Chapter 1: My Name's Chanyeol

<>Baekhyun POV<> 

As Baekyun's taxi sped back down the long, rural road away from the farm, he couldn't help but imagine it as a pretty good representation of any fun he was planning on having this summer. With no phone, no friends, and no alcohol, the long 3 months ahead seemed pretty . As he was leaving, his parents had tried to cheer him up countless ways, but nothing could lift his mood.

"You'll learn to ride a horse, isn't that fun?"

"They have dogs, you love dogs!"

"They have a son about your age named Chanyeol, maybe you can become friends!"

Baekhyun had no plans to become "friends" with anybody, let alone some country bumpkin.

Baekhyun was one of those kids who hung with the popular crowd but was pretty much a lone wolf. He went to all of their parties, but never spoke to anybody during school. Truthfully, he was a bit shy and not good with people, but he would never admit it. He'd never really gotten close enough to anybody to show his real, sassy personality to, and he didn't plan on ever doing so. This summer he intended to stay as remotely acquainted with Park Chanyeol and his family as possible. If only he knew how hard that was going to be. 

As he rang the doorbell to the rustic-style house, he realizes his palms were sweating. Why was he so nervous? It's just a low-class farm boy and his parents, so why was he so nervous about making a good impression? Before he could answer these questions in his mind, the door swung open, and in front of him stood a giant, smiling boy about his age, maybe younger.

"Baekhyun," his eyes sparkled as he held out a hand towards Baekhyun, "My name's Chanyeol."

For a few moments, Baekhyun just stared up at the giant before shakily reaching out his slender hand to shake the big, rough hand greeting him. 

Who even shakes hands at our age? This kid must be really weird

As Baekhyun shook his hand, he noticed a tinge of something darker in the new boy's expression. Before he could place it, he was being led into the house.

"--And this is the kitchen, where I cook usually, and this is the family room where you can hang and watch TV."

Baekhyun was only half listening as Chanyeol gestured towards the staircase, "You won't ever really go up there it's just my parents' rooms and the sewing room."

Next thing he knew he was being led back outside toward a barn in the distance. When they entered, the smell of horses immediately hit him. Chanyeol led him up a staircase and Baekhyun stopped in his tracks as he took in the room before him.

It was a huge loft two beds, couches, a kitchenette, and an open area in the middle. Baekhyun had always been intrigued by these kinds of rooms, and looked around in awe as Chanyeol began speaking,

"This is my room, well now our room. I sleep in that bed," he gestured towards one of the beds, "and you can sleep in that one."

A few minutes later, the tour was over and Chanyeol led him over to a dresser, eyeing Baekhyun's gucci sweater and white shorts.

"You're going to need to change."

"Why?" 

"We're going to clean the horses"

"Clean the-- wait what?"

"The horses? Didn't you see them downstairs?"

"Oh... right... I'll change."

Baekhyun walked over to his suitcase and pulled out a white t-shirt and a pair of jean shorts. As he turned around to ask Chanyeol where he could change, he almost dropped his clothes at the sight in front of him.

Chanyeol was shirtless and currently in the process of taking off his shorts. As he turned around, his eyes met Baekhyun's.

"Wh---what are you doing?" Baekhyun could feel heat rising up to his cheeks and turned his face to the side to hide his embarrassment. Chanyeol's body was the kind that guys would work towards for years. Each muscle on his torso and arms was perfectly defined, and Baekhyun was instantly reminded of those renaissance statues with the perfect bodies and sculpted features. The lines of his abdomen sloped and curved towards the prominent V-lines pointing towards his unbuckled belt hanging from his belt loops. 

Chanyeol flashed his charming smile before taking a step closer to Baekhyun, who in turn took a step back. This continued for a few more steps until Baekhyun's felt his back being pressed against the wooden wall of the loft.

"I was changing." Chanyeol answered with a smirk. Baekhyun opened his mouth as he searched for a reply, when suddenly Chanyeol's hand reached up towards Baekhyun's face and Baekhyun squeezed his eyes shut, but the taller boy only brushed his hand under Baekhyun's eye.

"You had an eyelash," he smiled at Baekhyun before backing away, "I'll head down, you change and meet me downstairs."

And Baekhyun was left breathless against the wall of the loft.

<>Chanyeol POV<>

When Chanyeol opened the door of the farmhouse, the first thing he noticed was the how beautiful the boy in front of him was. He had caramel-brown hair that looked so soft that Chanyeol could barely restrain himself from reaching out and touching it. His lips were dark pink and luscious, and his skin was as smooth and white as porcelain. The most striking part of his features was his eyes. They were a deep brown color and were framed by long, wispy eyelashes that brushed his brow bone as he looked up at Chanyeol.

"My name's Chanyeol."

As he lead the smaller boy around the house, he noticed that the boy seemed pretty out of it, and pondered for the millionth time that day why the boy was here. All his mother had told him was that Baekhyun had been having a rough time at college, and his parents had sent him to the farm to "get some fresh air and clear his mind".

The new boy didn't say a single word as Chanyeol gave him a tour of the house, but every time he would look away, Chanyeol would gaze at him and take in a new part of his appearance. 

Finally they were at the loft, their final destination on the house tour, and Chanyeol admittedly forgot that a stranger was standing in his loft as he began to take his clothes off. As he turned around, he was met by a beautifully embarrassed expression on Baekhyun's dainty features. A faint pink blush was rising to his cheeks and Chanyeol couldn't help but have a little fun with him. He took a step closer.

As Baekhyun's back was pressed against the wall, Chanyeol moved his body closer to Baekhyun's. Chanyeol could feel the shorter boy's racing heartbeat and the corners of his lips turned upwards involuntarily into a smirk. Not wanting to make any further moves and scare the boy away this early, he lifted his rough fingers to Baekhyun's cheek and wiped away an imaginary eyelash before backing away and flashing his trademark smile. He slipped on a white t-shirt on and grabbed a pair of shorts to change into, feeling his own heartbeat hammer in his chest as he made his way down the stairs to the horses' stalls.
