After reading through the missed text messages&voicemail,
Jessica quickly tapped her phone a few times&got on a call with her dad.

"Appa, its me"

"Oh Sooyeon!"
"You've finally called!"
"Where have you been?"

"Nowhere.."
"So whats wrong appa?"

"I was thinking.. if you could.." started Mr Jung awkwardly
"There's an event today.."
"I cant get back on time for it, if not i would have gone there on my own"
"So i was thinking if you could.."
"If you're tired, then its okay" added Mr Jung

"I see.."
"What time is the event?"

"Err.."
"5.30pm till around 10pm i think.." sighed Mr Jung
"If you're tired, you can give it a miss"

"Aniya"
"Its okay, i'll go in your place" replied Jessica

"You sure about it?"

"Yup"
"Its okay, im sure its important thats why you asked me right, appa?"

"Yeah.." hesistated Mr Jung a little
"Its pretty important.."
"Cause its like all the important people of the society will be there"
"It wouldnt be that good if i were to miss it"
"If i miss it, it would probably do our business nothing good but bad" explained Mr Jung

"Thats the reason i'll be going then appa"
"Dont worry"

"Okay thanks Sooyeon!"
"After you come back from it, dont go to work for a few days&rest okay..?"
"I dont want to tire you out"

"I'll see about it appa"
"Dont worry, gotta go"
"Meeting's gonna start"

While waiting for the rest of the staff to settle down, Jessica quickly send Yuri a short text message.

Yul, im not angry at you.
Sorry for not coming back last night.
Had an emergency at the office&i cant attend Nickhun's engagement dinner with you tonight.

"OMMA!" exclaimed Yuri looking at her phone

"What?" asked Mrs Kwon

"SICA FINALLY REPLIED MY MESSAGE!" exasperated Yuri
"But she's not going to Nickhun oppa's engagement dinner with me"

"Why?"

"She said she has to help her dad out"

"Oh, cant help it then" shrugged Mrs Kwon

"Omma, you know, Sica's been so worried over Nickhun oppa's fiance"
"She's worried she would do something to me"

"Those worries are not over"
"She has her point to worry"
"Plus Nickhun's getting married to a girl he doesnt love while the girl loves him"
"Obviously the girl would be jealous of you&do something to you"
"Thats how majority thinks" explained Mrs Kwon

"Oh?" muttered Yuri as she walked into a dress shop

Jessica's side

"Woah, finally the meeting's over" mumbled Jessica as she walked out of the meeting room, tapping on her ipad, checking her schedules since her secretary's not with her.
"Hmm.."
"I'll have like 2hours of break inbetween my next meeting"
"Then after my next meeting, i'll have to get ready for appa's event.." muttered Jessica to herself as she walked back to her office, unloading all her stuff before heading back home.

On her way home, Jessica received a phone call from Yuri.

*PHONE CALL*

"Yoboseyo" answered Jessica tiredly

"Sica-ah, its me!"
"Wah, gomawo Sica"
"Thanks for not being mad at me!" said Yuri happily

"Nothing Yul"
"It was my fault for getting angry over such tiny things"

"Ani ani"
"Its me, not being understanding enough!"

"Okayokay"
"Its both our fault okay?" said Jessica, not wanting to keep the conversation on by debating who's right or wrong.

"Araesso" giggled Yuri
"So you spent the whole night in the office?"

"Yup, i did"
"Well, something cropped up"

"Oh, its okay"
"As long as you're not angry with me"

"Hey Yul"
"Im having this bad feeling about Nickhun's fiance"
"Be careful later okay?"
"If you feel uncomfortable with them, just come back"

"Araesso"
"Dont be so worried Sica!"
"And what time will you be back?"

"I hope so.."
"Well, probably around 11?"

"I think i'll also reach home around that timing"
"I'll see you at home?"

"I guess so"

"Okay then"

Walking down to the basement&into her car, Jessica instructed her chaffeur to bring her back home.
After travelling for what felt like an hour, Jessica had finally gone back home.

