Chapter 5

“Should we bring her to the hospital?” Gyuri asks the others.

It is 5:00 in the morning and Suzy isn’t waking up.

Then, Suzy slowly opens her eyes. “Suzy, are you alright?” Gyuri asks.

“What happened?” Suzy asks.

“We saw you unconscious in the kitchen.” AJ said.

“What happened to you in the kitchen?” Hoon asks.

“Doll…” Suzy said.

“Huh? Doll?” they ask.

“The doll is laughing.” She said.

“Are you crazy?” AJ said.

Suzy sat on her bed. “No! I was getting some water when I heard someone said Pst! Then, I felt something jumps on my back and as I grab the hair I saw a doll her eyes are red and she has an evil smile. The last thing I remember I threw the doll in the window.”

“That’s why the window is broken.” Siyoon. “But I don’t see a doll.”

“You are hallucinating.” Gyuri said.

“Can someone of you believe in me?” Suzy said.

“Suzy, there is no such thing as living doll, ok?” Gyuri said.

AJ yawned. “I think I need to sleep.” AJ said.

“Me, too.” Hoon said.

“Mr. Park, you can take a rest now. We can prepare our own breakfast.” Siyoon said.

“Ok. Thank you.” Jinyoung said.

They were about to go when Suzy talks.

“Wait! Are you going to leave me?” Suzy asks.

“Suzy, we are here for couple of hours so we deserve to take some rest, right?” Gyuri said. “Don’t worry. Living dolls don’t exist.”

“But…”

“Nothing will gonna happened.” Gyuri assured her.

They left Suzy alone in the room.

Then, Suzy heard the familiar laughed.

She hides under her blanket and closes her eyes.

Jiyeon woke up early and decided to prepare their breakfasts. She knows that Jinyoung and the others haven’t been able to sleep well because of what happened to Suzy.

She was preparing the food in the table when Jessica came with Tiffany.

“Jiyeon, why didn’t you wake me up? I should help you preparing the foods.” Jessica said.

“No need. I’m almost finished.” Jiyeon said.

One by one arrived in the dining room.

“Uhmm… How’s Suzy?” Jiyeon asks.

“Crazy.” Gyuri said.

“What do you mean?” Jiyeon asks.

“She said that she was attacked by a doll last night.” Hoon said.

“A doll?” she asks. “How could a doll attacked her?”

“That is why I told you she is crazy. Dolls can’t attack humans.” Gyuri said.

Just then, Suzy came. She looks pale.

Then, Suzy saw Jessica’s doll. Her eyes widened and her body began to shiver.

“D-Doll…” Suzy said.

“Not again. Suzy, dolls can’t harm people.” Gyuri said.

To their surprise, Suzy went towards Jessica and try to grab Tiffany.

“Yah! Don’t touch Fany!” Jessica yells.

“I am going to kill this doll!” Suzy said while pulling the doll.

AJ tries to hold Suzy.

They thought Suzy looks like being possessed.

AJ holds Suzy’s waist and carries her away from Jessica.

“Yah! Let me go! I am going to kill that evil doll!” Suzy said.

Jessica hugs her doll tightly to protect.

“AJ, bring Suzy to her room. She is getting insane.” Gyuri said.

AJ brings Suzy out of the dining room.

After the incident in the dining room, Jessica went to the garden to have some time alone with her doll.

“Fany, why is Suzy mad at you? Did you done something wrong to her?” Jessica asks her doll as if it was talking.

“Tiffany can’t do that. Suzy was just acting crazy because of what happened to her last night.” Jiyeon said.

She sat on the bench beside Jessica.

“But what is really happened to her?” Jessica asks.

“I don’t know. Maybe she is just imagining things.” Jiyeon said.

Jiyeon saw Siyoon walking towards the woods.

She stands up.

“Why?” Jessica asks.

“I need to go.” Jiyeon said.

“Where?” Jessica asks.

“Somewhere.” Jiyeon said and went to the woods.

“Siyoon!” Jiyeon called while running.

Siyoon stops walking and look at his back. He saw Jiyeon running towards him.

“What?” Siyoon asks.

“I need to ask you something.” She said.

“What?” he asks.

“About what happened to Suzy last night.” She said.

“I don’t know what really happened to her.” He said.

“She said that a doll attack her.” She said.

