Four

Don't Fight the Feeling
Minseok heard the door open and he looked over to Minyoung. The afternoon light was bathing him in golden light and the only thing that she could think of was how handsome he looked. He smiled and stood up from his seat.

"You must be Minyoung, I'm Minseok. I'm going to be your tutor. Let's get started." He pointed at the seat across the table from him and Minyoung forced herself to snap out of it and head towards the chair. She had to remind herself that he was one of Chanyeols friends so it was better to stay away from him. Once she was sat down and had her books out they started to go through the lessons for the last two days. Minseok was very professional about everything and made notes of what she should be studying for upcoming tests.

"So I hear you're in Chanyeol and Sehuns class." Minseok said, trying to make some conversation between the two of them.

"Oh...yeah. They're your friends right?" Minyoung tried answering a math question but Minseok looked it over and corrected where she went wrong.

"Yeah, since we were little. I know they can be a handful." Minseok let out a little chuckle and Minyoung scoffed in agreement. "They're good guys though. I'm sure they would be happy to be friends with you. It can't be easy being the new person." Minseok then explained why she got the wrong answer and Minyoung finally understood it. He was much better at explaining things than her teacher.

"Chanyeol keeps trying to hit on me and I think Sehun hates me." Minyoung answered another math question and got it right. She couldn't help but sit up a little straighter in her chair as she moved on to the next question with confidence.

"Like I said...a handful." After an hour of chatting and making sure that Minyoung understood the fundamentals, it was the end of the study session. As they were packing up their books Minseok got a text that caught his attention. "Hey, I'm starving. Do you want to get some food? I know a restaurant near by that's really good." Minseok smiled brightly and Minyoung was caught off guard. She looked him over one time to make sure he wasn't mocking her or anything before agreeing. "Perfect, let's get going." They walked out of the school together and the sun was almost completely down now. As they walked down the street Minseok made it a point to be the one walking on the side of the sidewalk that was closer to the road. Minyoung's first impression of Minseok was that he was very thoughtful of other people.

He liked to make sure people felt comfortable around him and he was doing a great job because Minyoung felt like she could tell him anything and he would be interested in her. It was an odd feeling; attention. They made it to the restaurant and she saw that it specialized in upscale street food. Minseok walked in and headed straight to a table in the back and Minyoung shuffled after him. They had barely been sitting for a minute before the waitress came over with plates of food that they hadn't even ordered yet. Quickly the table was filled and Minyoung's mouth was filling with saliva as she looked over the delicious smelling food. hung open as she looked up at Minseok who was already staring back at her with a soft expression.

"My brother owns this place." Was all he said and Minyoung nodded her head. He picked up his chopsticks and grabbed some food and once he started eating it was like she had been given the green light because Minyoung dug into that food and thought it was so delicious that she couldn't stop. Minseok continued the conversation and they found themselves laughing and having a great time. When they finished up Minseok offered to pay so Minyoung waited outside for him. It was dark now and Minyoung wondered if she would make it back before her parents got home. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a man leaning against the wall with a cigarette dangling from his lips. They locked eyes but Minyoung spun around so he wouldn't think that he could harass her but it was too late.

"Hey." He called out but Minyoung refused to turn around and acknowledge him. She heard him walking up behind her and she let out a sigh of annoyance. "Are you Minseok's girlfriend?" The man stood beside her and Minyoung's eyes grew wide as she stared at the man. Now that he was more in the light she was shocked by how handsome he was.

"No...he's helping me study." She replied and he nodded his head but had an odd smirk on his face.

"You're not dating but you like him, don't you?" He was straight forward to the point where Minyoung felt a little offended but she just scoffed and shook her head. The man gave her another look over.

"Even though you were having a great time in there with him, why do you look so lonely?" The man took a drag from the cigarette and Minyoung rolled her eyes and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Look, stop making random assumptions about me. You're just a stranger." Minyoung glared at him and he smiled back.

"Yup, very lonely. I can see it in your eyes." He leaned in close and Minyoung froze. Their noses were almost touching and he was staring into her eyes the whole time. He smelled of cigarettes and a deep, musky aftershave. How was this man looking so deeply inside of her. It made Minyoung a little afraid of him.

"Hey Lay. What's up?" Minseok walked out with a little skip in his step. "Minyoung, this is my brother Lay. He owns this place." When the two boys stood side by side there was no way they were related. Lay was lean and lanky where as Minseok was softer and had a thicker frame. He could feel her examining the two of them and Minseok laughed. "My parents adopted him." She gave a little nod and the two brothers smirked in a similar style.

"Minseok, walk her home. It's dark out." Lay nudged Minseok who rolled his eyes.

"Obviously." Minseok nudged Lay back and he went to Minyoungs side.

"Goodbye lonely girl." Lay said before taking another drag of the cigarette and heading inside the restaurant. Minyoung looked back at him and he seemed so cool and grown up.

"I know he's a lot but he's a great older brother." Minseok chuckled and the two of them headed to her home. Again with Minseok the conversation just flowed so naturally that they barely noticed that they had made it to her place in one piece. "I had a good time." Minseok smiled brightly and Minyoung nodded in agreement.

"Oh, before I forget." He pulled out his phone and handed it over to her. "Add your number. That way if you ever have a question about the homework you can just text me." Minseok awkwardly rocked back and forth on his heels.

"Homework...right." Minyoung added her number and handed the phone back.

"Perfect. I'll see you tomorrow." Minseok turned and started to walk away. Minyoung was about to head into her building when she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw an unknown number had texted her.

Make sure to study

Minyoung looked up and saw Minseok was standing there, smiling while waving his arm high in the air. She rolled her eyes but she couldn't help but smile as she waved back. When Minyoung made it back into her apartment the silence was growing more and more annoying so she threw on some music as she cleaned up and got ready for bed. She stared at her phone and wondered what she should save Minseok's number as. Did she go with his first name or was that too casual? Instead she went with just calling him 'tutor' and was satisfied with it. For the first time in a while, Minyoung found herself excited for school the next day.
