A common dream
If I were a fairySince I was young, I loved music. In fact, I adored it to bits. Music was powerful, it could practically be a language.
However, in Songserian, only males can sing, dance and perform. But I'm not a male. I'm Jessica, Jung Jessica. My best friends, Sunny, Taeyeon and I suppose I could say Donghae, were highly supportive of my dream to actually sing, no matter how horribly illegal it would be.
There were trackers in our houses, to see if there was any unauthorised singing, or rather, females singing. We were allowed to listen to females from other places sing, but as long as a single hum didn't pass our lips, we were safe. To be honest, Taeyeon, Sunny and I were desperate to sing, so we would go to a rural area away from the town to sing, specifically a forest. We chose a high tree we could climb up, since sound travels up and not down. Donghae rarely joined us singing, his poor throat was probably sore from straining to hit the right pitch. Taeyeon and Sunny had amazing voices ,it was a total waste of their talent.
I had always been considered weird, since females hardly think about singing. In kindergarten, I said I aspired to be a singer, and the teacher practically fell off her chair. My classmates laughed at me and stopped playing with me, leaving me forever alone. In elementary school, my "crime" was not forgotten. People stared at me, and ignored me. I was alone all the way up to 3rd grade, when Sunny and Taeyeon moved to Songserian. Apparently, their dads had a business offer or something. They, too, wanted to sing as much as I did. We became fast friends, all of us having a common dream. ************************************************
