Chapter 1: AHH!!!!!

What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas....?

AHH!!!!!-----Chapter 1

“I don’t think this is a good idea,” I told him, who was blankly staring at me.

“Yea well the thing about marriage is that I have a say in this, and I say we tell them, so let’s move it,” he replied.

I groaned.

I wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for one stupid drunken night.

You know how they say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Yea…well that’s only if you are one of the lucky ones, unlike me, Kim Yoobin, because what happened in Vegas is now going to be known by the whole world, and what a way to start but with my parents.

You see, yesterday I woke up, with a beautiful ring on my left hand and found myself half next to none other than one of the Rising Gods of the East, Kim JaeJoong.

Turns out that while JaeJoong and I tried to stop our lovely leaders from getting married and committing a grave mistake, we in turn went on ahead and did it…the thing is Kim JaeJoong and I hate each other, I repeat, we hate each other.

After sorting out what happened because of one drunken night, we called our managers who then called a judge to get an annulment, but thanks to the Rising God of Hell we weren’t allowed to.

Even though I’m one hundred percent sure that the only ludicrous thing we did was get married, he kept saying that we had consummated the marriage, therefore the Judge informed us that because of the brainless wedding video she was obligating us to continue our marriage for six months, after those six months were over we could come back and get a divorce if we wanted to.

Our managers then called our bosses, basically Lee Soo Man and JYP to inform them of our new situation…they then decided that we might as well use this to our advantage. To make things more legit we had to notify our parents of our nuptial, the thing is I’M ALREADY ENGAGED!

So, do you understand why I don’t want to inform my parents?

“Yoobin wake up, we need to do this, so get with the program Slowpoke,” JaeJoong said.

AH!

This is what I’m married to!

I rang the doorbell to my parents’ lovely estate in San Jose, California.

A minute or so later, we heard the door opening. I looked up to find, the butler looking at us, slightly confused. I would be too, since I didn’t announce we were coming over.

“Miss Yoobin, please come in. Your parents are not in at the moment,” he said.

I nodded.

Hey, we tried, not my fault they weren’t in.

“We’ll wait,” JaeJoong announced, as if he could read my thoughts. Grabbing my hand we walked into the foyer following Mr. Yang, the butler, to the living room.

After waiting two hours of JaeJoong clutching my hand, my mother walked into the living room running towards me.

I stood up disentangling myself away from JaeJoong, who reluctantly let go of me.

“Umma!” I hugged her.

“Yoobin, what are you doing here?” she asked frantically hugging me and then inspecting me to see if I was okay.

“I’m on vacation,” I mumbled out when I saw my father’s large figure come into the room.

“Appa,” I bowed.

“Yoobin,” he stated. “And young man who my daughter hasn’t introduced.”

I looked at the direction he pointed to find a ninety degree bowed JaeJoong. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Appa, Umma I want you to meet someone,” I said. “This is-”

“Kim JaeJoong!” My mother screeched when he raised his head.

Oh God, don’t tell me my mother is a fan too…?

“Yes Umma, he is Kim JaeJoong from Dong Bang Shin Ki,” I took a deep breath, “He is also my,” I glanced at JaeJoong, “My husband.”

There it was out on the open now. All I have to do now is wait for it to sink in and then for someone to kill me.

“He is your what?” my father’s voice bellowed.

I flinched.

“Kim Yoobin, we had a deal. How many times did you beg me to allow you to audition for this preposterous life you lead now? I said okay, but you didn’t hold your end of the bargain,” glaring at JaeJoong, “How long?”

“Since-”

“I’m talking to the boy, can he not speak?”

“We eloped on the day before yesterday, Sir,” JaeJoong answered, while I winced at his choice of words.

“Eloped? Kim Yoobin-”

“Appa it was not planned and ‘eloped’ is probably not the wisest word to describe our predicament. I was trying to stop SunYe from getting married to YunHo, but somewhere along there I got drunk and somehow woke up yesterday married to this,” I interjected before he said anything too harsh for me to handle.

My father paced back and forth for five, long, dreadful minutes. He sat on his big armchair, motioning for us to sit also.

“What about Ryo?”

“Ryo, I thought you were dating Seung Hyun,” JaeJoong, like the big mouth he is, revealed.

“Is this Choi Seung Hyun, from Big Bang?” my dear mother asked finally speaking up.

I nodded.

“I have not spoken to Ryo about this since it just happened. We tried to get our marriage annulled, but the Judge wasn’t very cooperative. She sentenced us to stay in this marriage minimum six months, but JYP-nim would like for me and JaeJoong to stay married for one year.”

I think I had somehow won my father over, that is until I mentioned the one year contract with SM that JYP had apparently already signed and I was now forced to abide by.

My father stood up and walked straight towards us and began to shake me.

I could hear my mother’s gasp and could see JaeJoong’s confused countenance from the corner of my eye.

