Day 12: Cooking
Gingerbread and TinselDonghae opens the door and gets a face full of garlic. He coughs and covers his face as he enters the kitchen. “Is it vampire season?” he asks, eyeing the kitchen counter that’s covered in spice boxes. “Or feed everyone we’ve ever met season.”
“The latter,” Hyukjae says, focused on watching two pans fry things that smell delicious. “You’re still making dessert?”
“Of course,” Donghae says, placing the cream and milk in the fridge. “Do we have any crazy people who don’t like curry coming?”
“A couple of the kids,” Hyukjae says grimly. “Some bull about their tastebuds not being fully developed yet.”
“They’ll grow into it,” Donghae says with a smile, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek and inhale deeply. “It smells amazing.”
“That would be because I am amazing,” Hyukjae says with a smirk. “I don’t care that we’re in our thirties, they better give us red envelopes. Making this is expensive.”
Donghae wraps his arms around Hyukjae’s slender waist with a smile. “Isn’t their gratitude and the joy of being together worth it? Their happiness and the love of family?”
Hyukjae hums and contemplates this. “No. They better pay up,” he grins as Donghae stifles his laughter into his shoulder.