"Welcome back Ms Jessica" greeted butler lee as Jessica got off the car

"Thanks"
"I'll go up to wash up will be down in 20minutes"
"Could you get the chef or something to cook something simple for me?"
"And get a gastric pills"
"Didnt had anything the whole day yesterday"

"Oh okay"
"Sure Ms Jessica"
"We'll get it done as soon as you're down" bowed butler lee respectfully

20 minutes later, Jessica was walking down the stairs in a nice elegant dress.

"Ms Jessica, may i ask why are you all dressed up?"

"Oh" started Jessica as she sat down
"There's an event this event"
"Appa cant make it, he said its rather important"
"So i'll be there in his place" said Jessica

"I see"
"Isnt it too tiring on you?"
"You werent home the whole day yesterday"

"Well, there's nothing much as compared to the past"
"Right?" smiled Jessica

"I guess so"
"Here's your gastric pills&spaghetti" said butler lee as he placed a plate of spaghetti&a small cup of pills on the table

"Thanks butler lee"

"No problem"
"Enjoy your meal"

Around 30minutes later, when Jessica had finished her meal,
was about to stand up when her heart had this sudden fast beating again which made her fell back into her chair.
Butler lee, who was walking past her rushed towards Jessica.

"Ms Jessica!"
"Whats wrong?" asked butler lee worriedly

"Dont.." said Jessica
"Wait.."

A few minutes later, Jessica's heartbeat slowly went back to normal.

"Its been like this since these few days"
"I dont know what went wrong too" explained Jessica

"Have you told Ms Yuri?"
"She needs to know"

"No dont tell her"
"She'll be super worried"
"Anyway, its just like had this sudden fast beating"
"Its not like my chest hurts, or probably sometimes only"

"But if its not getting any better"
"Do tell Ms Yuri" advised butler lee
"Mr Jung is going to be worried if he hears of this too"

"I know"
"So dont tell them"
"I'll have to go now"

Yuri's side

"Congratulations oppa" said Yuri as she saw Nickhun, who was standing by the door welcoming the guest.

"Thanks Yul"
"Really thank you for coming!" replied Nickhun happily

"Wish that you'll be happy"
"Stay happy"
"Really glad to see your wedding photos"
"It turned out pretty well" complimented Yuri

"Thanks.." replied Nickhun sadly

"Whats wrong?"
"She's bad to you?"

''Aniya.."
"She's not its just that you know.."
"I dont like her, i dont have the feeling"
"She's just my childhood friend.."

"Childhood friend?"
"Feelings can be slowly developed"
"Dont worry" assured Yuri with a smile

"I hope so.."
"Why isnt Jessica with you?"
"She's still mad at me..?"

"Ah, Sica-ah"
"She's not, dont worry"
"She has to help her dad or something so she cant make it"

"I hope thats true.."

"YAH!"
"Oppa, how could you doubt my words?!"
"Its true!"

"Araesso araesso"
"Come on, go in&take a seat"
"It will begin soon" smiled Nickhun as he urshered Yuri into the dinner hall.

During the engagement ceremony, Yuri was seated there,
clapping with the rest of the guests,
congratulating Nickhun on his engagement.
Deep inside Yuri's heart, she was also really happy for Nickhun.
Having a girl to take care of him, care for him.

Yuri's POV

Finally, Nickhun's engaged.
I mean its good for him, having a girl to care&love him.
Instead of loving me, knowing that he wont get any love in return.
Its a waste, a waste spending his love on me.
I hope he can start to appreciate his fiance&start to love her.

After the engagement ceremony dinner, while all the guests started to leave,
Yuri got up&went to the rooms at the back to look for the bride-to-be&groom-to-be.

"Anyeonghaeseyo" bowed Yuri politely

"Yul..?"

"Kwon Yuri imnida" introduced Yuri as she stretched out her arms to Victoria

"So, you're the famous Kwon Yuri who had stolen Nickhun oppa's heart?" asked Victoria sacarstically

"Err.."

