A few hours later, Nickhun came into Jessica's ward with a few of the nurses.

"Oh, you're here oppa" said Yuri as she stood up from Jessica's bed

"Yup"
"Im here to push her into the surgery theatre"
"You know, its time"
"So how's she now?" asked Nickhun while looking through Jessica's clipboard of papers for the final check

"Well, think she's okay for now"
"She's been saying she's not nervous"
"Not scared at all"
"But i know her too well, oppa"
"She's just keeping everything inside her"
"She doesnt want us to worry about her" said Yuri sadly as she turned to look at the fragile pale looking girl who's lying on the bed, breathing hard.

"I know"
"I understand, its afterall a major surgery"
"How can one not be worried"
"But, dont worry Yul"
"You'll be in with me too"
"Plus, Jessica's a strong girl" smiled Nickhun who then later slowly walked to Jessica&nudged her.
"Wake up.."
"Wake up pretty~"

"Hmm..?"

"Its time now"
"We'll get you into the surgery theatre&you can sleep later"
"Just stay awake for a few minutes" smiled Nickhun as he signalled the nurses to push her out

"Sica, dont worry okay?"
"I'll be in with Nickhun oppa" smiled Yuri who was holding onto the hands of Jessica's.

Jessica just nodded tiredly with a soft smile.

"See you later"
"I'll go&prepare now" said Yuri who turned for the door

"Nickhun..sshi.." called Jessica soflty before Nickhun left the room

"Yup?"

"Please..help me.."
"Let me.. live.." begged Jessica with a tear falling down her cheek
"I wanna.. live long.. with Yuri.."

"Hmm..?"
"Dont worry Jessica"
"You'll be out alive&healthy in 2 months time"
"So just dont think about it&everything will turn out well" smiled Nickhun assuringly before catching up with Yuri

"Jessica-sshi" called the anesthetic doctor after putting the anesthetic mask over Jessica's face
"You'll be drifting into your slumberland now.."

"Yul, we'll do well"
"Jessica's gonna be fine"

"Hopefully" sighed Yuri

"Alright now, get ready"

"Scalpel" said Nickhun with his handed stretched out to the nurse who was standing beside him

12 hours later, outside the surgery theatre.

Mr Jung, Mrs Kwon, Taeyeon&Tiffany was sitting outside the surgery theatre,
waiting patiently for Nickhun&Yuri to come out of the surgery theatre.
Just then, Yuri walked out of the surgery theatre, coming out of the door.

"How's she now Yuri?" asked Mrs Kwon immediately after spotting Yuri

Yuri slowly took off the mask&gloves with a solemn expression on her face.

"Well.." sighed Yuri

"Is that a sigh of relief or..?"
"Tell me!" said Mr Jung

"Jessica.."

"Tell me, stop beating around the bush!" pushed Mr Jung

"Well, there was some complications during the surgery"
"One of her heart arteries had a slight leak"
"Causing blood to spill all over us.."
"But we had everything in control.."
"So she's fine for now.." said Yuri
"However, she still needs to be kept under close observation for a week" added Yuri

"Oh, well done my daughter"
"Well done Yuri" complimented Mrs Kwon
"You've done well, you must be tired after standing for so long"
"Go&rest"

"Ani, kwenchaena omma"
"I'll go&wash up before going back to Sica's ward"
"I want to be there when she wakes up" smiled Yuri triedly as she left the crowd

While walking past Taeyeon&Tiffany,
the duo showed Yuri a thumbs up to Yuri,
mouthing "WELL DONE" to Yuri cheekily.

Yuri just smiled&bowed slightly to Taeyeon&Tiffany.

"Hmm.."
"Tae, dont you think Yuri's tired?"
"She look so exhausted" commented Tiffany

"Yeah, i think so"
"I think she's physically&emotionally drained for worrying Jessica" replied Taeyeon

"Lets organise a party for them when Jessica recovers from it"
"How's that?" suggested Tiffany with her eyes lit up a little from excitement.

"Sounds great"
"Lets go grab some drinks before heading to Jessica's room first"
"Im thirsty Tiff" pouted Taeyeon cutely

"Araesso araesso" smiled Tiffany as she hooked her arms onto Taeyeon

In Jessica's ward

Yuri was sitting by Jessica's bedside, caressing Jessica's infused hands which Mrs Kwon was dozing off at the a corner on a chair.
Surprisingly, Mr Jung was nowhere to be found.
As a father, Mr Jung should be here for Jessica but it looks otherwise.
However, Yuri couldnt care less now.
All she was concerned about was Jessica.

"Sica-ah.."
"Wake up soon alright..?"
"Your surgery was a success"
"Now all you have to do is accompanying me" said Yuri softly as she slowly dozed off due to the tiredness in her.

While Yuri was sleeping on the chair beside Jessica's bed, with her head resting of Jessica's hands,
Nickhun walked into the room silently, not wanting to wake anyone up.