“It is hard to prove it because we don’t see a doll in the kitchen nor outside the broken window.” He said.

“But is it possible that dolls can attack humans?” she asks.

“No. Dolls are not alive. Don’t tell me you believe that dolls can harm us?” he said.

“Not at all. But I was just wondering.” She said.

“Dolls like Chucky don’t exists.” He said.

“But what if Suzy is telling the truth?” she said.

“Do you actually believe her?” he asks.

“Aniyo. But will you gonna believe in me if I tell you that I always dream this place? I mean, every once a week when I dream that I am here and I always see a doll in my dream.” She said.

“Dreams are just dreams. They are not real.” He said.

“I really feel like there is something wrong in this place.” She said.

“Some people might think like that if they are in a different place.” He said and started to walk.

“Where are you going?” she asks.

“Walking around. Don’t try to follow me because I wanted to be alone.” He said and left her.

Jiyeon is still on the place where Siyoon left her. She was thinking all what he said to her.

“Is it true that my dreams are nothing but only dreams?” she asks herself.

“Not all dreams are just dreams.” Someone said.

She looks around trying to find who that was.

“Who are you? Show yourself.” She said.

Then, someone appeared from behind of the tree.

Jiyeon knew her. It was the witch doctor.

“Sohee, right?” she said.

Sohee nodded. She was walking towards her.

Jiyeon noticed the basket with a doll.

“Y-You said that not all dreams are just dreams.” she said.

“That’s right.” Sohee said while walking around her. “Sometimes, dreams can show you what will happen in the future.”

“Will happen in the future?” she asks.

“Ne. It is also like giving a warning.” Sohee said.

She felt cold and she doesn’t know why. Sohee is still walking around her.

Is it possible that her dream is giving her a warning?

“Jiyeon?” someone said.

They saw Jessica holding Tiffany.

“Jessica, what are you doing here?” she asks.

“Suzy saw me in the garden and she tried to kill Fany again so I run away.” Jessica said.

Sohee approached Jessica but her eyes are on Tiffany.

Sohee touches Tiffany’s face. “Is she your doll?” Sohee asks.

“Ne. Her name is Tiffany.” Jessica said.

“You have a lovely doll. Her face is beautiful and also her eyes.” Sohee said.

“Thank you.” Jessica said. “My mom gave it-”

“Jessica, let’s go back to the house.” Jiyeon said and pull Jessica away.

She doesn’t know why but she is sensing something wrong to the witch doctor.

“Jiyeon, what’s wrong? And who is that woman?” Jessica asks as they enter the house.

“She is the witch doctor.” Jiyeon said. They sat on the sofa in the living room.

“Ah…” Jessica said.

Then, AJ and Hoon came. They came from the entertainment room.

“Wanna join us playing billiards?” AJ asks.

“I don’t play billiards.” Jiyeon coldly said.

“How about you, Sica?” Hoon asks.

“I don’t know how to play.” Jessica said.

“We can teach you.” AJ said.

“Really? Ok!” Jessica said. “Jiyeon, wanna join?”

“I’ll stay in my bedroom.” Jiyeon said and went towards the stairs.

She is going in her room when she saw Suzy holding Yoona.

“What are you doing in my room?” she asks.

“I am going to kill this doll.” Suzy said.

“How can you kill a doll when it isn’t alive in the first place?” she said. “Give me my doll.”

“No! I am going to throw it in the lake.” Suzy said.

Suzy runs towards the terrace and throws the doll in the lake.

“Yoona!” she shouts. She went to the terrace and saw Yoona in the lake.

She quickly left the room and went outside the house.

Without thinking she swims in the lake to get the doll.

“Yoona.” she said as she finally holds the doll.

When she was about to swims back when she felt a hand holding her right foot. The hand was pulling her down.

“Ah! Help!” she shouts.

But no one can hear her.

Jiyeon is still fighting. She doesn’t know what is going on but she knows whoever pulling her foot wants to drown her.

She is losing her strength. She closes her eyes and let someone pulls her to the depth of the lake. She is still holding Yoona with her left hand.

She didn’t know that someone pulls her right hand and saves her.

Chapter 6

After walking around the forest, Siyoon decided to go back inside the house.

He is now passing by the lake when he heard someone.

He looks on the lake and saw Jiyeon drowning. He didn’t think more and saves her.

As he swims closer to Jiyeon he grab her hand and pull her towards the side of the lake.

