yuri in disbelief

"Its okay"
"I can still.. bear with the.. pain now.."
"I dont need.. anything.."
"Just you" smiled Jessica weakly

"No, dont"
"Go back to the hospital"
"Apply for a heart transplant&wait for a donor" insisted Yuri firmly

"Heart transplant..?"
"Its gonna take.. super long .. to get one" sighed Jessica
"Plus, there's so many people.. waiting for it.."
"I wont.. stand a chance.." said Jessica softly with a tear falling down her face

"You will Sica!"
"You'll definitely recover!!"
"Once you've recovered, we'll get married!"

"Yul.."
"You know.. yourself.. its not.. gonna be this.. easy.."
"Why not.."

"Why not?"

"Lets.. break up.."

"WHAT?!"
"I CANT!"
"I NEVER WILL!" shouted Yuri

"Yul, i dont wish.. you to.."

"Just leave.. me.."

"Im never gonna do it"
"Not on my death bed!" exclaimed Yuri angrily as she stormed out of the room in tears.

How could she?!
How could Sica ask me to give her up?!

Im her girlfriend, how could i leave her when she's so sick?!
Plus, even if its just friends i still cant bring myself to do it!

On the other side, was Jessica quietly sobbing to herself.

Im sorry Yul..
I just cant help it..
I cant help it by feeling all so hopeless now..

Everything seems to be going against me..
For some reason..
Probably because the god hates me, he wants to take me with him.

I dont know if you can understand how im feeling right now..
But im really..
I really wanna know if i should just give my life up already..
I dont understand, simply dont understand why was my life made so difficult.
Im so sick of it now Yul..
Except for the fact that you're with me thats why im able to pull through so much..

Slowly crying herself to sleep, Jessica then woke up to a different surrounding.
It was all white, the surrounding was all white&quiet only the that could be heard in the room was beeping sounds.
Looking around the room, Jessica sighed.
Plucking away the nasal canula that was on her, Jessica slowly sat up but to see Yuri entering the room with a doctor's robe over her.
Behind her, was a few nurses.
The nurses were like staring at Yuri all the time while they were entering the room like they were falling for her.
Watching all these made Jessica a little angry.

"You're awake?"

"..."
"..."
"..."

"Can you girls please give us some private time?" asked Yuri politely

"Oh?"
"Sure" answered the nurses as the exited the room, closing the door behind them.

Sitting by Jessica's bed, Yuri sighed.

"Sica"
"Im sorry for shouting at you, i didnt mean it"
"I just cant believe the words that came out of your mouth"
"How could you ask for a breakup from your girlfriend when you're so sick?"
"Do you think your girlfriend will compromise to your breakup?" asked Yuri as she tried to put the nasal canula back onto Jessica but was pushed away.
"Sica-ah.."
"Dont be like this.. this will help you breathe better.."
"You aortic heart valve has failed, its so much harder for your heart to pump blood&oxygen through your heart"
"And, you potassium was really low, so i came in with potassium drip"
"Will get it up for you later" smiled Yuri as she tried for the second time to put it back to Jessica but was still pushed away.

"Why am.. i here..?" asked Jessica coldly
"I said i didnt.. want to.. be here"
"Get me.. out of here.. now.."

"I cant"
"Im sorry"
"I wont let you make a fool out of your health"
"Even if its that you're going to hate me"
"I still wont" said Yuri firmly as she went to the door&get the nurses in.
"Put up the potassium drip for her"
"Call me if anything's wrong" instructed Yuri as she took a last glance at Jessica sadly before leaving the room.

As soon as the nurses got the drip working, Jessica felt the hateful yet painful&burning sensation going through her arm's veins.
Frustrated with the pain, Jessica just ripped off the infus that was on her arm&left the room, staggering.
Walking down down the streets near the hospital, Jessica's vision was getting really blurry.
Everything was in a blurry shape to Jessica, but nevertheless, she didnt stop but continued walking.
Jessica was so pissed with her life that she is currently on the verge of giving it up, dont want to continue it anymore.
All she wanted was, to reunite with her mum.

Hospital side

"Dr.Kwon Dr.Kwon!" called one of the nurses, flustered.

"Whats wrong?"
"Why are you so flustered?"

"Ward XXX!"
"Patient missing!!" exclaimed the nurse in between gasps.

"WHAT?!" exclaimed Yuri in disbelief
"Didnt i said to get a nurse to look over her 24/7?!" scolded Yuri as she rushed to the ward

Yuri's POV

Sica, why are you like this?
Is it necessary to get me worried like this?
I took up this job so suddenly because of you..
Why did you..

Its okay if you want to get me worried..
But please dont take your health as a joke..

Entering the room, there was only the leftover of the ripped off infus&IV drip,
nasal canula&an untidy yet empty bed.

On the bed, there was this yellow post-it note.
Yuri walked over&picked it up.

To my dearest Yuri,

Please understand me Yul.
Going through so much yet life isnt getting any better for me.
Im starting to doubt the existence of god.
I've been praying every night, pleading them to give me a better life.
Why?

People said, as long as you pray with a sincere heart,
god can hear your pleas&grant it.
But why im otherwise?
Can you find an explanation to it?

I know i shouldnt complain about my life 'cause there are people out there now who might be in even miserable state than me.
Howeer, im already sick of all these things.