"Aish.."
"Pabo Yul.." commented Nickhun softly as he put his coat over Yuri to keep her warm.
"Yuri.. Please stay happy, not for my sake probably.."
"But for Jessica's.." sighed Nickhun sadly

Looking at the conditon Jessica was in, Nickhun merely shook his head slightly&left the room.

The next morning, Yuri was awaken by a slight movement made by Jessica's hands.
Jessica's hands were caressing Yuri's face lightly with so much love in it.

"Hmm.."
"Sica..?" asked Yuri half awake while rubbing her eyes

Jessica only managed to force up a weak smile at Yuri while holding onto Yuri's hands

"Kwenchaena?"
"Are you in pain?"
"Like anywhere?" asked Yuri worriedly

Jessica just shook her head lightly,

"im just tired.."
"Kwencha..nae.." mouthed Jessica with a weak smile to assure Yuri that she's fine

"Thats great to hear, Sica-ah"
"I was so worried" said Yuri as she sat back onto the chair

While mumbling away to Jessica, Yuri noticed that Jessica's eyes were not on her but rolling everywhere around the room.

"Whats wrong Sica?" asked Yuri
"Are you looking for someone?"
"There's only my mum&i here"

"Ap..pa..?" asked Jessica, barely audible for Yuri to hear.

But Yuri was able to read Jessica's lips, so she knew what Jessica was trying to say.

"I dont know"
"Maybe he went back to his old self again?"
"After realising that you're fine&all?" replied Yuri slightly annoyed

"Sica-ah, listen"
"Dont be bothered by your that jerky father"
"Forget everything, all you have to do now is to recover well"
"Everything can wait, not your health"

Jessica just nodded sadly&drifted back into her slumberland

Yuri's POV

Sigh..
Despite the fact that Sica's already 22,
she's still yearning for her father's care&concern so much.
I guess, its probably because she didnt have them for the past 22 years.

To think back, where the hell has that jerk gone to?
Sica had just completed her surgery, shouldnt he be here for her?
Think Sica's life is just plain sad, guys she met are just jerks.

Thank god Nickhun oppa is so different from them.
If not, i think i would have stopped believing that there are still good guys out there.

Few weeks later, Jessica had already been discharged from the hospital&was recuperating at home with Yuri accompanying her.
But, Jessica was actually pretty sad&disappointed that eversince she finished her surgery,
she hasnt seen Mr Jung at all.
Jessica was wondering if she had done anything to piss Mr Jung off again..

"Sica-ah"
"Here's your medicine" called Yuri as she entered Jessica's room with a small tray in her hands

"Yuri.." called Jessica with watery eyes

"Whats wrong Sica?"
"Why are your eyes watery?"
"Are you in pain or something?" asked Yuri panickly as she quickly put down the tray beside Jessica's bed&sat down, with her hands holding onto Jessica.

"Yuri.."
"Do you think.."
"I mean do you think.."
"Appa's angry at me.. again..?" asked Jessica with that sad innocent looking eyes
"He doesnt visit me anymore.."
"What did i do previously that made him ignore me..?"
"Do you know?"
"I can change you know.."

"Aww~"
"Come over here Sica" said Yuri as she brought Sica into her warm embrace
"Listen"
"I dont know whats wrong with your father"
"But you know, it really hurts me much to see you feeling so sad over your dad" whispered Yuri into Jessica's ears.
"Dont cry anymore, Sica"
"Your tears are my blood thats bursting out of my sad heart"
"I've seen enough of you crying so much over your dad.."
"Please, just live without him.." said Yuri as she Jessica's soft hair.

"Im sorry Yul.."
"I just cant help it.." sobbed Jessica softly
"I just cant imagine why appa doesnt love me at all.."
"Is it because i've stopped helping him out at his company thats why he hates me..?"

"Sica, im sure you heard of this right?"
"A leopard never changes its spots.."
"Aka your dad.."
"I didnt mean to you know, make you sad.."
"But thats how i feel.."

"Sigh.."
"I was just probably thinking.. too much.."
"Expecting too much.."
"I wish i wasnt well you know Yul.."
"So appa could be with me, telling me those words that would make me feel better.."
"Not physically but mentally.."

"Sica!"
"Stop saying those depressing words"
"Even if you want, i wont let it happen"
"Your health is my top priority!"

"Araesso araesso.." sighed Jessica sadly

"Here, dont try to divert my attention to talking all these with you"
"And make me forget about your medicine" said Yuri as she handed the pills over to Jessica

"Araesso doctor Yul.." replied Jessica as she took the pills from her&stuff everything into , swallowing it all in a gulp.