“Jiyeon, wake up!” Siyoon said.

He do the CPR to Jiyeon until Jiyeon spit the water she accidentally drank.

Siyoon carries her and brings her to her room.

Jessica saw them and follows them.

“What happened?” Jessica asks.

“Can you change her clothes?” Siyoon asks.

“What happened to her?” Jessica asks.

“I saw her drowning in the lake.” Siyoon said. “Knock me in my room if she wakes up.”

“Ne.” Jessica said.

Jiyeon is walking in the woods barefooted. She doesn’t know where she is going. It was dark and all she can hear was the wind.

“Jiyeon…” someone said.

She looks around and saw no one.

Then, she found a light. She follows it and the next thing she knew was she is in a house.

“It is our house when I was a kid.” She said to herself.

“Little Jiyeon is home!” a girl said as the door opens.

Jiyeon looks at the girl and it was her when she was a kid. She knows what will happen next.

Her umma will come out from the kitchen wearing an apron and smiles.

“How’s school, my baby?” her umma asks.

“Great!” Little Jiyeon said.

Jiyeon was watching them. “Umma…” she called but as if her umma didn’t hear her.

Then, her unnie came from the living room. “Eunjung unnie!” Little Jiyeon said.

“Oh! My favorite little sister is here. How’s school?” Eunjung said and hugs her little sister.

“Great!” Little Jiyeon said.

The scene that was Jiyeon saw was the ordinary day when she was at home with her family.

“Umma… Unnie…” she said. She can’t help but cry when she remembers them.

“Don’t cry.” Someone said.

Jiyeon turns around and saw a girl that has the same age as hers.

“Who are you?” she asks.

The girl was just staring at her. “Don’t cry.”

Jiyeon thought that the girl is familiar. She doesn’t know where she saw her.

“Don’t cry. I’ll protect you.” The girl said.

“Jiyeon…”

“Jiyeon, wake up. Why are you crying?” Jessica said.

Jiyeon slowly opens her eyes. “J-Jessica…”

“Ne, it is me.” Jessica said. “I’m glad you are awake.”

“What happened?” she asks.

“Wait! I’ll call Siyoon.” Jessica said and left her alone in her room.

She sat on the bed and saw her doll on her side. The doll’s clothes were change.

Then, Siyoon and Jessica enter the room.

“Are you alright?” Siyoon asks.

She nodded.

“What happened? Why are you in the lake?” Siyoon asks.

“Suzy threw my doll in the lake and I swim to save my doll.” She said.

“You know how to swim, right?” Siyoon asks.

“Ne.” she said.

“Then, why are you drowning?” Siyoon asks.

Jiyeon tries to remember what happened. “S-Someone was pulling my foot under the water.” She said.

“What?” Siyoon and Jessica said.

“Ne. Someone pulls my right foot.” She said.

“Jiyeon, I have something to show you.” Jessica said. She removes the blanket covering Jiyeon’s lower body and points her right foot. “I notice it when I am changing your clothes.”

They look at her right foot and saw 2 red marks. It was like little hands that holding her foot.

“Where did you get that?” Siyoon asks.

“I- I don’t know.” She said.

“It was like a doll’s hands.” Jessica said.

“Jessica, it is impossible.” Siyoon said.

“But Suzy said that a doll attacked her last night.” Jessica said.

“What’s going on?” Jinyoung asks. He is standing on the door.

Jiyeon quickly covers her foot.

“Nothing.” Jiyeon said.

“I am leaving and I’ll be back tonight.” he said.

“Where are you going?” Jessica asks.

“I will fetch Ms. Taeyeon in the airport.” he said.

“She is coming?” Jiyeon asks.

“Ne.” he said. “I need to go now.”

“Take care, Mr. Park.” They said.

Siyoon went to the library to search something. Since Jinyoung isn’t in the house, Siyoon is free to look around.

“I should find it before Mr. Park comes back.” He said to himself. He is looking all the books in the library.

“Siyoon you are here. I’ve been looking all over for you.” Gyuri said as she went inside the library.

“What do you want?” Siyoon asks.

“Nothing. I just wanted to see you.” Gyuri said.

“We always see each other because we are staying in the same house.” Siyoon said.

“You know what? Acting like you don’t like me doesn’t mean that I will give up on you. I know that you like me.” Gyuri said.

