Chapter Seven

All tied up

Their sleeping arrangement was hectic to say the least. Due to living alone, Hyojin only had one bedroom making the only other room availble the living room, which was fine with the pair as all they wanted to do was pass out from how exhausted getting kidnapped had been. However they weren't prepare to face the fact that there was only one mattress which they had to share. Jibeom immediately told Suri he would take one for the team, which was immediately rebutted by Suri saying she felt bad for cutting his hands earlier that day and offered to sleep on the floor instead.

"Just share the mattress, you won't die." Were Hyojin's final words before she left the room ready to turn in for the night. This cut their argument short and they stared at each other, silently agreeing on the suggestion, but neither was brave enough to verbally say it. Slowly, Jibeom got into bed and that's when Suri realized that the mattress was far too small for them to sleep in without them having to snuggle up to each other.  Jibeom stared at Suri, not sure if he wanted what he was about to say to be said but the words came out anyway.

"Let's just cuddle."

She stared at him and once again her face shifted into annoyance.

"Jibeom how many more pranks are you going to pull before you realize they're immature and selfish." She started off, looking directly at him to watch for his reaction.

"Pranks? You think I confessed my undying love to you as a prank? Is that why you've been mad all day? You thought it was a prank? Suri I like you. You're cute, funny, hard headed and firm. You know what you want in life and every time you look at me I feel like my whole chest is going to explode. It was far from being a prank." He basically whisper yelled at her before turning away from her.

He was mad. Mad at himself for not realizing that this would be an outcome. Mad at her for thinking that any of his feelings would be part of a prank. His mind was running wild, thinking about all the things they had been doing together for the past few weeks. The whole time they were rehearsing, Jibeom felt a sense of accomplishment. He felt lighter, happier because he thought he saw the real Suri. The girl who glares then hides her giggling when a bad joke is made. The girl who, no matter the challenge, would finish the task at hand before moving onto anything else. The girl who is too stubborn to realize that she's too short to reach the books on the top shelf in the library and would try to climb, even if it meant getting trampled to-

"I'm sorry." Were the words that broke him out of his trance.

"I didn't think that it was real because I was so used to seeing you as the cheeky, annoying, childish- okay you get the picture. I would have never realized that you'd like me."

Her words came out soft, like she was speaking to herself instead of him. As if she didn't want him to hear, but he did. Before he could turn around, she had s her arms around his waist, snuggling him from the back. Jibeom sighed, out of sheer relief. Was this finally the end? Were they finally going to live happily ever after? He couldn't help the smile that was creeping onto his lips and his hand moved to take hers. He felt so warm, peaceful. He never wanted this moment to end.

"To tell you the truth, I kinda had a crush on you during the first year of highschool. Everything was fresh and new. You walked in and I couldn't help but take my eyes off you, but neither could the rest of the girls in the class honestly. After a while I realized I didn't stand a chance so I gave up. That's when you started teasing me and thats when I confirmed it that you were just another immature little brat." Suri explained, the ending making Jibeom choke on air.

Jibeom opted to leave the warmth that Suri was providing to turn and face her. She had a little pout on her lips as she watched him settled back into bed, this time he was the one wrapping her up into his arms. She snuggled in closer to him, burying her face into his chest, loving the way he smelled. He felt like home, and after the events of today, it was exactly what she needed.

"What does this mean for us?" He asked, his words coming out as a whisper. When he didn't hear a reply, he looked down only to find out that she had fallen asleep. He smiled, placing a kiss on her head before falling into a deep slumber.

The sun rose, welcoming the new day. Suri's eye slowly fluttered open as the sunlight was hitting her face from the open window and she couldn't help but groan. She sat up, stretching her arms above her as a yawn came. Blinking slowly, she started to remember the events of yesterday and a small blush crept up onto her cheeks. She couldn't help it, it was the first time she'd cuddled anyone that wasn't from her childhood. She quickly looked around, realizing that Jibeom was nowhere to be seen. Panic started to rise but her worries were put to rest when Hyojin walked into the house with Suri's clothes in hand, letting the girl know that Jibeom was running a small errand for her.

He had gotten up an hour earlier, a nightmare waking him up and as much as he wanted to, he couldn't fall back asleep. He got out of bed slowly, making sure to not wake the sleeping girl up and saw Hyojin outside, taking down the laundry she had washed for them yesterday.

"Oh you're awake, here's your clothes." She said as she handed them to him, but quickly grabbed his hand as he was walking away. "Could you also do me a small favour? I need someone to check if the food bowl I left in the back is empty or not. I lost my cat and she hasn't come home in 3 days. Just let me know if there's still food in there."

Jibeom quickly nodded and let Hyojin know that he would change out of her clothes before leaving, just because it felt way too breezy for comfort to be walking around like this.

Hyojin returned to the house and placed Suri's clothes on the table as she watched her wake up, asking her if she could help her with making breakfast, in which she happily obliged. She got up and freshened up before returning into the living room. As she walked across, there was a knock on the door which the old lady hesitantly answered as she didn't have any relatives who came to visit her. However, all her worries came true as a knife was pointed directly at her as she was forced back into the house. The invader shut the door behind him as he spotted Suri in the kitchen, the latter's eyes growing wide in shock. She had to find Jibeom.

The male was taking his time to get home, trying to enjoy a bit of the scenery before they had to start walking again. He started whistling as he turned the corner which abruptly stopped as the face he never wanted to see again was in front of him, a knife pointed directly at his chest. Before he knew it, the man had taken him into a choke hold, knife still pointing at his chest. Jibeom knew he shouldn't struggle but he wanted to make sure Suri was safe. He groaned a bit as his arms shifted to hold onto the attackers arm, but before he could do anything, the door slid open and his eyes caught sight of something he never wanted to see. Suri with a knife to as tears were flowing from her eyes with no indication of stopping.

"Got 'em back, boss."
