"SHE'S sleeping so well..."

Joohyun murmured to herself while looking at the sleeping Seulgi beside her. They were already on the plane back to Seoul. It's an early morning flight and they will be having classes in the afternoon, that's why it is reasonable for Seulgi to be asleep but Joohyun just can't have the same leisure for sleeping. The shock from Seulgi's confession was just too severe.

The professor then leaned back on her chair and looked at the window. 'She already responded to my confession but I couldn't remember it at all. Oh, rom-con gods, why is it like this!? Why did you make me forget about the most important thing of that night!?'

A loud sigh came out of Joohyun as her head dropped. She tried to massage her head because of the headache brought by the stress of trying to remember. 'Seulgi won't lie about it. She won't have any reason to lie about it. What the hell have I done? I hurt her with the same sentence I used to scar her in the past...'

Joohyun's heart continued to sink when she remembered how awkward things have become. They usually didn't care about little skinships but Seulgi didn't even hold her hand during the take off. Joohyun didn't feel scared at all. She was more affected by the fact that Seulgi didn't hold her hand.

‘I boxed her…’ Joohyun continued her internal monologue as she took another look at Seulgi. ‘I boxed her into my own prejudice that I didn’t even notice that she was already laying herself bare to me.

Her eyes then automatically transferred to the arm rest that they usually had up but is now perfectly drawing a line between them. It’s properly serving its purpose with Seulgi’s arm resting on it as she sleeps peacefully.

“Uhh…” Joohyun flinched when Seulgi groaned. It seemed like she was dreaming. She heard from Jimin that Seulgi wasn’t really able to sleep on their first night in Jeju. The writer was restless when she left. She tried to calm herself by posting pictures on her SNS but got reprimanded. The girls remembered falling asleep with Seulgi still outside and woke up with her going nuts.

“You don’t normally get affected by what others think but I guess you were so emotionally unstable yesterday…” Joohyun whispered while looking at Seulgi’s face. The dark circles under her eyes were very visible. 

Joohyun was about to clear the writer’s face from stray hair when her head suddenly dropped and remained hanging. Seulgi was in such a very deep sleep that she didn’t even bother on how uncomfortable her position was. 

The smaller professor wanted to have Seulgi lean on her for a change because it’s always her leaning on Seulgi. She wondered for a minute how she would make Seulgi lean more on her when she’s the shorter one and her face reddened instantly at the idea that she might end up hugging her in the process. 

But first, Joohyun has to remove whatever that’s between them–that dreaded arm rest. 

The professor then gently removed Seulgi’s arm and proceeded to move the armrest up but for some strange reason, the armrest was stuck like King Arthur’s sword.

“W-What the heck…” Joohyun examined the said wall, she also confirmed that she was pushing the right button but the rom-com gods were really hindering her to make a move when she needed it the most. 

“So annoying!” Joohyun hissed before smacking the armrest. ‘Whatever! Even if there’s something in between us, I will make her lean on—’

Joohyun stiffened when someone suddenly came and gently slid a neck pillow on Seulgi. It was a woman wearing a spatial white coloured uniform paired with an orange scarf. It was one of the flight attendants! And it wasn’t just a random stewardess. It’s someone that Joohyun immediately recognised. 

The attendant gave her a meaningful smile before gently moving Seulgi into a more comfortable position. She even tucked Seulgi’s hair behind her ears while looking at the writer with those sparkly eyes. 

‘What? How? I didn’t see her when we boarded the place? Was I really too out of myself that I didn’t notice her? Did Seulgi see her already? Is she aware that she’s one of the flight attendants?’

The said stewardess then stood up and Joohyun was taken aback with the woman’s height. She gave Joohyun a sweet smile before looking at Seulgi again.

“She’s such a heavy sleeper.” The flight attendant, Park Sooyoung, said with such a lovely smile. “You are with her, right? Please tell her that there’s no need to return the neck pillow to me. But if she still wants to then she can meet me anytime.”

The stewardess then gracefully bowed at Joohyun. “I hope you enjoy our flight, Madam.”

Joohyun wasn’t even able to bow back but Sooyoung already left. The professor was left with her jaw hanging, and couldn't believe what just happened. She then slowly turned to Seulgi and was so ready to give the sleeping writer a smack. 

“Your girls just really pop out of nowhere, huh? Just how many girls did you date?” Joohyun rolled her eyes before crossing her arms. She leaned back on her chair but her eyes were still fixed on Seulgi. 

A smile then slowly curved up off of Joohyun’s lips while lovingly staring at her silly ex-best friend. She then placed her hand near her chest, feeling the ring that Seulgi gave her. Since the chain was broken, Joohyun wore the ring using her own necklace, giving it a new pendant. 

‘But the one you proposed to is me, right? I believe that’s more than enough.’  She slowly reached out to Seulgi’s and held her gently. She took one last look of the writer before closing her eyes. ‘I’m sorry for boxing you and making you feel bad about your own love language. I’ll make sure to trust you more and not be so insecure…’

“PLEASE go ahead without me.”

Minjeong’s eyebrows met after hearing that line from Seulgi. “I felt like I heard that line last night too.”
