The Kings Bride
There was a slight tap on the microphone and a tall woman dressed in a black, silk dress was asking everyone in the room to find their seats as dinner was to start in a few minutes. The people talking to Jongin and his father slowly drifted away and the waiters began bringing out plates pilled high with incredible looking food. Jongin ed his suit jacket and sat down beside Jinhee, giving her a little wink as the plates were put in front of them first. Everyone had a expertly cooked piece of steak with a lobster tail covered in garlic butter and herbs. Jinhee's plate was different in the fact that instead of lobster she had the steak with crispy potatoes that were slathered in melted cheese and herbs.

"I asked the chef to make you something different, hope it's okay." Jongin whispered in her ear and the hairs on the back of her neck stood up as his breath brushed against her ear. She gave him a little nod and took a large bite of the potatoes. It was the best thing she had ever eaten in her life and when Jongin saw the excitement in her eyes he couldn't help but laugh. Jinhee felt her heart flutter as she saw his first real smile of the night and it was because of her. "If you like it that much I will get the recipe from him."

"Yes please." Jinhee said as she continued eating. Everyone at the table talked among themselves except for Jongin's father who seemed too distracted by his phone to realize that there were other people sitting with him. After dinner was done, the plates were cleared and the awards started to get handed out. It took almost an hour for all of the awards to be handed out and Jinhee was confused as to why Jongin didn't get a single one despite how much work he appeared to do. "Why didn't you get a prize?" Jinhee muttered to Jongin who once again leaned in unnecessarily close.

"How would it look if the owners son won an award?" He leaned back in his seat and offered his hand to her. The woman announced that the ballroom was opening up for them. Two large doors on the side of the room opened up and music poured into the room, drawing couples in. Jinhee took his hand and the two of them left towards it. What neither of them saw was Jongin's mother nudge her husband and point out the two of them holding hands. Without hesitation, Jongin brought them to the middle of the dance floor and spun her tight against his body. His hand slid down from her waist to the small of her back and Jinhee tried to pull away but he was holding on too tightly. "Follow my lead." He said as the music started up and he whisked her around the dance floor.

Although she had taken a few lessons as a child, Jinhee was struggling to keep up with him and not embarrass the both of them. It as clear that Jongin was a talented dancer as every motion was seamless and well executed. Couples started joining them on the dance floor but more people chose to watch them instead as Jongin twirled Jinhee around the floor and lifted her off her feet. It shocked her how strong he was since he picked her up with no problem. Once the song ended and transitioned into another one, Jongin seemed ready to start again but a slender hand tapped on his shoulder. He turned around and standing there was a gorgeous woman with long black hair which framed her small face. Her eyes were piercing as they stared into Jongin's and he couldn't help but catch a glimpse at her plump red lips that smiled when she knew that all of his attention was on her.

"Krystal." Jongin said as he dropped his hands from Jinhee who felt like a small child compared to the woman in front of her.

"Dance with me." She said in a determined voice and Jongin hesitated when he looked back at Jinhee who was awkwardly fidgeting with her bracelet. Just then a hand reached out and grabbed hers, then pulling her towards them.

"May I have the next dance?" Kyungsoo didn't wait for an answer as he put his hand on Jinhee's waist and took her away. Jongin puffed up his chest and took a step towards them but Krystal grabbed his arm and pulled herself into him.

"Don't make a scene." Krystal said and Jongin forced himself to look away from Jinhee and begin dancing with her. "It's been a long time."

"That happens when two people break up." Jongin made sure to keep his loosely holding onto her waist as he felt Krystal's gaze burning a hole into him.

"This isn't the first time we've broken up, yet you go and get engaged to some woman I've never even heard of."

"I don't need your approval."

"No, but we both know that you prefer me over her." Krystal pressed herself against his chest and Jongin felt himself growing weak as the woman he claimed was his first love was begging for attention. On the other side of the room, Kyungsoo and Jinhee were swaying back and forth as they were both awkwardly hanging in the silence.

"I know Jongin probably warned you about me, but I'm not a bad guy I promise. He's only worried because we've known each other our whole lives and doesn't want me spilling any of his secrets to you." Kyungsoo watched as curiosity flashed across Jinhee's face but she forced herself to look back at Jongin who was dancing with the beautiful woman. They both looked as if they were made for each other as their striking features complimented each other and they flowed naturally around the floor. "Her name is Krystal Jung." Kyungsoo pointed out as he watched Jinhee painfully look at her fiance.

"They seem close." Jinhee looked away from Jongin and felt a sinking in the pit of her stomach.

"They are famous for their on-again off-again relationship. It's been like that for the past five years. She's a model and travels a lot for fashion shows so they don't see each other a lot but they always seem to find each other when she's back in the country. But last I heard is Jongin called it quits when he found out she had another guy on the side and then he found you." Kyungsoo felt guilty after telling Jinhee this as the hurt behind her eyes was too unbearable to watch. "Want a drink?"