"Good" complimented Yuri satisfied
"Great that i dont have to coax to eat it today" smiled Yuri
"Now lie back onto the bed&rest okay?"
"I'll wake you up when dinner's ready"

"I dont want to sleep anymore"
"I've been sleeping for so many days till i've lost count of it Yul"
"You made me sleep all the time ever since i got home from hospital.." whined Jessica
"I wanna go out&talk a walk"
"You dont even let me go down to the kitchen or living room!" protested Jessica

"Im just worried for you"
"Dont want you falling left&right all over the place 'cause you're still weak" explained Yuri

"I wont i wont!" said Jessica as she quickly got off her bed&walked straight out of the door to prove to Yuri that she's perfectly fine.
"See?"

"Fine, go&walk all you want"
"Dont let me see you falling, fainting or dozing off anywhere 'cause i wont be bringing you back to bed!" exasperated Yuri

Sometimes, their tiny weeny bickerings are the ones that made their life interesting.
Those bickering&sweet moments are the ones that actually coloured their lives up.

While walking out of the house, towards the backyard of the Jung mansion,
Jessica was enjoying the sunlight that was shinning on her, the fresh air she's breathing in right now.
Everything seems perfectly fine for her, so perfect.
She has everything, perfect love line, 'perfect' health etc but just not perfect family..
If only..
If only Mr Jung was there for Jessica..
There wasnt any news about Mr Jung, he just disappeared into the thin air like he never existed.
However, for Yuri, she thought that it would actually be much better than he being here all the time,
forcing Jessica to work despite her health conditions.

"AHH~"
"This is so good~" exasperated Jessica as she sat down on the swinging bench that was in her backyard.
"I miss the sunlight, fresh air&all my lovely flowers here!"

Sitting down on the bench, enjoying the warm sunlight thats shinning on Jessica's skin,
listening to all the birds chirping around her with the fresh scent while swinging herself away.
She slowly fell asleep in the nice, warm, relaxing environment.

Yuri's side

Yuri was cooking in the kitchen for dinner later with Jessica,
while humming Smurfs' happy song.
Yuri watched The Smurfs with Jessica a few days ago to keep Jessica entertained but this song just kept appearing in her mind.
The tune just repeatedly appeared in her ears.

"la la la la la la ~ sing a happy song~" hummed Yuri

Just then, Yuri's phone rang.
Yuri quickly took off her gloves&picked up her phone in the pocket of her apron.

*PHONE CALL*

"Yoboseyo"

"Oh its me"
"Nickhun"

"Ah neh oppa"

"What are you doing now?"

"Me?"
"Oppa, dont tell me you're just calling me to ask this"

"Aniyo"
"Cant even ask a little stuff like this?"
"You've changed Yul" teased Nickhun

"Hahas, i was just kidding"
"Well, im cooking dinner for Sica"

"Wow, sounds great"
"Hahs, i've never tasted food cooked by you before Yul"

"Well, am i sensing that tint bit of jealousy here?" joked Yuri

"I guess you are"
"Hahas, anyway im just calling up to check on Jessica"
"So how's she doing right now?"

"Oh Sica"
"She's doing perfectly fine i think"
"Even went out to the backyard just now"
"Well, she's been insisting she's fine"
"Wanted to prove it to me, so she just went out" explained Yuri while busy fiddling with her ingredients

"Sounds great"
"Think she's doing well then"
"Relieved to hear that"
"Yul, take great care of her okay?"

"Of course i will"
"Dont worry"
"Tell you what oppa, i'll call you later alright?"
"Im a little busy here"

"Oh really?"
"Araesso, i'll wait for your call then"

While cooking&preparing for dinner, Yuri had totally forgotten about Jessica.
It was then after hours of preparation, when she was about ot go get Jessica then she realised that Jessica hadnt appeared infront of her ever since she left the house for the backyard.
As Yuri walked out of the mansion, she came across butler lee.

"Butler Lee?"

"Yes Ms Yuri?"

"Well, did you happen to see Sica?"
"Is she still at the backyard?"

"Oh, Ms Jessica?"
"Yup, she's still at the backyard"
"A little weird, she fell asleep under the hot sun since afternoon" said butler lee giving a puzzled look

"Ah really?"
"That pabo"
"Araesso"
"Thanks for telling me" smiled Yuri before heading to the backyard only to see the motionless body of Jessica
"Aish.."
"That pabo, the sun's so hot, how can she sleep there..?!"

Yuri walked up to Jessica&lightly nudged her.

"Yah, wake up"
"Sica-ah, wake up!"
"Time for dinner!" called Yuri

"Hmm..?"
"Araesso, coming coming"

"See, told you"
"Eventually falling asleep outside under such a hot sun"
"Wait till you get heat pabo" said Yuri as she knocked Jessica's head

"I missed the sunlight what.."
"Plus, i fell asleep because of your medicine"
"I know you've been giving me medicine that caused me to be so drowsy!" pouted Jessica

"Well, thats because i thought you needed more rest" smirked Yuri
"Lets get going, dinner's gonna get cold if we continue talking here" said Yuri as she pulled Jessica into the mansion
"Man, you're hot Sica"
"Think you got burnt under the hot sun!" commented Yuri

"Well, i think the sun cooked me"
"Too bad, you missed the chance to cook me"
"The sun was a step earlier than you" joked Jessica as she took her seat at the dinning table
"Wow, what a spread!"

