Matthew drives both of them as they leave the party. Jiwoo doesn’t know where they are going as Matthew had just told her to follow him. He said he was going to tell her everything.

It was dark out by now so Jiwoo watches the lights quickly pass by as Matthew drives. He was quiet. It was weird because Jiwoo was used to him being loud and chatty. Jiwoo knows that Matthew was probably collecting his thoughts and feelings but she had the urge to comfort him.

She is hesitant but she places a hand on his hand, which was resting on his lap. He quickly glances at her in surprise but she is looking forward, avoiding his gaze.

He feels a smile creeping up on his lips and he faces forward again. He gently intertwines her fingers with her.

It’s Jiwoo’s turn to look at him in surprise.

She smiles when she sees him driving with a small smile on his face.

Eventually they end up in front of a fancy looking apartment building.

“Where are we?” Jiwoo asks as Matthew stops the car.

“It’s my place…hope you don’t mind”, he says as he finally looks at her.

“It’s fine, but aren’t we breaking a rule”, she asks.

“I think we are a little bit past those rules don’t you think?” he asks.

Jiwoo looks up at him in wonder.

“Never mind, this is the once expectation because you need to know about this for us to carry on pretending to be dating”, he says.

Jiwoo can only nod and he gives her a smile.

“Ok, stay there”, he says as he unbuckles his belt and gets out of the car.

Jiwoo is confused until Matthew opens the door to the passenger side of the car. Jiwoo blinks for a few seconds before her brain registers what was going on. She smiles and unbuckles her own belt. Matthew offers her his hand and she gratefully takes it as she gets out of the car.

Her heart skips another beat, possibly for the 100th time that night.

“Thank you”

“My pleasure”

“This is your house?” she asks as she looks at the beautiful and elegant building.