“You have always been a disappointing child to this family. The first thing I told you when I allowed you to gallop about to conquer your dream is that marriage, dating, and love were not to be discussed in this home. You gave me your word about marrying Ryo, so what am I suppose to tell his family now?” Glaring at JaeJoong, “Am I suppose to tell them my incompetent daughter got drunk, and married a low life in Vegas?”

“He is not a low life Appa,” I muttered looking up at him.

Appa raised his hand up but stopped in mid air.

“Not a low life…oh that’s right because you are leading the same life as his…you know where this life is going to lead you? Right next to your selfish brother,” Appa spat.

The tears I hadn’t released were now falling.

“With all your respect Mr. Kim, I don’t think you should be talking like that to her. She, we, understand you are upset, but telling her things that you’ll regret later on…please calm down,” JaeJoong spoke, attempting to be calm, but his fisted hands betrayed him.

My father begun to laugh, an outrageous laugh, “You dare to tell me how to treat my daughter!”

“No, I’m telling you how to treat my wife,” JaeJoong snapped.

I looked up to find, my father and JaeJoong, throwing daggers at each other.

“Stop it right now,” Umma voiced. “You are going to apologize to our daughter right now and to this fine, young man.”

Appa and I scoffed.

“You are going to listen to her plan; you should know that as part of this household Yoobin-ah always has a plan like we taught her.”

I stared at my Umma, she wasn’t one to meddle in these kinds of affairs, and by that I mean she usually sided with Appa about me dating or Appa losing his temper.

“You want me to apologize? Alright, I’ll apologize for ever making that stupid agreement-”

“I said stop it. First you almost strike her, then you spoke badly about Shin, and now you are treating her like an idiot. So either you apologize to our only living child or you could kiss this marriage goodbye. I am tired of you demeaning her, look at her, she has made a name for herself without your help,” Umma declared, holding her ground.

Appa turned around to look at Umma. He stared at her for a while, looked at us then back at her.

I knew that Appa loved Umma with all his heart, even if he didn’t express it often, so I knew he would do it, but somehow that didn’t comfort me a lot.

“Yoobin, I want to express the greatest regret in not listening to you and ‘demeaning’ you. I also ask for your forgiveness JaeJoong-sshi, I can see that you were brought up correctly, for you stood up for the woman that you do not love, please continue to look after my daughter throughout this ONE YEAR LONG marriage,” Appa apologized. “So what is your plan?”

I wiped any tears away, “I have to stay married to him for a year, but after that we can get divorced, I will still marry Ryo. I gave you my word, so don’t worry because I’m not backing out. I will also discuss this with Ryo later on; we are supposed to talk tonight anyways, so I might as well tell him.”

“A year is an awfully long time, Yoobin. What happens if you develop feelings for this chap?”

Chap…?

“Don’t worry Appa, JaeJoong and I don’t think of each other like that. Besides after we talk to his parents I won’t be seeing JaeJoong for five months, since the girls and I will be touring in the United States and DBSK will either be at South Korea or Japan promoting their own album, right JaeJoong?”

JaeJoong nodded.

“Do you talk, lad?”

Lad..?

“Sorry he has been watching too many movies this week and it seems he has picked up some new vocabulary,” Umma said, explaining Appa’s diction.

JaeJoong chuckled over my parents arguing over my father’s new ‘happening’ words.

I guess this didn’t turn out too bad, I mean JaeJoong defended me and showed that he could be decent and not just a womanizer.

“Can you imagine us fighting over our children thirty years from now or sooner depending on when you want to get started with them,” JaeJoong muttered, winking at me.

And there went that delusional minute in which I thought he was human.

“There is something you should know Yoobin,” JaeJoong stated once we arrived in South Korea. “My parents have already met Bom and they like her, and Umma knows that I was going to propose to her since the ring you are wearing belonged my great-grandma.”

Oh great, he tells me this now and not in the airplane so I could’ve come up with topics or something to say to the woman when she begins to question why he is married to me instead of her.

“Why didn’t you tell me this earlier?”

“Same reason you didn’t tell me you’re rich and that your dad is one tough cookie,” he answered knocking.

As soon as he knocked, we heard people whispering, and not even a minute later the door opened.

There stood a petite woman with long, silky black hair, and creamy skin smiling at me, “You must be KIM Yoobin. It is so nice to meet you, you can call me Umma,” hugging me.

I blankly stared at the woman, my mother in law, looking like a blowfish.

“Umma, how did you know?” asked JaeJoong taking me away from his mother and bringing me into his chest. I quickly bowed so she wouldn’t find me impertinent.

“Oh Joongie, you finally did it! You tied the knot to a lovely girl. Come in, come in, the girls are dying to meet you Yoobin-ah,” she responded cheerfully.

I was confused…I thought he said she already knew about Bom and their engagement…so why was she acting so nice towards me?