"Of course"
"Actually, i've been waiting for the day to come"
"Having to dine on the dining table with you"
"With so much of your favourite dishes" said Yuri as she put a piece of fish onto Jessica's bowl

"But did you know, that someone was so concerned about you, thats why?"
"That someone took your health as her first priority!" explained Yuri enthuastically

"I understand where she's coming from" smiled Jessica sweetly
"So i wont blame her" giggled Jessica

Its been such a long time since Yuri heard such giggles coming from Jessica.
Not afraid to admit this, but Yuri really missed those giggles&chuckles.
But, the thing she missed most was the kiss she had with Jessica on her birthday.
It was the most amazing experience ever for Yuri, at least.

"Araesso"
"Come on, eat this"
"Cooked by me okay, with so so so much love!" said Yuri while trying to show how much love it was filled with through her spreading her arms wide open

"Okay i know"
"The love inside is as much as a fullstop with the font size of 6" joked Jessica cheekily

"WHAT?!"
"Now you're like this after you're feeling a little better"
"Fine, im not gonna care about you then"
"Bullying me right after you're feeling better"
"Things are never fair when you take care of someone but instead of being thanked"
"You get bullied" grumbled Yuri as she played with her food

"Come on pretty, dont be mad!"
"I was just kidding!"
"Here, ah~" cooed Jessica who picked up a piece of meat&place it infront of Yuri's pouting lips.

Leaving with no choice, Yuri accepted the meat that was floating infront of her lips.

"Thats right"
"Good girl, you've made the right choice" teased Jessica after sending the piece of apology meat into Yuri's mouth.

Later that night, Jessica&Yuri was lying on Jessica's bed together, snuggling into each others arms.

"Sica-ah"
"You look so red now" chuckled Yuri as she caressed Jessica's red cheeks

"Hah?"
"Really?"
"Yul, i feel so hot.." whined Jessica
"My body feels so hot.."

"Hot..?" asked Yuri as she placed her hands over Jessica's neck then cheeks&finally her forehead.
"Give me a minute" said Yuri&came back within a minute.

In her hands, was an ear thermometer.

"Here" said Yuri as she inserted the ear thermometer in Jessica's ears.

*BEEP BEEP*

"38.8degrees"
"Aigoo.. Sica-ah, look at you!"
"Who asked you to sleep under the sun!" sighed Yuri
 

"Hahas"
"Nevermind, you know this is the love the sun is giving me"
"He couldnt give me any other gifts but his warmth of love" chuckled Jessica cutely
"Its just a slight fever"
"Dont worry Yul~"

"Sigh.."
"Wait here" was all Yuri said&left the room.

Coming back up was pills&a cup of water.

"Eat this up"
"They are fever reducers" instructed Yuri as she handed the pills&glass of water over to Jessica

"Wow"
"You sure are efficient"
"I wonder what kind of medicine my house doesnt actually have it" mumbled Jessica as she took the pills over from Yuri&gulped it down immediately.
"Taken"
"Happy?" asked Jessica

"Nope"
"Now laid back down&sleep" said Yuri

"I want you to sleep with me"
"Im used to snuggling in your warm embrace every night" pouted Jessica

"Arent you warm enough by yourself?"
"You still need my warmth?" joked Yuri

"Of course i do"
"Even if im burning with fire, i'll still need the warmth from you" smiled Jessica sweetly

"Cant stand your mushy words~" shivered Yuri
"Its giving me goosebumps~" commented Yuri cheekily as she laid down beside Jessica
"And I seriously think you're getting sunburnt after this" mumbled Yuri while looking at Jessica's red skin.

"Well, im just gonna be a little tan as you i guess"
"You know, to match up with my girlfriend" winked Jessica
"Because my girlfriend's a little tan too"

"Oh really?"
"To match up with me?" mocked Yuri
"I think being so white suits you"
"Tan doesnt suit you at all!"
"Well, dont think about it now"
"Just drift off to your slumberland, we'll see in a few days if you got any tan-er because of your sun's gift - warmth of love" teased Yuri as she landed a peck on Jessica's forehead
"Goodnights baby"

"Goodnights Yul" replied Jessica who surprised Yuri with a lip peck.

Yuri's eyes widened in shock while Jessica quickly turned to the other side of the bed,
embarrassed.

Oh my god.
What did i just do?

This is so embarassing!
I hope Yuri dont talk about it tomorrow.
