"I don't like movies like this," she complains, shielding her eyes from the bright screen before them.

He smiles warmly, giving her a slight squeeze on the shoulder (even though he too, is quite scared -- although he would never admit it himself). "It's gonna be okay..." he murmurs.

"You always say that," she huffs, pouting at him.

Another few gunshots, an explosion or two, and Jieun finds herself buried in his shoulder, silently squealing (of horror, that is). She can feel him giggling, so she smacks him to make him stop. There's nothing attractive about someone who revels in another person's discomfort, she thinks. (Oh, really? something in the back of her mind asks. Shut up, she reddens at the thought.)

He glances cautiously over to her side and sneaks a quick kiss on the top of her head. His hand subconsciously reaches for hers, their fingers molding together just so.

He makes a note to himself to take her to these kinds of movies more often.



The next day, he stares at her inquisitively as she shoves a couple movie tickets into his outstretched palm.

"I'm asking you out on a date, and you just stand there saying nothing?" Jieun places her hands on her hips.

"N-no, I just, ah...what movie are we watching?"

Her lips curl into a knowing smile. "We'll see!" Her sing-song voice is enough to make him melt, and it effectively does.



He sighs. She's sniffling again, he thinks.

"I-it's just all --" Hiccup. "- so beautiful, you know? Just warms the heart," she whispers, her voice a little hoarse.

Baekhyun nods, pretending to understand. Chick flicks had never been his favorite, he must admit.

"Look! He's so kind and loving and thoughtful, and ohh~" she swoons, practically falling out of her padded chair. "Do you think you'll ever do anything like that for me?" she asks, eying him sweetly.

He shifts uncomfortably in his chair, gulping nonexistent breaths of air. "I uh, you know..." He stops when the couple in front of them tells them to be quiet. "...Sure?" he finishes quietly, practically feeling his ears burning with embarrassment.

She claps giddily, only to be hushed once more by the now-exasperated couple. "Oops," she mouths apologetically and returns her attention to the movie screen.

Baekhyun watches her face in amusement; he finds all this quite adorable, to be honest.

He decides that the next time they see a chick flick together, he better bring a notebook so he can jot down some ideas.