"Why are you here?"
"You're not even welcomed"

"Victoria, stop all these" said Nickhun

"I thought it would be nice to come over&wish you guys all the best"
"Congratulate you all.." said Yuri

"Stop with all your fake kindness"
"Im sure you're here to mock at me, not being able to get oppa's love"
"But still getting married to me" mocked Victoria bitterly

"Im not"
"Why should you think this way?"
"Its really sincere, from the bottom of my heart"

"Dont lie"
"Seriously, i hate such hypocrites like you"

"VICTORIA!"
"Stop it right now!" exclaimed Nickhun angrily
"Yul, go home first"
"Ignore her"

"Ignore me?!" exclaimed Victoria angrily as she landed a tight slap on Yuri's cheeks.

"What..?!" commented Yuri shocked as she held onto her cheeks after being slapped.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING NOW VICTORIA SONG?!" scolded Nickhun as he grabbed onto Victoria's wrist

"I told you right?"
"I told you this before"
"To just watch and see!" exclaimed Victoria as she swung free from Nickhun's grasp&immediately grab a glass of wine&poured it all over Yuri

Being treated like that, Yuri couldnt see any point on staying there any longer.
Wanting to congratulate but got treated like that in return.

"Agashimida.."
"I'll get going now" said Yuri, with her teeths gritted tightly, trying to contain his anger.

After Yuri left, Nickhun grabbed onto Victoria's wrists&pushed her back to the wall.

"What did you think you were doing back then?!"
"Yuri was sincere, who do you think you are to slap her&pour the wine over her?!"
"You're not even her mother or anything yet you insulted her inside out like that?!"

"What?!"
"Since i cant even get your love or concern!"
"Why should i care?!" said Victoria with tears overflowing her face
"You dont even care about me!"

"That doesnt give you any reason to do that too!"
"I know im not giving you any love or concern but you've to give me time!" exasperated Nickhun in depress
"You're always doing all these, i really dont know what to do!"
"You'll eventually leave me a choice to hate you!"

"Then go ahead&hate me!"
"Its not like you're not doing it now!"

"Fine!"
"Stop crying now Victoria" said Nickhun, tone a little cooled down.

"Why?"
"You dont even bother about me!"
"Dont act like you cared!" shouted Victoria as she ran out of the room

What've i done..?
But Victoria really shouldnt have dont that..
Pouring wine over Yuri&slapping her..

Maybe i should start accepting Victoria?
She's trying her best..
And Yuri's not even mine at all..

Im so freaking tired!
Super duper exhausted.
Sigh..

I wonder how did Nickhun's engagement ceremony went..

I really hate my heart, if only i could have a heart transplant or something..
Its forever so weak..

Alighting from the car, outside the main entrance of Jessica's mansion,
Jessica was welcomed by butler lee with a smile on his face while Yuri who looked extremely dejected walking towards them.

"Yuri-ah!" exclaimed Jessica who ran towards Yuri
"What happened?!"
"Why are you soaked in.." sniffed Jessica
"Red wine..?"

"Oh, Sica-ah"
"Did you have fun?" asked Yuri who tried to change the topic

"Yuri-ah"
"Tell me what happen"
"But before that, go in&get changed first"
"What if you're sick?"
"You looked cold, you should have called me" said Jessica as she hurried Yuri back into the room
"I would have brought you home!" added Jessica

"Kwenchanae Sica-ah" smiled Yuri
"Its okay"
"Its just something happened between Victoria&I.." sighed Yuri
"Sica, i really went there to congratulate them.."
"Really, sincerely, right from the bottom of my heart.."

"I know"
"And..?"

