Day 2: Stop eating the popcorn you little
Gingerbread and TinselThe popcorn shoots out of the too-expensive-for-one-function popcorn maker and lands haphazardly into the container shoved under the chute. Hyukjae picks up a stray piece that misses and pops it into his mouth, absently stirring the caramel while he waits for enough popcorn to warrant another dip.
“Hyukjae,” Donghae says, staring at the recipe book, “were you supposed to put egg on the pies?”
“,” Hyukjae curses, abandoning the caramel to dive for the oven. The insipid pastry has him pulling trays out of the oven, relieved he’d only forgotten for five minutes. He quickly breaks an egg and whisks it before brushing it over the meat pies, working quickly before putting them back into the oven.
Job done, he turns back to the popcorn maker and finds the container mysteriously empty. He glowers at it while a solitary piece of popcorn drops miserably into the barren container and turns his glare upon Donghae, who has the gall to blink at him innocently.
“Stop eating the popcorn you little ,” he snaps, grabbing the bag of kernels and dropping more into the machine. “I can’t make caramel popcorn balls with just caramel!”
“I can’t wait though,” Donghae protests even as he leans around Hyukjae to dip a spoon into the caramel. “It tastes so good!” He watches Hyukjae patiently as his boyfriend continues to scowl at him. his eyes brightening with a mischievous light, he dips a finger into the warm caramel and taps Hyukjae’s nose with it. “