I nodded, stepping into the house to find seven girls older than me, beaming at me.

I bowed.

“Oh dear don’t be so shy, come in. You are now part of this family. Look at her she’s all shy around us and so polite unlike that Bomi girl,” his mother stated.

I widened my eyes.

“Umma her name is Bom,” JaeJoong corrected.

Ugh, is he seriously correcting another woman’s name in front of his wife? I elbowed him.

His mother laughed.

“You teach him Yoobin-ah. I never really did like that girl, always so insolent thinking she owned the world just because she was famous. You’re famous and you are courteous.”

I couldn’t help it, I laughed.

I could see his mother and I were going to get along just fine! I already thought of her as my Umma.

Pretty soon all the girls were laughing and the only one that didn’t get what was going on was JaeJoong, which made me laugh more.

After settling down, JaeJoong took my hand and walked me to the middle of the living room, sitting on the reclining chair, pulling me on top of his lap.

I quickly got up, beet red.

“Aw she’s so cute!” one girl announced, see I wish I could tell you which one, but there were too many and I hadn’t been properly introduced yet.

“Yoobin dear, it’s okay to sit on your husband’s lap. I do it all the time,” JaeJoong’s mother stated.

I don’t know which part was more disturbing, me sitting on his lap or her sitting on her husband’s lap at her age…me sitting on his lap, most definitely.

“Anyways, please excuse her, she’s a little shy especially since she needs to make a good impression, although I don’t understand why, we are already married, so you don’t have to worry about it Cupcake,” JaeJoong smirked.

There are moments in my life in which my mind strays into the danger zone…violence. This was one of them.

“Hello, my name is Kim Yoobin, I am unfor-” clearing my throat, “JaeJoong’s wife,” I introduced myself since he wasn’t going to do it with a bow.

“Aw she’s so cute!”

Seriously that was starting to bug me now…couldn’t they find another word, I mean cute is good once, but use it more than once, it makes me think of a bunny…and I am not a bunny.

I cleared my throat, hoping JaeJoong would get the hint.

“Oh dear, do you need some water?”

“No thank you,” I answered, awkwardly standing there.

“Where is Appa?”

“Oh he’s at work, he said that you two better wait for him so he could chop you up into pieces,” a lady said smiling.

I gasped.

They all started to laugh…and now I was the one left out.

“Yoobin just sit down, will you? You aren’t going to grow any taller anymore only to the sides,” JaeJoong voiced.

Danger zone I tell you.

Out of nowhere a rag hit JaeJoong right smack on the face while I was glaring at him.

“Umma!”

“That is no way to speak to a lady, especially your wife,” she scolded.

I smiled.

I really do like his mother.

“Well she won’t sit down and she is making you guys uncomfortable by being stuck up. She had no problem saying ‘I do’ the other night or doing other things and now she won’t even sit on me,” JaeJoong replied.

Danger zone!

“Shut up! It was a mistake, don’t you get it? I was drunk and so were you or else you’d be married to a conceited woman right now…so technically I did you a favor by saying ‘I do’.” Glaring at him, “I’m afraid that I might break your tiny little girly bones if I sit on you, so dear HUSBAND sorry for being a considerate wife,” I kicked his foot.

Oh God, I said all this in front of his family, who was now flabbergasted.

See what I mean by the danger zone….sorry?

“I like her,” a voice announced behind me.

I turned around to find myself in front of not just his mother and sisters, but also a man who was probably his father.

I bowed; it was the only thing I could think of.

“I like her,” he repeated. “She’s got character unlike that Bomi girl.”

I couldn’t help but smile.

“Bom, Appa, her name is Park Bom AND she is not conceited, just confident and she has a right to be unlike some girls,” he answered defending her AGAIN while giving me a look.

So, I kicked him while his mother sent another rag flying across the room.

“What the ?”

“Watch your language young man. Just because you are married doesn’t mean you can curse under my roof,” his father declared.

I nodded smiling.

“Well Yoobin, it seems that you’ve been handling my son’s maltreatment for a while, I’m glad you finally told him how you felt. Communication is the only way a married couple can survive these days even if you said your wedding vows to Elvis Priestly,” his mother stated smiling.

Ha-ha I loved his family! They were much more laid back compared to mine.

That’s when it dawned on me, once I divorce this jerk that means I’ll be divorcing his family too…no Yoobin, you can’t like them!!!!

The rest of the day we spent it getting to know each other…turns out that one sister was missing because she couldn’t travel since she was pregnant and expecting any day now.

By the end of the night I was angry, I really liked them…they were really nice and so loving towards each other…something my family lacked at times.

All the girls left leaving only JaeJoong and I, because his mother had insisted on us spending the night over. Weak me couldn’t say no to Umma…oh dear lord I just called her Umma.

AHHH!!!!

This is going to be one challenging year.