“What made you think that?” he asks.

“All the boys wanted me and you are lucky because I like you, too.” Gyuri said.

“Not all the boys like you because I am one of them who don’t like you. Even you stand there I won’t even look at you because you are not my type.” Siyoon said and left her in the library.

“Yah! How dare you to say that?!” Gyuri shouts. She can’t believe she rejected by a guy.

Jiyeon prepares their dinner despite of what happened to her in the lake.

She looks at the window and it is dark outside. And it looks like it is going to rain.

“Jiyeon, is the dinner ready?” Jessica asks.

“Ne.” she said.

“Where’s Mr. Park?” Suzy asks while they are eating their dinner. She is acting normal now.

“He went to the airport to fetch the owner of this house. They probably on their way back here.” AJ said.

“Ah…” Suzy said.

Jiyeon, Jessica and Siyoon stay in the living room while the others are in the entertainment room.

After a while, Suzy went back to her room.

It was exactly 11:00 pm when they decided to go to their rooms and sleep.

The next morning…

Jiyeon was the first one who wakes up early. She went to the kitchen to get some drink when she saw a strange girl. She must be Taeyeon.

“Oh! Good morning!” Taeyeon said. Taeyeon has a sweet smile.

“Good morning.” She said.

“I’m Kim Taeyeon, the owner of this villa.” Taeyeon said. She’s putting the bacons on the plate.

“Jiyeon.” She said.

“From CCU, right?” Taeyeon said.

“Ne.” she said.

She sat on the stool and watch Taeyeon cooking.

“Want some coffee?” Taeyeon asks.

“I can do it myself.” She said.

“How’s staying in my villa? Are you enjoying?” Taeyeon asks while cooking some eggs.

“Ne.” she said. She wants to ask Taeyeon if there is something strange going on here but she is afraid to ask.

“It is ok if you ask me anything.” Taeyeon said as if she reads Jiyeon’s mind.

“Good morning!” Jessica greets as she enters the kitchen.

“Good morning!” Taeyeon greets.

“You must be the owner of this villa.” Jessica said.

“Ne. I’m Kim Taeyeon.” Taeyeon said.

“I’m Jessica.” Jessica said. “From SMU.”

“Ah…” Taeyeon said. “Can you help me two to prepare the table?”

“Ne!” Jessica said.

Jiyeon and Jessica prepare the dining table.

Taeyeon met the other visitors. “After our breakfast, I want to talk to all of you in the living room.”

“Where’s Mr. Park?” Hoon asks.

“He left early this morning to fetch someone.” Taeyeon said.

They continue their breakfast.

After the breakfast they all gathered in the living room.

“Hope you have a good time in here. I’m sorry if I didn’t have the chance to welcome you the first time you arrived here. I was in Hawaii for a vacation.” Taeyeon said.

They were interrupted by Taeyeon’s handphone.

“Yoboseo?” Taeyeon said as she answers the call.

“Ms. Taeyeon, I’m sorry. The car got a problem while on our way there.” It was Mr. Park.

“Is that so? Do you need an assistant?” Taeyeon asks.

“Ne.”

“Got it. I’ll send someone there to help you.” Taeyeon said. “This is embarrassing but is there someone of you knows how to fix a car? Mr. Park got a problem with his car.”

“I do.” Siyoon said.

“Great. There is another car in the garage and you can use it.” Taeyeon said. “Follow me so I can give you the keys.”

“Can I come with you?” Jiyeon asks.

“If that is what you want.” Siyoon said.

“We will continue our conversation after they get back.” Taeyeon said to the others as she gives the keys to Siyoon.

Siyoon and Jiyeon quickly left.

After an hour of driving, Siyoon and Jiyeon saw Jinyoung outside the car.

“Mr. Park!” Jiyeon called.

“Oh! I’m glad you are here.” Jinyoung said.

Siyoon quickly checks the car’s engine.

“It won’t take long.” Siyoon said.

Jiyeon noticed a guy inside the car.

“Mr. Park, who is he?” Jiyeon asks.

“Jiyeon, can you help me for a sec?” Siyoon said.

“Ne.” Jiyeon said and quickly went towards Siyoon.

Taeyeon was looking inside her cabinet and gets a big box. She will gonna use it later once she meet all the people she needed to meet.

“Only one more person to go and I were able to reveal my secrets.” She said to herself.