"And.."
"I got slapped!"
"Poured over with the wine!" exasperated Yuri
"Dont you think its too over?"
"Even if its doubting my blessings, she shouldnt do that to me!" said Yuri unbelievably

"She slapped you..?"
"I told you.."
"It wasnt a good idea right?"
"Come on, dont be sad.." cooed Jessica as she hugged onto Yuri
"Get a change, do you want to eat something or anything?"
"I can get it for you" offered Jessica kindly

"Aniyo"
"Its okay" smiled Yuri sadly

5 minutes later, Yuri plopped back in her bed, feeling all so sad&angry.
Yuri didnt expect being treated this way, she felt so insulted&doubted.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"Sica?"
"Why arent you resting yet?"
"You havent had rest since yesterday" said Yuri as she sat up from her bed

"Ani"
"If it comes to you, im not tired" smiled Jessica as she passed Yuri a cup of drink
"Here, drink this up"

"Whats this?" asked Yuri as she got the cup from Jessica

"Ginger tea"
"Afraid that you'll catch a cold"

"Gomawo Sica" said Yuri as she finished the tea in a gulp

"Come on"
"Lie down&sleep Yul"
"Everything will be well when you wake up" assured Jessica with a smile as she patted on Yuri's bed
"I'll tuck you in bed tonight" offered Jessica

"Hahas.."
"Really ah Sica..?" asked Yuri as she laid back on her bed

"Of course!"
"You're doubting me now?" said Jessica as she pulled the covers over Yuri.
"Sleep now, you had a long day today" whispered Jessica into Yuri's ears before landing a sweet peck on Yuri's forehead.

"Goodnights Sica" smiled Yuri as she closes her eyes while Jessica walked out, switching off the lights in Yuri's room.

Standing outside Yuri's room, Jessica felt her heart ache a little when she heard that her beloved Yuri got slapped by someone,
someone that that she didnt know, how could that person slap Yuri?

Jessica's POV

Yuri-ah..
I told you not to go for the engagement ceremony..
I knew something would have happened..

But how could Victoria have slapped you?!
What was Nickhun doing all along then?!
Didnt he stop Victoria?!

While all these thoughts were flowing through Jessica's mind,
Jessica's phone rang.

*PHONE CALL*

"Yoboseyo"

"Its me Nickhun"
"Jessica, could you get me to Yuri?"
"I cant get her through her phone" said Nickhun worriedly

"Yuri?"
"Oh come on, just stop looking for Yuri"
"Take it as im pleading you"
"It is hurting me inside out when i heard from Yuri that she got slapped by your fiance"
"Did you even know Yuri never once let anyone hit her or anything before?"
"This is her first time&i'll make it sure that it will be the last!" warned Jessica
"I dont want my girlfriend to get hurt" added Jessica
"Like how she cared for me"

"I understand Jessica"
"Im utterly sorry for what've happened"
"I just want to apologise to her"

"Save your apologies" snapped Jessica
"We dont need it"
"You were there yet you didnt even stop Victoria"
"So the conclusion is, i hope that you'll stop pestering Yuri"
"Let her lead her life her way while you lead yours happily with your Victoria"
"Although i dont know if you need it, but you have our blessings"
"Thats it!" said Jessica as she ended the call in anger.

What the heck is this?
Trying to apologise when something was done like that?
Did he even know how insulted one can feel being treated like that?!

Plopping down back on her bed, throwing her phone one side,
lying on the bed depressed over Yuri's problem.
Just tehn her heart started to beat really fast again&there's this slight pain on her chest.

"Arghh.." muttered Jessica as she massaged her chest
"Whats wrong.."
"Am i too tired..?"

Just then her phone rang.

*PHONE CALL*

"Appa..?"

"Oh its me Sooyeon"
"So how was the event?"
"Is it too tiring for you?"
"Why arent you asleep yet?"

"Woah.."
"Slow down, appa.."
"The event was so-so..?"
"Not too tiring i think..?"
"I just got back home not long ago thus not asleep yet.." said Jessica slowly, breathing hard.

"Why do you sound so..?"
"Out of breath?"

"Do i..?" said Jessica trying to act all natural
"Ani, im okay"
"Appa, im tired i'll be turning in now.."

"Araesso araesso"
"Rest well, good nights"
"Love you"

"Love you too"

"Phew, that was close"
"Shall go get some pain killer" muttered Jessica as she pulled open her drawer, getting a bottle of pills out.

Swallowing two of them, Jessica then got back in bed&soon fell into deep slumber.