"Yes, thank you." They stopped dancing and they headed to the first room where the bar was. Since most people were either dancing or talking to other people, it was easier to wave down the bartender and get some drinks.

"I'll have a tequila shot, what do you want?" Kyungsoo pulled out his wallet and waved around a fifty dollar bill to get the young bartenders attention.

"Same for me." Jinhee wanted to images of Jongin and Krystal gazing into each others eyes as they floated around the dance floor together. Kyungsoo whistled with excitement and the bartender brought them two shots.

"Cheers." They both lifted their drinks and poured it down their throats. Jinhee cringed and was sure she was making a disgusting face but she didn't care. "It tastes so bad." Kyungsoo groaned and the two of them looked at each other before ordering another shot. The second song ended and Jongin quickly dropped his hands from Krystal and looked around the dance floor for a sign of Jinhee or Kyungsoo but couldn't see them. Panic started to set in and he started to walk away before he felt Krystal grab him again.

"Why do you keep trying to run away? I've missed you." Krystal looked at him with large, sad eyes and a quivering lower lip. "Take me home." She whispered and Jongin pulled himself away from her.

"Call yourself a cab, don't bother me or my fiancee ever again." He straightened out his jacket before storming away leaving Krystal boiling with anger as she wasn't used to rejection. When Jongin finally found Kyungsoo and Jinhee at the bar they were already a few drinks in and laughing with each other. He watched her laugh and reach out to touch his arm as he said something apparently so funny that it was causing her to struggle to catch her breath.

"What's so funny?" Jongin came up beside Jinhee and the two of them stopped laughing immediately.

"It was nothing...just a joke." Jinhee wiped a tear that was coming from the corner of her eye. She stumbled slightly and caught the bar to stable herself. Jongin noticed the line of shot glasses in front of them and a deep feeling of anger rose from his chest as he wrapped his arm around Jinhee.

"Come on, I'm taking you home." Jongin guided her away despite her protests that she was finally having a good time and wanted to stay. The valet brought his car around and Jongin, rather roughly, helped Jinhee into the passenger seat and rushed into the drivers seat before she could get out. They sped off the silence hanging between the two of them was making the drive seem longer. The GPS beeped, alerting Jongin that there was a large accident on the way to Jinhee's and that it would take him almost an extra hour to just get around it. He groaned in annoyance then looked over to Jinhee who was barely awake and he was afraid to leave her alone for the night. "I'm taking you back to my place, we're only a few blocks away." Jinhee rolled her eyes as she rested her forehead against the cool glass that was helping bring the world back in focus as the alcohol seemed to all be hitting her at once. Jongin parked his car and grabbed Jinhee, guiding her into the elevator. She pulled her arm away once the doors closed and glared at him.

"Don't ever touch me like that again." She jabbed her finger into his chest as he pushed the penthouse button and the elevator rushed to the top level.

"I told you not to be alone with him and then not only do you not listen to me but then you get drunk around him." Jongin leaned against the wall as he watched Jinhee slightly sway side to side, her cheeks blushed red.

"You can't tell me who I can't be friends with while you're feeling up your ex-girlfriend in front of all your investors and coworkers." Jinhee shot back and Jongin heavily sighed and rubbed his eyes out of frustration. "Yeah, Kyungsoo told me everything. You two are famous for hooking up whenever she decides to pop back up. Are you sure you want me to come over or is she going to be sitting there waiting for you." Jinhee stormed out of the elevator once the doors opened and she was standing in a large hallway that led to a large black door at the end. Jongin figured out that when Jinhee got drunk she became painfully blunt and it was something he was going to have to learn to deal with because she was never like this.

"Did he tell you we broke up because she was cheating on me?" Jongin followed after her as she made her way to his front door and she fumbled with the lock.

"Yeah; well are you going to turn around and cheat on me with her? I mean our relationship isn't real anyways so go ahead and break my heart if you want." She angrily pulled on the handle when it wasn't opening for her. "Guess I was the only one feeling anything between us. I can't compete with Krystal so just run back to her now if you want." Jongin's hand slammed on the door beside her face which made Jinhee flinch.

"Stop talking." Jongin growled before spinning Jinhee around and pinning her against the door. Before she could open and say something else, Jongin kissed her. Without a moments hesitation, Jinhee kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck as his hands ran up and down her hips. Fire burned between them, the passion so hot it felt like an eternity passed between them as they kissed. They only stopped when Jinhee's phone was ringing in her purse. Both of them were breathing heavily as they stared at each other for another moment before Jinhee pulled out her phone and saw her mothers name flash across the screen.

"Hello?" She answered the phone and Jongin could hear panicked yelling on the other end. "Mom? What's going on? Where are you?" In an instant Jinhee sobered up. "Okay, I'll be there as fast as I can. Don't leave, got it?" Jinhee hung up and tears instantly started pouring down her face. "My dad had a heart attack."
